    Iowa 21

This game went back and forth during the first three quarters as each team was able to respond when the opponent took the lead. Iowa was able to take a 14-10 lead at half time on two big TD passes from Jermaine Robinson to Ben Clark and Kenny Jordan. In the second half Oregon State' rushing attack took over with FB William Smith scoring on a 5 yard run, and then Pat Davis broke loose on a 37 yard TD rush to give the Beavers a 24-21 lead going into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter the Beaver Defense, yes the maligned Beaver Defense made some plays. First, it forced a punt, and then struck with a big play to Myron Downs when the Hawkeyes brought their safeties close to the line of scrimmage. Downs scored on a 56 yard TD reception. Then the Beavers would add another TD, after the defense intercepted the first of three passes in the in the fourth quarter.

GG Omega, I thought this was going down to the wire.
