OFFENSE: The Spartans come into 2016 with questions marks except at the QB and RB positions. This year the Spartans have RS Sr QB O'Connor leading the offense with a deadly accurate arm (Acc: 97). This is his first and only year as a starter so look for him to mark his mark on NFL General managers. Lining up behind him is returning RB RS Sr Nick Tompkins. While the wide receiving core is very deep thanks to the recruiting juggernaut that is MSU in the WR department, many have not seen the field yet and their nerves will be tested with their very first game on the road against Arkansas.

    Strength: Wide Receivers

    Weakness: Outside Lineman (Tackles)

DEFENSE: RE Shilique Calhoun, who won every major defensive award last year including Lombardi, Nagurski and Bendarik, has graduated and left the QB chasing to RE Tony Butler who will command double teams through-out the year. This Spartan defense is currently in rebuilding but has a laundry list of young talent that will be strong for years to come. MLB Darren Fraser who competed for Overdrive Freshman of the Year last year will anchor the middle of the defense while standout Sr DT Joseph Huff will anchor the defensive line.

    Strength: Defensive Line

    Weakness: Safeties

Recruiting: Teams Needs: None. Scholarships - 10

@ 27 Freshman and only 8 Seniors, this year's Spartans are off to a rough 0-1 start after week one. Coach Fmode will be able to be very particular who he hands out Scholarships for a few seasons. Stay tuned as the board is filed. This might move later into the season though.

    Week 3:

RB Tompkins rushes for 157 yds and 2 TD against the Golden Domers for the Megaphone trophy at home. Spartans add a safety - win 27-10.

In recruiting news, MSU received a week 3 instant commit by a MONSTER at defensive end. Josh Morris has great speed/acc skills while overall great block shedding skills. Notice to all, this guy will be playing next year and putting a lot of QB's on their backs.

If RE Butler stays for his senior year, Morris will line-up on the other end and position MSU with one talented line. Coach Fmode is beginning to mold this MSU defense into the real life team, Narduzzi style.

    Week 7

After 2 bad sim losses on the road.... The Spartans bounce back to survive an OT thriller at #4 Wisconsin.

After Wisco lost their starting QB they would still not be denied. Their offense continued to keep the Spartan defense on the field completing long third downs often. Wisco scored on the last play from regulation as an assumed interception in the endzone was caught going right through the hands of MSU CB Rucker. Luckily for MSU, Wisco QB scrambling on the first play in overtime fumbled (highlight on d-wire). MSU gets a solid B1G road victory and the March for Indy is still alive.

In recruiting news, MSU received commits from two top o-lineman (#1 C & #10 G) and also the #3 OLB.
