The Blackshirt defense held the Jayhawks to 18 yards on the ground and let their heralded running attack do the rest. Nebraska had 295 yards on the ground, with the red hot Marcus Young accounting for 191 of those and 3 TD's. Freshman Brian Avery added a pair of rushing scores in mop up duty.

The Bucks played great today as they shut out the Golden Gophers at home to earn their third win of the season, one they hope to turn around and earn a decent bowl. Rhoden played great as well as HB Richards. Stats and highlights will come later.

Austin had a tremendous first half and helped Miami jump out to a big lead. He finished the half 12-13 240 yards and 3 TD. The big play was a 73 yard TD to Allen just before the end of the half. In the second half Miami went mostly ground so Austin didn't do much. His backfield mate Ellis did some damage, finishing with 100 yards and a pair of short TD runs. On defensive side Miami gave up some big plays to the dangerous Tech receivers but didn't let the Hokies string together many long drives. Matthews grabbed the only turnover for Miami, an interception in VT's final drive.

In sad news for Miami, backup tailback and starting returner Jones will miss the rest of the season. He broke his collarbone in the second quarter and his best hope is returning for spring practices. In his place at punt returner, Clayton botched 2 returns. Luckily he was able to dive on top of both before a Tech player got down field.

Baylor is a bunch of BS Bears, but it was not enough to save their hide. Texas Tech makes it 6 in a row, beating their rival 41 - 24.

My QB threw four TD's, and they only gave him credit for three. What? It shows four TD receptions by the receivers. Larry Robinson had 7 catches for 149 yards and 2 TD's, one on a pass tipped by the CB into his hands in the end zone that had to be challenged to get.

We find out next week if the Red Raiders are for real, as they go on the road to face Texas.

The Sooner offense was hitting on all cylanders. Culp threw for over 300 yards, Benjamin added 3 rushing TD's and Marks had 2 recieving TD's and a kick return for a TD.

The Ducks had no trouble with the Huskies' option offense while the Oregon offense jumped all over a weak defense. Townes rushed for over a 100 yards on 28 rushes with a couple of scores. Both qb's (Jenkins and Brown) saw time under center and performed well. The highlight of the day of the Ducks defense however, was when senior DT Jamie Smith read a screen pass to perfection, making his first career interception and almost taking it to the house.

Florida State donned the black jerseys in front of a capacity crowd at the Doak. The game was tight in first half, tied 14-14 at one point in the second quarter. FSU would use a balanced attack on offense and a ball-hawking defense to end the game on a 24-point run. The bomb squad even got to play in the 4th quarter, with the second D creating a turnover. Third team HB So Anthony Smith looked good on 9 carries and may get some looks at the #2 HB spot.
