    Pitt 37 Rutgers 3

The Panthers picked up their second win of the year in a convincing manner dominating the Scarlet Knights. Once again Seth Tate threw for over 300 yards and a pair of touchdowns, however the true star of the game was Marcus Davenport. The senior running back carried a season high 33 times for 170 yards and two scores. The Panther defense looked dominant for the second straight game holding Rutgers to only a field goal. Next up for Pitt are two crucial conference games followed by a visit from Notre Dame. Coach BigKing is likely to miss all three of these games for what the university describes as personal reasons.

I didn't think the fan base would like that reason.

    Navy 31
    Cal 17

On offense, Navy looked lost without their two top halfbacks who were out with injuries. They were able to have an offensive explosion in the 4th to pull away from Cal. Up 16-10 Navy could not move the ball until the started a TD drive that was capped with a 2 yard run with 3:49 to go up 24-10. A Cal turnover led to WR Matt Stone running for another 2 yard TD run. David Jones took over for the 2 injured tailbacks and was able to run for 137 yards on 25 carries, but most of the yards were in the 4th quarter. 2nd stringer Shelton Spencer will return next week. Navy was ranked for the first time this week at #23 and is now a remarkable 6-0.

    Navy Stats
Eric McBride (QB)- 8-22 for 137 yards, TD, INT, 7 carries for 49 yards
David Jones (HB)- 25 carries for 137 yards
Matt Stone (WR)- 4 receptions for 89 yards, TD, 7 carries for 16 yards, TD
Derrick White (MLB)- 9 tackles, 3 TFL, sack
Will Tyson (MLB)- 8 tackles, 2 TFL, FR

Miami's quest for the BCS National Championship took another step closer last night with an dominating defeat over ACC conference opponent Duke University. This was absolutey no contest. QB Marshall Moore was only in the game for a short time because it was 28-0 before the second quarter even began. However, he managed to go 7-10 with 77 yards passing and 2 TD passes and 1 rushing TD. Desmond Wallace entered the game and went 3-4 for 43 yards and 1 TD pass.
HB Loren Dukes a senior who has been behind the shadow of HB Paul Howell had a breakout performance as the second string HB. However, he is expected to miss 7-8 weeks do to injury in the latter portions of the game. Dukes had 20 carries for 196 yards and 2 TD's. His amazing 53 yard TD run was the highlight of the game. It should be on ESPN's #1 play of the week if you ask me. Paul Howell was also pulled from the game early on because of the big lead. Howell had 12 attempts for 103 yards and 1 TD. #rd string HB Jeff Graham had 4 attempts for 77 yards and 1 TD at the closing minutes of the game. I'm sure the coach didnt want to score again but when you are trying to chew out the clock by running the ball and a whole as wide as the Red Sea opens up you are going to take it. Marshall Moore had 3 scrambles for 28 yards and 1 TD.
TE Jimmy Brown had 2 receptions and 1 TD. All-American WR O.J. Jones had 2 receptions and 1 TD. WR Luke Swain had 1 reception for a TD as well.

Sacks: Curtis Washington and Nick Taylor each had 1.

    Interceptions: Travis Harris

Forced Fumbles: Dan Tillman, Chuck Mayhew, Curtis Washington, and John Lundy.

Miami exited the week as #6 in the polls and look to move up after a blowout win against the University of Duke.

    Go Canes!!!

Columbia, S.C.- The University of Kentucky Wildcats traveled to Cola Town to take on the home town Gamecocks in a battle of unranked teams. Both teams have coaches trying to rebuild and climb the ladder in the SEC Eastern division.

This game came down to one last possession, and the fans at Williams-Brice Stadium once again got their moneys worth. The Gamecocks and Wildcats put on an offensive fireworks show for all in attendance that won't soon be forgotten!
