    Oklahoma State 20
    #15 Iowa 49

An up and down first half for the Hawkeyes kept the Cowboys in the game but left Iowa with the lead at the end of the half and from there they shut down Oklahoma State. Iowa started the game with the ball and pounded it right down the Cowboys throats, capping off the drive with a backup HB M. McCall TD run. A three and out by the Cowboys gave Iowa great field position on the punt and a few plays later into the redzone, QB Adam Reese was throwing his first INT of the year in the endzone. Oklahoma State went right down the field and scored on a QB scramble. Now with the momentum and a tie game they kicked off to WR/KR Torrey Campbell who the crushed that momentum with a 102 yard kick return for a TD and they 14-7 lead. The Cowboys hung in and nabbed a FG cut the lead to 14-10, then Campbell ran that kick back 103 yards for a 21-10 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Halfway through the second quarter Iowa QB Adam Reese would hook up with WR E.J. Turner for a 9 yard TD reception, this TD puts Turner in for a tie with Iowa great Tim Dwight for the schools all time lead in TD receptions at 21 (lol). Up 28-10 Iowa would turn the ball over again on another pick in the endzone and Oklahoma State would score 10 points in the last 1:28 of the half to cut the lead to 28-20.

The second half Coach uncleho decided he had seen enough of Reese's "growth" as a passer and decided to hand the ball off to HB Damon Bullock, who did run well in the first half when he had carries. Bullock responded with TD runs of 11, 34, and 18 yards in the second half to finish with 221 rushing yards and the 3 TDs. Iowa's defense bent but didn't break in the second half, allowing alot of yards through the air, but never giving up points.

Next week Iowa travels to Tennessee to take on the Volunteers.

    Alabama wins over Kentucky 35-27.

    Recap:
The offense got out to a slow start going 3 and out in its first 2 possessions, and Kentucky was able to jump out to an early 7-0 lead on a blown assignment in the secondary. Bama really started to hit full stride late in the first quarter through the end of the half as the defense completely shut Kentucky down, and Todd Price threw TD passes of 54, 69, 56, and 55 yards giving Bama a 28-7 advantage.

The Tide were able to go down and score on their opening possession of the second half, and looked to pound ball with their various RB's and backup QB. Things started to fall apart late in the third quarter when Ely fumbled the ball and the Wildcats returned it for an 84 yard TD.

Kentucky dominated the fourth quarter throwing 2 TD passes, but missing an extra point. WR Fields earned player of the game honors catching 3 passes for 133 yards and 2 TDs, and recovering an onside kick with 1:12 left to play.

    Thoughts:
A lot of questions are still to be answered after today's win over Kentucky, both at the individual level and team. We're happy we were able to pull out a close win, but our lack to finish really allowed Kentucky to put our backs against the wall in the fourth quarter. If this game went into overtime we may be looking at a different result in the final standings.

With that being said, I was pretty happy with how the offense played at times and how the defense played at times. Eliminating the big plays on defense is going to be our main focus going into week 2, and sustaining drives and not depending on the big play will be our focus for offense.

Price will have to work on making his reads, getting the ball out quick, and making the right decisions. He showed he has a big arm, but there is a lot to improve on. On the other hand, backup QB Ely will need to find his role on this squad, if he has one at all, in order to earn more playing time.

    #7 Michigan 35
    Syracuse 0

    -Syracuse, New York

Michigan opened the 2015 season on the road at the Carrier Dome and had no problems with the atmosphere dominating this one from start to finish. The defense pitched a shutout allowing 179 YDS and no points. Michigan was led by a strong running game totaling over 200 yards. QB Thomas had one of the best games in his young career throwing for 3 TDs. Michigan goes 1-0 on the season and now faces a much harder task... The #1 country in the nation, next week, in the Big House. Michigan vs Oregon. Hopefully we can show up for this game.

    Stats:
QB Thomas Jones 287 Rating, 5/8 96 YDS, 3 TDs
HB Thomas Rawls 21 attempts 164 YDS, TD
HB F Williamson 12 attempts 67 YDS, TD

    LSU - 24
    Washington - 6

This one was not pretty, but a win is a win. The LSU defense dominated for most of the game and scored two touch downs. On offense, the Tigers struggled. They were able to score a TD on a long run by Steve Smith, but were kept mostly silent aside from that. The offensively line decided not to block the strong safeties correctly for most of the game and that, paired with the very aggressive play from the free safety made it tough to run. Several attempts to take advantage of this by throwing it over the top vrs man coverage proved unsuccessful as Randall was not able to throw a good pass. Next week LSU will face UCLA. The Tigers will need major improvement if they hope to win the SEC this year.

In Knoxville, the Volunteers start the year with a shut-out win and dominating defense. The defense as whole only gave up 124 total yards of offense, held the Tigers to -7 yards rushing, and limited the Tigers to 2-11 on 3rd down. On the flip side of the ball, the Tennessee O rolled racking up 398 yards of total offense, picking up 18 1st downs, and dominating TOP 24:48-9:58. QB Nic Mayfield was 15-24 for 198 yards and 2 TD's. RB Tom Smith had 13 carries for 124 yards and 2 TD's. Also getting in on the action was HB Devrin Young adding 12 carries for 67 yards and a TD. WR Fred Houston also had 6 catches for 66 yards.

Tennessee took control early and never let up as after the game coach said "This was a solid start. To start the year off with a shut out is amazing. We still have some work to do, we need to get better b/c we missed an easy field goal. We got Iowa coming into town next week, and if we want a win we have to play as good if not better than this week."

Irish Win Despite Poor Showing in East Lansing
    Notre Dame 24
    Michigan State 17
East Lansing, MI -- Junior Notre Dame Quarterback Reggie Williams sure didn't impress many in his anticipated first game of the season. Irish fans were clammoring all off season waiting to see how he progressed and if he could lead the Irish to a national title this year. So far the results are that he can't. Williams was 13 for 27 with 276 yards 1 touchdown and 4 interceptions.
"It just wasn't my game today. I wasn't making the right reads, and hats off to Michigan State, they made some good plays today. I am going to hit the film room and learn from these mistakes. I don't want this to ever happen again." Williams stated after the game. "He'll be OK. He made some bad plays, we will talk about it next week in meetings and during practice. We'll adjust." Coach Kelly said in his press conference following the Irish's win.
George Atkinson was also having some trouble running the ball and wasn't able to crack the century mark rushing for 90 yards on 21 attempts. Frank Pierre had 51 yards on 6 attempts and a touchdown.
The Spartans were able to jump out to a 10-0 lead following some mistakes by the Irish quarterback. Their first scoring play was on a 70 yard touchdown pass on their first drive which set the tone early and gave the Spartans confidence that they carried until the final whistle. The Irish were able to level in the second quarter thanks to a 67 yard screen pass to Atkinson that he was able to take to the house and a Drew Freeman field goal.
Reggie Williams continued to make mistakes which kept the Spartans in the game till the end. The Irish were able to mount an impressive late fourth quarter drive which was capped by a 14 yard Frank Pierre rush for a touchdown that put them over the top for good.

    Georgia 37
    UCLA 7

Georgia's roster is loaded this season and it showed on the field against UCLA. The Bruins just hired a new coach but it is clear that coach Kaen will need to put in some long hours on the recruiting trail. Georgia got the ball first but went three and out. On the ensuing punt, the returner took a big hit and lost the ball. Georgia scooped the fumble and waltzed into the endzone. The Georgia defense scored again on the next drive. This time QB Hundley fumbled the ball and defensive end A. Phillips got the short fumble recovery TD. Things continued to spiral down hill for UCLA. After forcing the Bruins to punt, the Bulldogs' offense finally got in the end zone. New QB Mike Adams found freshman Mitchell on a streak route, and Mitchell finished with a 56-yard TD. The Bulldogs added another TD in the first quarter to go up 28-0. That was the last TD Georgia would score in this game. Georgia added a long field goal in the second quarter and two short kicks in the second half. The story of this game was the performance of Georgia's defense. The Bulldog's defense forced 6 turnovers in this game, including interceptions from 4 different members of the secondary. UCLA did score the one TD late in the third quarter but for most of the day the Bruins' offense was shut down.

Off MVP - Mitchell 1 reception 56 yards 1 TD

Def MVP - A. Phillips 3 tackles 1 sack 1 fumble recovery 1 defensive TD

Any idea what are advance schedule looks like if we advance tonight? If Huskie can't play Friday night, it will be impossible for me to play before Monday. I really don't want to take another sim/AP loss. I haven't lost a game I actually played in like 2 seasons. My last 2 losses in this dynasty were a sim to Bama last season and an AP loss to LSU 2 seasons ago.

    Fresno State - 14
    Oregon - 65

The Ducks pick up where they left off last season. Oregon used a heavy rushing attack and timely passing to blowout Fresno State. They had 3 runners go over 100 yards on the ground. Tra Carson and Mike Olsen each had 108 yards; while Cameron Davis went for 114. They scored 6 TDs between them. Oregon is beginning the year with a new QB. Isaiah Jones was pretty efficient for his first college start. He completed 14 of 18 passes for 164 yards and 2 TDs. He was intercepted once and sacked twice. The defense was dominate in this first game. They sacked the QB 8 times; 5 by Bryce Glover. The two scores that Oregon gave up came when Tyler Poland was beat one long passing plays. He will need to pick up his game or he will no longer see time as the #1 CB.
