The Sooner defense loses several playmakers from 2015. Stud linebackers Jon Burgess and Joe Arrington have both graduated while standout cornerback Joe Cooper decided to leave early for the NFL. The strength of the team is at defensive tackle where 99-rated Adam Wright patrols the middle and should contend for all-American honors. The secondary is talented but young, and will surely be tested in the pass heavy Big XII.

The Oklahoma offense losses five starters from last season’s Big 12 champs and will have to retool for the 2016 campaign. Derrick Frederick will again start at quarterback and hopes to improve on last season, when he threw 15 interceptions. He will have two very talented backs to hand the ball in Corny Turner and Thomas Stewart. Stewart was the go-to as a freshman, Turner was last season when both were sophomores. They may split more carries as juniors.
