The Raiders put of a strong fight against the Chargers in this week one divisional matchup. The Chargers punted on the opening position of the ball game. The Raiders proceeded to run the ball down the throat of the charger defesnse in impressive fashion capping the drive off with a goaline TD pass to Mychal Rivera. The Raiders missed their chance to push it to a two possession game with a missed FG after a Phillip Rivers INT. The Chargers were then able to answer with a FG after getting the ball with great field position. Making it 7-3 heading into the half. The teams traded FG's the start the 2nd half. Tyvon Branch extended the raider lead with a pick six: The Chargers answered with a long drive of their own ending with Ryan Matthews stuff it home on the goaline. The score now 17-12 Oakland the teams traded several possessions before the Chargers had a long 4th quarter drive ending with a short Ryan Mathews TD run with only 30 seconds left.
