"The Rose Bowl: It starts and ends here for us"

This team lacks the talent Coach Max is used to having. He and his staff will be hitting the trail hard, challenging USC and Oregon for croots right off the bat. 15 slots means there should be at least a few playmakers coming in. The Bruins will be leaning heavily on their California pipeline. UCLA must get a RB to commit, and really need some bodies on the OL in the worst way.

UCLA has 3 week 1 commits to announce. All 3 liked everything they heard from Coach Max and are excited about the prospect of playing for him.

    HB(#10) :4stars:
    6'1 205lb Thousand Oaks, CA
    Andre Brown
This is exactly what UCLA needed. They wanted to jump back on the recruiting scene with a big splash recruit, and they did just that locking up the #10 RB. Brown has a good frame, and a good base of athletic ability (B- Speed, Accel, Agility) to improve upon. His isnt a bruiser, or a speed burner, but this kid will develop nicely in Coach Max's scheme.

    FS(#5) :4stars:
    6'1 193lb Palmdale, CA
    Claude Palmer
...and then there's Claude. A big, physical presence at FS. UCLA wants to design a defense with no weak spots and this croot certainly will help in that area. He has the size and speed (B Speed, Accel, B+ Agility) and has a mean streak. His HS highlight reel is all over youtube. He can bring the pain (B+ Hit power). Look for him to jump into a starting role very soon.

    DT(#9) :4stars:
    6'2 253lb Beverly Hills, CA
    Caleb Wesley
Dont call him Hollywood or '90210'. If UCLA is to rebuild into a power in a short amount of time it will start in the trenches. Wesley's strength (B) and acceleration (C) will help him at the next level. The Bruins have a pair of talented Freshman DTs right now, so he may not be the starter but, he will definitely see the field in backup duty his rookie year.

    SS(#6) :4stars:
    6'3 196lb Florence-Graham, CA
    Jake "The Snake" Jones
UCLA locks up a really solid-looking croot in Jones. He isnt great at any one thing, but he isnt terrible at anything either. He probably wont come in and steal All-American SS Ronald Lopez' spot, but he could possibly make the 2-deep as a true frosh. He lacks elite speed, but has the size and mean streak you look for in a S.

    T(#3) :4stars:
    6'4 290lb Spring Valley, CA
    "Big" Brad Joseph
Coach Max has secured a croot he hopes will become a bookend for his 2 young QBs. Joseph is quick off the line and has a balanced set of blocking skills. He needs to hit the bench press and get into UCLA's conditioning program ASAP though. He will most likely see some action next year as a true Freshman. Bruin fans should be pleased with this signing.

    K(#5) :2stars:
    5'11 178lb Barling, AR
    D.J. Sherman
What a steal this kid was at a :2stars:. Yes, he is a JUCO so the coaches will only get 2 years out of him... but this is exactly what UCLA needs. Having an elite kicker will help the Bruins compete with the big boys of their conference and will help immensely in the field position battle. (A+ Kick Power, A- AWR)

A+ kick power... that is sick

Nice find, I apparently need to look further down the list. Actually I think I only had one K/P on my board and lost him, so I will probably get a walk-on.

    DT(#5) :4stars:
    6'2 261lb Kealakekua, HI
    Troy Manson
No not that Manson, but Coach Max is hoping he will be a killer DT. Manson is one of the top DT prospects in the country with quick feet, and he is in good physical condition for an incoming Freshman. He will definitely see reps backing up UCLA's young D-Line. Not much to complain about with this recruit. He could work on his tackling technique, but that is the Bruins HC's specialty.

    T(#5) :4stars:
    6'6 275lb La Habra, CA
    Mike Wade
Chalk up another top-flight Tackle for the Bruins. Wade and Joseph will anchor the edges for the Bruins for many seasons to come. He gets off the line at an elite level(A+ Accel C- Speed) and is a force in the run-game(B+ Run Block Str). All he needs to do is hit the bench-press and he will be an NFL prospect in no time.

    T(#11) :4stars:
    6'6 288lb Newport Beach, CA
    Anthony Hall
Still trying to round out the trenches. A crappy o-line cost us the UGA game. Hall makes for the 3rd Tackle recruited by the Bruins. One of them, or another player already on the team may end up switching to Guard though. We only have 1 Guard on the board and it looks like we'll land him, but UCLA is definitely hurting at the Guard spot.

    MLB(#14) :4stars:
    6'0 227lb Campbell, CA
    Lance Phillips
Coaches are excited about this LB. Phillips will bring athleticism to a LB corps that loses talent after this season. B+ Accel, B- Speed, and C Agi make up his physical attributes. His coverage/tackle skills are all about C+. He should develop into a good player.

    WR(#4) :5stars:
    5'11 181lb Pasadena, CA
    Ryan Cox
UCLA's headliner recruit. Cox looks to be the marquee signing for Coach Max this season. The hometown hero spurned all other offers and was basically a UCLA commit from day 1 (His older brother Adam Cox is a (RS)Junior WR for the Bruins already). What he lacks in elite speed (B) he makes up for ball skills. His route running is impeccable and he has good hands. He will come in and make an impact immediately. UCLA only has 1 Senior WR graduating, but Schroeder and Hurd may elect to head to the NFL early. No matter what the depth chart looks like when Ryan gets to campus, it has been stated by Coach Max himself that if Cox plays like he did in HS he will be a starter.
