    Kentucky,

Today at kentucky the 4-3 Auburn Tigers come in looking to improve on there bowl chances against the 3-4 Wildcats. in somewhat of a suprise the game was a defensive struggle for 4 qtrs.

The first qtr. was all Auburn as they drove inside Wildcat territory on all 3 possessions. Once inside the 20 and twice inside the 30. The Wildcat defense was able to come up with big plays getting a third down sack, and forcing two field goals, one from 34 and the other from 41. The Tigers kicker missed both wide and the score was 0-0 through 1.
The Wildcats had punted on both there poessissions and were looking to change there gameplan. The Wildcats came out, after the missed field goal, and started running the bal. they drove down inside the 30 when the Tigers picked off a tipped pass and raced 73 yards for a td and a 7-0 lead. The wildcats came right back on a 10 play drive(8 runs) and tied it up on a 4 yard td run by Brown. 30 seconds later the Tigers caught the Wildcats in an all out blitz and hit a out pass for a 3 yard catch. One broken tackle later it was a 73 yard td pass. the Wildcats returned the favor at the end of the half by hitting tight end Brooks(on a blitz) on an out pass for a 19 yard td pass with 29 seconds later. Tied 14-14 at half.

The third qtr. was all defense. the Wildcats couldnt do anything throwing two picks and punting once while the Wildcat defense stiffened and forced punts on all three Tiger possessions inside Wildcat territorty. 14-14 end of third.
The fourth was no different as the defenses continued to dominate. Another wildcat pick and 2 punts later had Auburn first and ten on there on 33 with 2:30 left. Thats when Wildcat Dt Barrett stripped Tigers hb smith and Freshman olb Parker recovered at the 36. 5 plays later and the Wildcats had a 3rd and 8 from the 17 yard line with 3 seconds left. After a wildcat timeout the Tigers tried to ice the kicker with 3 straight timeouts. The kick is up and.......... GOOOOOD from 34 yards out. The Wildcats Freshman kicker just hooked it in the right goalpost and just got it over the crossbar. Wildcats 17, tigers 14.

Coach PNC was so excited he helped carry the freshman kicker off the field after the excitement had died down. Huge upset win for our program as we improved to 4-4 and know we have a realistic shot at a second straight bowl as we look to improve on our two game winning streak next week when we play the mighty Bulldogs from Georgia.

The Panthers earned their fourth conference victory of the year today against the Cardinals in blow out fashion. Seth Tate threw for four touchdowns and Marcus Davenport ran for 138 yards. The Panther defense held Louisville's spread passing attack to only 169 yards. After loosing their first two games the Panthers have now won 6 straight. Next week's backyard brawl in Morgantown will likely again crown the winner of the Big East.

Yeah, huge blowout. I couldn't stop his passing attack or his rushing attack with that elusive FB. Maybe I could've scored more points if not for a few drops by my Heisman candidate WR. Can't be too upset after this since I would never have a chance against Nautica and this Notre Dame team. I'm just perplexed at this game was so lopsided. Stone only caught 2 passes for about 25 yards. Good game to Nautica and Notre Dame, so now Navy is now 8-1 with games against UNC, Oregon St., and Kentucky left on the schedule.

Turnovers, time of possession, and third down percentage was the three keys to success for Miami Saturday night at Lane Stadium. QB Marshall Moore had an almost perfect night going 14 of 16 with 159 yards and a TD pass. HB Paul Howell had a busy night with 30 attempts for a whopping 140 yards and 4 TDs. WR Zac Burton had 3 catches for a TD with 27 total yards.
The defense held theirs and only allowed 74 rushing yards the entire game. Miami only allowed 264 passing yards and a portion of that came towards end of the game. There were two interception this game and two fumbles created by the Hurrican defense. Pat Johnson and Lance Dawson came up with the two pics.

    Stats:

    Miami VA Tech 17 1st downs 13
    319 total offense 338
    160 rush 74
    159 pass 264
    9-11 (81)% 3rddown % 3-4(75)%
    0 turnovers 4
    20:46 time of possession 11:14

Next week Miami is home against the Fighting Irish in a top 10 showdown that should determine how good our beloved Hurricanes are. Go "U"!!!

    #23 Clemson 38
    Maryland 10

Clemson came into todays game looking to take out some of their frustrations after losing big to Ga. Tech the week before. Emotions must have been high the first quarter for the Tigers because the couldn't seem to get anything going on offense. Both teams managed a FG in the first period. The 2nd began and shortly thereafter, there was "Orange in the endzone". Sammy Watkins caught his first TD of the game on a 27 yard pattern, putting Clemson up 10 - 7.

Maryland scored their last points of the game in the 3rd quarter making it 24 - 10 Clemson. The story of the game for Maryland was turnovers. The Terps had 4 lost fumbles on the day, allowing a somewhat sputtering Tiger offense too many chances to get going. The Tiger D was embarrassed last week, but they came with an attitude in this one.

    Wake Forest - 7
    VT - 38

The story in Blacksburg was the Hokie defense's ability to rebound from an embarrassing performance against Miami to hold Wake Forest to only 22 yard rushing on 32 carries. The Hokie D also forced five turnovers, a fumble and four interceptions, two of which led to a defensive score.

On offense it was a struggle to get the passing game going with Eric Clemons throwing only one TD and two INTs and accounting for only 150 passing yards, but freshman RB Erik Salyer picked up the slack carrying the ball 20 times for 168 yards and two TDs.

    POTG: E. Salyer - RB, 20 car. 168 yards, 2 TD. 8.4 YPC, long of 46 yards
