    Game of the Week:

The Bruins take care of business at home, defeating the Cardinal by 10. Robert Cannon had another big day, going over 300 yards with 4 TD's. But the int bug keeps creeping up on him. The Bruin offense looks to improve in the coming weeks on turnover differential as the Pac 10 season winds up.

The Huskers avenge last season's only 2 losses in the sloppy rain in Austin. Marcus Young had 132 yds rushing and 2 TD's as Nebraska held the ball for nearly 24 minutes. Drew Peterson was a perfect 5-5 for 94 yds with 2 TD's in a yeoman's effort. The story of the game was the weather, which played perfectly into Nebraska's power rushing game. The Horns had an interception and fumble lost early and they couldn't recover.

Sloppy game by both offenses. OSU would throw 2 picks in the first quarter, both of which were converted into TD's by the Sooner offense. The second quarter was the exact opposite. The Sooner QB Culp would throw 3 picks, all three were converted into TD's. 21-14 at half. Three more INT's would be thrown in the 2nd half, that would make 8 for the game. Oklahoma hangs on late as Chaz Benjamin scores the game winning TD with 37 seconds left in the game.

Texas Tech keeps rolling, beating the Colorado Buffaloes at home, 35-21. The Red Raiders move to 5 - 2 overall, 5 - 0 in conference play. Next week Texas Tech travels to Baylor, to play their always feisty rival.

USC continues to roll through the pac-10 season as they seem to be stuck at #7 on the polls. They had a loss this week with QB Merriman going down for 2 weeks. Strong play from the defense and HB Drew helped to seal the W. USC goes on a BYE before playing washington the week after.

Miami's coach returned to the sidelines and his first game back nets the Canes another win. Ellis and Austin were the leaders on the offensive side of the ball. Austin had 200 yards passing and a pair of touchdowns. Ellis finished the game with 130 yards rushing and he punched in a short score. On the defensive side Miami gave up some yardage but played solid defense when UNC had chances to score. UNC had the ball inside the Miami 40 yard line 4 times in this game. They came away with just 3 points thanks to a pair of missed field goals and a 4th down stop.

Next up for Miami is an important divisional matchup with Virginia Tech. The winner of that game will control their own destiny for a shot in conference championship game.

This was a frustrating game to play. The computer was in God mode the entire game - registering 15 broken tackles and 20+ pancakes. The computer also made my receivers drop 12 balls. I was planning on putting together a bloopers reel, but I forgot to save some highlights before I exited the game. The lone bright spot of the game was a 94 yard kick return for a TD by Fr HB Garrett Butler to tie the game at 14. Sr HB Kevin Vaughn ended his Heisman candidacy by rushing 9 times for 38 yards and 1 TD.
