    The Experience

Going to do these a bit differently this year.

    1) Nominate ONE freshmen from your team for me to spotlight rather than me sift through all of your players. And please make sure their stats are impressive. I'm not spotlighting a FR CB who has a single INT and that's it.

    2) Per usual, nominate someone for EMVP

    3) Nominate someone for Oopsman that isn't on your team!!

    Aaaaand Go!

    1) Freshman - The easy pick would be QB Eric Brown, but I'm going to go with Maurice Henry. He's made quiet a few big plays for us this year and has been a vast improvement over the much higher rated Ross.

    2) EMVP - If we're picking people just from our own team I'd have to go with HB Justice Hayes.

    3) Oopsman - Purdue QB Danny Etling.

As is the norm with a coach Jello team, it's all about "The Team, The Team, The Team" so there aren't any guys with standout individual numbers. Here's the best we have:

    1)FR - True FR OLB Chris Ingraham - 29 tkls, 3 TFL, 2 Sks, 1 INT

    2)EMVP - WR Jeremey Whitlow - 33 rec, 591 yds (17.9 AVG), 4 TD

    3)Oopsman - Purdue starting O-line - 6 pancakes, 24 sacks allowed

    1. RS Fr Al Anderson is the best freshman I currently have, but his stats aren't all that impressive.
    2. HB Imani Cross - EMVP
    3. Oopsman - I'm not sure it can be anyone other than my starting WRs. One has 7 drops and the other has 5 already. Possibly Wisconsin TE TJ Watt, as he has 6 drops.

    Masler Awards - Edition #1

    Freshman of the Year
    Illinois

True FR LOLB Chris Ingraham - 29 Tackles, 3 TFL, 2 Sacks, 1 INT, 1 Deflection

Pretty good through nine weeks. Going to be a force in the Illini future, probably sooner than later. Help us all.

    Indiana

    True FR HB/DB Phil Means - 111 Att, 730 yards, 6.6 ypc, 5 RD, 8 Broken Tackles, 0 Fumbles, 7 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 Sack, 1 FR

Definitely an early favorite as he is already a sensation across Hoosier nation, more of a HB than DB and will probably take over that role once Coleman departs.

    Michigan

RS FR ROLB Maurice Henry - 42 tackles, 5 TFL, 1 Sack, 2 INT, 4 Deflections

Looks like this kid is as good stopping the run as he is covering the pass. Just what this Spartan needs :meh:

    Nebraska

RS FR Al Anderson - 16 Tackles, 4 TFL, 1 Sack, 1 INT, 3 Defl

Not a bad FR season for a CB but he could play the pass a little better. Average player.

    Penn State

RS FR LOLB Steven Carter - 39 Tackles, 7 TFL, 1.5 Sacks

A big role player in the defense with 22 assisted tackles and only 17 of his own. He is a sure clean up tackler.

    Wisconsin

True FR FS Dylan Cox - 25 Tackles, 1 TFL, 2 INT

Decent amount of tackles for a safety and a couple of plays in coverage. Not too bad.

    EMVP coming tomorrow...

    EMVP
    Illinois

    WR Jeremey Whitlow - 41 Rec, 702 yards, 5 TD, 4 Drops

Not too often you see a WR making the EMVP list under Coach Jello. The four drops are a little concerning though but Coach Jello also has a history on absurdly high drop rates

    Indiana

    QB Tre Roberson - 104/139, 1752 yards, 15 TD, 5 INT, 64 Att, 301 yards, 4.7 ypc, 8 TD, 2 Fumbles

Not a bad contribution to his team. Another notable stat is he has only been sacked three times, which means Indiana must have a good O line in front of this kid. Low amount of turnovers is nice as well

    Maryland

    HB Wes Brown - 199 Att, 1336 yards, 6.7 ypc, 19 TD, 8 20+, 6 BTK, 2 Fumbles

Setting a high bar for reigning EMVP champ Melvin Gordon with nearly 20 touchdowns and only 2 fumbles. An impressive 6.7 ypc only boosts this kids chance. Coach Rice better enjoy this guy before he is gone.

    Michigan

    HB Justice Hayes - 193 Att, 1227 yards, 6.3 ypc, 17 TD, 7 20+, 9 BTK, 1 Fumble

Just a tad shy behind Brown though he seems to be the better carrier. Really does show that the run game is overpowered but also successful.

    Michigan State

LE Brandon Clemons - 22 Tackles, 12 TFL, 8 Sacks

Not super impressive but it is probably Spartys only contender.

    Nebraska

    HB Imani Cross - 142 Att, 876 yards, 6.1 ypc, 14 TD, 8 20+, 8 BTK, 0 Fumbles

While not as impressive with yardage, Cross is keeping up with YPC, TDs and has yet to fumble.

    Penn State

    HB Akeel Lynch - 163 Att, 863 yards, 5.2 ypc, 8 TD, 4 20+, 7 BTK, 0 Fumbles

Not really my first choice but we had to honor the guy Coach Fmode nominated.

    Wisconsin

    HB Melvin Gordon - 175 Att, 860 yards, 4.9 ypc, 14 TD, 7 20+, 5 BTK, 1 Fumble

Definitely not in EMVP form this season with less than 5 ypc and splitting time with Clement isn't helping either. He's at the bottom of the list when it comes to this group of HB.
