The online CCM has been advanced to the Free Agency stage! The deadline for the first of three free agency phases will be Thursday, 1/31/13 @ midnight EST. We will advance to the second free agency phase immediately at midnight EST. ALL FREE AGENTS IN THE POOL ARE AVAILABLE FOR YOU TO MAKE CONTRACT OFFERS; NO PLAYER IS OFF-LIMITS.

You do NOT need to post your free agent bids in the forum. You MUST post ALL player releases in the forum.

FREE AGENCY rules revised to prevent teams from sand bagging veteran free agents with large contract deals in order to be awarded the contract when competing with other teams; knowing that the free agent will most likely retire before the majority of the contract is paid. The rules underFA.2 FREE AGENT CONTRACT TERMShave been added to reflect the limitation for free agents age 32 or older...

ALL releases must be posted as follows...

From the TEAM SALARIES screen of the online CCM post the Length, Remaining, Total, and Bonus figures quoted.
    EXAMPLE:
    MLB Dansby... 4/1, 40M/10M = 2.5M penalty
    DT Soliai... 6/6, 64.8M/6M = 6M penalty
    HB Stewart... 5/3, 19.5M/0 = 0 penalty
    DT Crawford... 4/3, 4.92M/2.08M = 1.56M penalty

Take care of those activities directly in the online CCM. You can access the player attributes by viewing the free agent via the CCM website. However, the viable free agents will be limited to which player(s) best suit your scheme that you are running.

You may continue to post trades accordingly. Please process them in the online CCM once they have been approved.

The Salary Cap per season is as follows (4% increase per season):

    · 2016: $149M

    · 2017: $155M

    · 2018: $161M

Please keep in mind that there is now a $15M penalty limit per season which includes penalties incurred from releases AND trades.

revised to include the language in green...

Teams may extend an offer for any contract length and/or amount the free agent will accept within the limitations of the online CCM. The only exception to this is that any player age 32 or older may only be offered a contract length no greater than three years - even if the free agent is asking for a contract length greater than three years. If a team has signed a free agent that is 32+ for a contract length > 3 years, that team will be forced to release the free agent indefinitely.

What if the signing happened b4 this language was added to the forum? I signed 32 year old
TE- Vernon Davis to what he asked for with a 6 year deal....

When does this rule go into effect?
If a team has signed a free agent that is 32+ for a contract length > 3 years, that team will be forced to release the free agent indefinitely.

Think this is something that should have been said prior to the resigning phase...

It doesn't apply to re-signings Jon. Only FA bidding.

To tell you the truth....he was damn near going to be a free agent....but he deserved a contract with us. He's been one of the only that's been consistent when it comes to making plays for me. He's in good hands Michael ;)

Key term in that whole sentence.... SIM season. Until someone dethrones me from the AFC North, it still goes through Raven Country baby.. Yes our fans are hot.

    Browns:

    Season 1: Won One Game
Season 2: Simulation- Won One Game
    Season 3: 9-7
    Season 4: Simulation 9-7
Season 5: Beat Ravens in the playoffs by...A FIELD GOAL
and scratch that...Browns did not make the playoffs or win the division in the SIM season...I read it wrong...the Steelers won the division and were the only AFC North team in the playoffs last season.
