    Sept 12, 2015 Texas Tech @ #15 Michigan

The first quarter started slow, with both teams trading punts early, but Texas Tech QB Reggie Smith, hit receiver Andre Rogers for an 8 yard score late in the quarter. Michigan roared back with a 56 yard TD pass three plays later to tie the game. The next drive for each team would produce another TD pass, and the game was tied going into the locker room at 14.

Tech QB Smith, threw a pick on the opening series of the second half, but Michigan was unable to connect on a 34 yard FG attempt. Texas Tech's next drive ate up the rest of the third quarter, and ended with a 37 yard FG. This was the point in the game when the Wolverines took over. The next drive, D Ward, totaled 68 yards on one rush and one reception, and Michigan regained the lead on another TD pass, 21 - 17. Smith was intercepted on the following drive, and Michigan added another TD. A 53 yard TD reception by Brad Roberts kept the Red Raiders in the game, by cutting the lead to 28 - 23.

The play of the game came with 1:40 left in the fourth. Michigan has the ball, with a 3rd and 4 on the Red Raiders 31. HB D Ward takes the handoff running right, but FS Jabari McLaughlin bolts into the backfield untouched and hits him 4 yards behind the line of scrimmage. Just before Ward hits the ground, he uses the hand he is carrying the ball in to throw McLaughlin off, and run for 21 yards to seal the deal.

Week 5 Texas Tech @ Oklahoma State

The Red Raiders force a three-and-out on the Cowboys first drive, and on a solid drive take a 7 - 0 lead on a 4 yard TD run by QB Reggie Smith. Oklahoma State ties the game in the second, but Texas Tech grabs the lead back right before the half, on a 7 yard run by reserve HB Zak Luke.

Midway through the third quarter, Tech LB Ben Martin, made the play of the game, by scooping up a fumble, and chugging 79 yards down the sideline to make the lead 21- 7. QB Smith, added another TD run in the fourth to build a 21 point lead. Oklahoma State added two touchdowns afterward, and even recovered an onside kick with 12 seconds left, but it was too little, too late.

The rain was coming down from more than just the sky, on the Cyclones this evening. On the Red Raiders first drive, Iowa State covered all the Tech receivers so well, that QB Reggie Smith was forced to run. 21 yards later he was dragging Cyclones into the end zone for the games opening score. The second quarter saw the Red Raiders repeatedly forcing a three-and-out, and then scoring a TD. The play of the game was a short drag route, which Marques Washington took 63 yards for a score. Iowa State got their first, 1st down with 8 seconds to play in the half; they had three total on the day.

Texas Tech led at the half 28 - 0.

The third quarter was more of the same, with the Tech defense forcing a turnover, and receiver Andre Roger's catching two short TD's from Smith. The Cyclones saw the Texas Tech reserves chew up the clock, and add a FG in the fourth, to give Coach Harris his first shut out, and largest margin of victory as the Red Raiders head coach.

    Week 6 Oct. 10, 2015 #20 Texas A&M at Texas Tech

The Red Raiders host their absolutely, positively most hated rival this week, the Texas A&M Aggies. Texas Tech QB Reggie Smith, had a rough start to this game. On the opening drive, a tipped pass by a DE, bounced out of the hands of receiver Larry Robinson, and into the hands of an Aggie linebacker. A few plays later, Texas A&M HB Brown broke a 43 yard TD run. On Tech's second drive, a Smith pass was picked at the goaline. The Red Raiders forced a three-and-out to end the first quarter.

With a short field, and a solid rushing attack, Smith settled down, and led a TD drive to tie the game at 7. The Red Raiders looked to have all the momentum when the Aggie's kicker missed a 43 yard FG, but on the following play, a pick 6 put Texas A&M back on top. Reggie Smith stepped up the next drive though, completing 5 of 5 passes, the last which was taken by the HB John Rogers 19 yards for a TD to even the game at 14. Getting the ball back after A&M missed a 41 yard FG, with 24 seconds left in the half, Smith found Marques Washington uncovered down the center of the field for a 76 yard TD pass. Texas Tech took a 21 - 14 lead into the half.

The third quarter saw both teams lead long drives that produced no points, Texas Tech broke the stalemate midway through the fourth, when Smith threw his third TD pass on the day, to give the Red Raiders a 14 point lead with 2:21 to play. Texas A&M drove to the Tech 5 yard line with 48 seconds left, and on 4th and 1, SS Tony Harris burst into the backfield, and stood up the HB for a 3 yard loss, effectively ending the game.

The Red Raider end their most heated rivalry with a victory over the undefeated Aggies.

    Week 8 Texas Tech @ Missouri Oct. 17, 2015

The Red Raiders and QB Reggie Smith, came into the game knowing they struggle on the road, and decided to take a more conservative game plan to start the game, and it payed off. Playing for a FG on their first drive, and a QB scramble on the next, Tech built a 10 - 0 lead at the end of the first.

The scoring opened up with under a minute and a half to play in the second quarter. WR Marques Washington of Texas Tech, caught a 56 yard TD, that was answered a few plays later by Missouri HB Dobzinski, who broke a 67 yard TD run, but the scoring didn't stop there. Washington caught a 20 yard TD pass with 4 seconds remaining in the half to give Texas Tech a 24 - 6 lead at the half.

The Red Raiders opened the second half a long drive that chewed up half of the third quarter, and ended in another TD pass for Smith. Before the quarter was over, WR Washington beat the press coverage, and streaked wide open down the sideline for his third TD reception of the day.

In the fourth, the Tech went-off on the Missouri offense, forcing an interception and two fumbles, to seal the deal.

    Week 9 Oct. 24, 2015 Colorado @ Texas Tech

Texas Tech took the opening kickoff, and QB Reggie Smith hit 6 of 7 passes including an 18 yard TD to Andre Rogers to take an early lead. Colorado missed a FG on the ensuing drive, but stopped the Red Raiders on a 4th and 2 attempt immediately after. The Buffaloes finally got on the board early in the second with a 16 yard TD pass. After a 3-and-out by Tech, Colorado took the lead on a 37 yard TD run, but missed the XP. Reserve HB Zak Luke returned the following kickoff to the Buffaloes 9 yard line, and Smith hit Marques Washington for a TD pass to give Tech a 14 – 13 lead going into the half.

Texas Tech forced a punt on Colorado’s first possession of the second half, and quickly extended the lead to 21 – 13 on a 1 yard plunge by HB John Rogers. The Buffaloes intercepted Smith on Tech’s next possession, but a few play later fumbled the ball back to the Red Raiders. Tech pounded out a series of run plays, and then struck with a 12 yard TD pass to Larry Robinson. With 1:45 left to play, Mike Barnes intercepted a pass from Colorado QB Kendrick, and took it the distance to put the game out of reach.

    Week 10 Oct. 31, 2015 Texas Tech @ Baylor

Baylor opened the scoring on the first drive when HB Sanchez broke a 38 yard TD run. Texas Tech answered when QB Reggie Smith, threw a deep pass into the end zone, that was tipped by the Baylor CB, into the hands of Larry Robinson. The pass was ruled incomplete, but a coach's challenge awarded the Red Raiders the TD. Baylor QB Bryant, was intercepted on the next drive, and Smith took advantage by throwing a 5 yard strike to Andre Rogers. Still in the first, Bryant hits a 54 yard bomb, and Sanchez scores his second TD on a 1 yard run, but Baylor misses the XP. After the kickoff, Smith hits Robinson on two passes, one for 48 yards and the second for 14 and a TD, to give Tech a 21 to 13 lead at the end of one.

Reggie Smith threw 3 TD's in the first quarter, and 3 interceptions in the second, as Tech produced no points in the second quarter, and Baylor tied the game on a 1 yard QB option, and a two point conversion.

The Red Raiders opened the second half with a long drive, but Smith threw an interception inside the 5 yard line; his fourth on the day. Baylor drove down the field with ease, and looked as if they were about to take the lead, when John Mackey stepped in front of a Bryant pass in the end zone, and took it 103 yards for a TD. On Baylor's next play, Tony Harris scooped up a fumble by Sanchez, and took it back 47 yards for a TD. Smith threw his fourth TD midway through the final quarter to finish off the scrappy rival.

    Week 11 Nov. 6, 2015 #25 Texas Tech @ #11 Texas

Texas Tech went into this game with rival Texas, hoping to game the game close with a conservative game plan. In the first quarter it paid off. The Red Raiders did little on offense, but held Texas to 3 points on two red zone visits. The wheels started to come off in the second quarter. The Longhorns scored on a 43 yard TD run, and a 39 yard fumble return for a TD to take a 17 - 0 lead at the half.

The Red Raiders,shut-out the Longhorns offense in the third, but only managed a FG themselves. By the fourth quarter, Texas Tech was wore down, and Longhorn freshman HB Williams chewed up the clock, and scored two more TD's, while the Texas D returned an interception 64 yards for a TD.

    Week 12 Nov. 14, 2010 #8 Oklahoma A Texas Tech

This game can best be summarized by saying Oklahoma scored on every drive, and Tech only managed 2 early FG's. The Red Raiders DB's could not cover the Oklahoma receivers, and the D-line was not able to produce any pass rush, or slow down the run. When the Tech offense had their chances, they could not capitalize.

    Week 13 Nov. 21, 2015 #7 FSU @ Texas Tech

The Red Raiders come into this game, facing their third Top 10 opponent in a row, the #7 ranked Seminoles. Reggie Smith "threaded the needle" to WR Marques Washington, in the end zone on the opening drive, to give Tech a 7 - 0 lead. FSU fumbled on their fourth play from scrimmage, and a few plays later, Smith hit Andre Rogers in the end zone to take a 14 point lead. After both teams traded punts, the Seminoles got on the board with 2:14 to play in the half, with a 48 yard FG. Smith led his team down the field one more time before the half, connecting with Larry Robinson for a 16 yard score, with 14 seconds left in the half.

FSU opened the third quarter with a FG, but after that is was all defense from both teams, trading punts until late in the fourth when the Noles' scored on an 8 yard pass, but a failed 2-point attempt, and failed onside kick, effectively ended this one.

    Nov. 28, 2015 Week 15 #4 Miami @ #20 Texas Tech

Miami and Texas Tech squared off in what turned out to be a pretty good game. The Hurricanes scored on their opening drive, when HB Williams plunged in from a yard out. Red Raider QB Reggie Smith, was knocked out temporarily on Tech's third play, and backup Browne quickly threw an interception at the Miami goaline. The Hurricanes were forced to punt on the following drive, but when Reggie Smith returned to the field, he threw a pick at the Miami 33 yard line. After forcing another Miami punt, Tech finally got on the board with a FG; halfway through the second quarter. Miami's run game chewed up most of the remaining time, and Ellis scored on 4th and 1, to give Miami a 14-3 advantage. The Red Raiders hailmary attempt before the half was caught, but stopped at the 1 yard line.

Texas Tech opened the third with another FG, and intercepted Miami QB Austin, three plays later. Unfortunately, Smith was picked off two play after that. Hurricane HB Williams added his second TD on the next drive, to give Miami a 21 - 13 lead to end the third.

The teams traded punts the next two drives, but Tech broke the Stalemate by hitting a wide open Andre Rogers on a drag route, for a 13 yard score. Tech DE Davis made a crucial sack on third down, to force the Hurricane to punt, and Smith set off on a drive with 1:50 left to play. Smith hit a couple of first down throws, but then forced a pass that was intercepted at the Miami 33.

The Bruins capitalized on an interception, and tied the game at 28 all early in the fourth. Smith and Texas Tech grabbed the lead back on a 12 yard TD pass, with 1:58 to play. UCLA drove the the Tech 9 yard line, where they faced a fourth and 2, with 4 seconds remaining. Cannon throws a TD pass as time expires to pull within one.
