Not a lot of games nor feedback to start the season so just going to preview the few games we have. All of escaped week 1 except the ole Stanford Cardinal. In what was probably the ugliest game in Redshirts history, Wisconsin mustered a whopping 84 yards through the air and without a big run from QB Eugene Scott, they put up less then 50 yards rushing but the defense picked off QB Eric Schultz 4 times and were able to start the season victorious 14-6, they will hit the road this week and face Oregon :-( .
Arkansas knocked off Louisville 24-17 as the Razorbacks look to bounce back from last seasons dismantle. Coach ryalaman was able to hold off his alma mater 28-21. Would you have been happy or embarrassed coach Ryal ? North Carolina put up a hell of a fight against Alabama but another game that was separated within 1 score as the Tide move to 1-0 42-37.
Coach Evans started a new era without Braxton Miller and things got off to a rocky start but the Buckeyes were able to escape the week 1 upset and hold off Northern Illinois 45-38. South Carolina dominated ECU 28-7, Michigan rolls 38-13 and Florida rapes in-state opponent Florida Atlantic.
We've got some good games this week. Wisconsin will hit the road and face Oregon. Coach ZCar352 will hit the road and face Ohio State in Columbus. During the weekly press conference with Coach Carder he was quoted as "I hope Ohio State isn't a jew in the shoe"... locker room talk for the Buckeyes. Coach dnf913 will also travel west and face the California Bears. Our only other Redshirts game will be Coach Adams looking to get the first win of the season as Stanford will host Arizona in an early season conference game.

Very interested how my game is going to go against Cal. Have been testing running the option with Zach Allen. He is slow but is heads and shoulders better as a passer so it may pay to have him in there to throw when I need to. May just do a QB rotation by series or quarters, not sure yet.

Badgers/Cardinal Set Offense Back 100 Years
    [IMG]
Both squads opened the season with several question marks on both sides of the ball and it showed. It's always tough to open the season against a tough opponent and this was a prime example. Wisconsin's offense was brutal to watch for all 4 quarters for the Camp Randall faithful while Stanford struggled to get things going for just the first half. Both teams went back and forth at each other for much of the first quarter. Stanford was able to move close to midfield before Eric Schultz tossed an interception over the middle to MLB Derek Watt but the Badger offense did nothing with the opportunity. Stanford move the chains a few more times before Schultz tossed his 2nd interception of the game again to Watt. Watt returned the interception inside the Stanford 15 yard line. Badger QB Eugene Scott converted a 3rd down to TE Sam Arneson and a few plays later RB Melvin Gordon found the endzone to give Wisconsin a early 7-0 lead. The two teams again struggled but Stanford got the ball rolling with a little over 4 minutes left in the opening half. Chewing up clock & yardage, Stanford faced a 3rd & goal from the 9 yard line with less then a minute before the half. QB Eric Schultz kept the read option which probably nobody in the stadium expected and Schultz had a wide open shot to the endzone but the QB's lack of speed hurt and he was brought down at the Wisconsin 2 yard line. Stanford settled for the field goal but kicker Nicholas Phillips missed the chip shot field goal and into the half the two teams went 7-0 Wisconsin.
Wisconsin opened the 2nd half and looked much better. A first down pass to sophomore WR Troy Baker was good for 10 yards and then QB Eugene Scott kept a read option and went 35 yards down to the Stanford 35. A 2nd down sack killed the drive and Drew Meyer's 50 yard field goal came up short after hitting the crossbar. Stanford opened the next drive with a huge pass to FB Curtis Carter for 32 yards but that was as far as Stanford would get and on came Nicholas Phillips once again, this time Phillips booted through the field goal as Stanford trailed 7-3. Stanford converted a big 3rd down but a Wisconsin sack forced the Cardinal to take the ball into the 4th quarter down 7-3 and facing a 2nd & 18. WR Kodi Whitfield got open over the middle and converted the long distance and moved Stanford past the Wisconsin 30 yard line. After moving inside the 15 yard line, Stanford would stall once again, credit to a 1st & 3rd down sack. Phillips would kick another field goal and Stanford now trailed 7-6 with a little under 5 minutes left in the game. Wisconsin's offense moved the chains a few times and milked the clock inside 2 minutes but the Cardinal defense stood strong and stopped the clock with 1:20 remaining. They opened their next drive with Schultz converting a 4th & 1 to TE Vincent Perez then Wisconsin's defense left WR Michael Rector opened up the sideline for a 24 yard gain to move inside the Wisconsin 35 yard line with 23 seconds left. The very next play, Schultz tossed his 3rd interception of the day to CB Terrance Floyd who took the interception all the way back for the Wisconsin touchdown to lead 14-6. Schultz was intercepted on the final play of the game and Wisconsin's brutal offense escapes the day with the 14-6 victory.

Great video as usual Trey. Who was the music?

Nice 10 yard miss by Clutch. That pick 6 was a killer. Josh could have won that game, he was in position to put it away.

Ohio State Edges Florida In Columbus
The 13th ranked Florida Gators traveled to Columbus to take on the 5th ranked Buckeyes in a big early season non conference game. The Gators would get the ball first, starting on a their first drive down the field but disaster would quickly strike as the Buckeyes defense forces and recovers a fumble. The OSU offense would waste no time taking advantage, as two plays later first year starter Brian Rodgers would hit first year starting WR Ricquan Southward on a 15 yard TD pass that Southward amazingly grabbed and pulled in one handed. 7-0 Buckeyes with just 40 ticks off the clock. Florida would strike next with a 47 yd TD pass from QB Tyler Mornhiweg to WR Bruce Johnson to tie the score at 7-7 with 3:55 to play in the quarter. From here, both defenses would solidify, putting the offenses on ice moving into the 2nd quarter. With just under 5 minutes in the half, the Buckeye offense would get another big play, this time on a designed QB delayed run by Rodgers. Rodgers took it 24 yards to the house to give the Buckeyes a 14-7 advantage. As we would see most of this game, Florida answered quickly, this time with another Mornhiweg to Johnson TD bomb, this time from 45 yards out to tie things back up at 14 with just 1:52 remaining in the half. The Buckeye offense would get one last chance to get a score before halftime and take advantage they did, moving the ball down the field quickly into FG range. They are able to cap the drive with a 40 yd FG to take a 17-14 lead into the half.
Breaking the tit for tat pattern going on in this game, OSU scores the next points, getting another FG, this time from 38 yards out with just over 5 minutes remaining in the game. Not to be outdone however, Florida would take their first lead of the game on another Mornhiweg TD pass with 2:56 remaining in the quarter to make it 21-20, Gators. Now it was Rodgers time again, this time he keeps on a read option and rumbles 32 yards for the TD to give the lead back to the Buckeyes at 27-21 just before the end of the 3rd quarter. Florida would get another FG to make it 27-24 and put themselves in position to take the lead or tie. From there on out though, both defenses showed what they are made of and that ended the scoring, 27-24. The Buckeyes escape with a big win.
    STATS
    Florida
    QB Tyler Mornhiweg - 20/33 324 YD 3 TD
