Well the season opened up for your #1 Alabama Crimson Tide with the #8 USC Trojans coming to T-Town. This was a rematch of two power house teams that just competed in the Rose Bowl where the Tide got the best of the Trojans and came away with the win. USC came to make some noise in the BCS Championship this year and knock off the Tide from their #1 ranking like they did at the start of last season. The start of the game had both teams offense sputtering and forced to punt the ball, but the Bama defense stepped up big all game and held the Trojans in check to allow the Tide to jump out to a 35-7 lead at half time and held the Trojans to another 7 pts in the 3rd Quarter. With the score being 35-14 going into the 4th quarter the Tide would score again making it 42-14. Alabama started to run the ball on a consistent basis to run the clock out and not run the score up against the USC Trojans. Coach Magoo has a lot of respect for Coach Young and gives him props for punting the ball on a late pitch on an option and where the qb was clearly going down and tackled and the ball was pitched and ended up converting it into a first down.
With Bama running the ball almost entirely the Trojans defense stopped the Tide on a regular basis forcing many punts. The Trojans went pass crazy while the Tide was in a conservative mode making USC drive down the field eating up clock and not allowing anything over their heads. USC came back slowly and got the game to 42-35 but the Tide just ate up to much clock and the game ended with the Tide coming away with the win. Now the Tide looks to take on now #8 Clemson Tigers at Clemson.

After a heart breaking lost to a talented Clemson Tiger team while on the road, Bama had to toughen up and forget the loss. They go to Florida State to take on the Seminoles who were ranked #1 after the Tide loss. If Alabama could get by the Seminoles with a win, it would put them back in the title picture. Grated they still have a number of games to go but this would keep the hope alive. Both coaches were looking to knock the piss out of each others team. In a last second drive the Tide threw a TD pass with 2 seconds left in the game to take the lead from the FSU 16 yard line. It was a great game for both coaches and both now have one loss on the seasoon. The Seminoles did knock the starting HB out for 12 weeks which could prove troublesome as the season progresses. Come the next week as the Vanderbilt game was no contest, but the big development was the Tide losing another running back for 5 weeks leaving the Tide running duties to a freshman.

The Alabama Crimson Tide exacted some revenge last night on the Arkansas. They smacked the #14 Razorbacks 48-10 and knocked their starting halfback out of the game and possibly for a longer period. Now the Tide can continue to roll onto their next opponent. The stud freshman running back Foster came away with 5 touchdowns and over 200 yards rushing. The tide cant wait till they get their half back from injured reserbe list in4 more weeks. Roll Tide!!!

Longhorns get their first conference win of the season in a tune-up for #1 Oklahoma next week. The Longhorns won the time of possesion by 10 mins and held Kansas to -33 yards rushing, while also scoring multiple defensive touchdowns. HB Marcus Thompson ran for 160 yards and a TD.. We will have to throw the ball better on 3rd down if we wanna have a shot at the upset come next Saturday against the Sooners..

Texas Tech 42 Iowa State 14

Texas Tech wins its third straight after a slow start.

Texas Tech was unable to get much done through much through the first half, turning the ball over twice and only mustering two field goals down 14-6 until the end of the 2nd quarter when CB Eric Hill came up with a huge interception returning it 41 yards for the first Tech touchdown of the day. The Tech defense clamped down after that, and the Red Raiders were able to pick up their third straight win. Tech defense had a big day overall, forcing six turnovers. QB Drew Smiley ended the day with 413 yards and 3 touchdowns, but threw his first two interceptions of the year. Nine receivers caught passes.

Texas Tech will have a bye next week before playing host to Kansas State.

This game started out slow with both teams trading punts the whole first quarter. We had two huge plays both accounting for over 70 yards each and a two touchdowns in the second quarter that really blew the game open.. After that we were able to chew clock the whole second half and limit their possessions.. Oklahoma St. had two costly turnovers in the second half, one on a INT, and the other was a failed 4th down conversion..
Next week we travel to Missouri to play the Tigers who boast a win over previous #1 Oklahoma earlier this year..

The Longhorns defense came to play against the Tigers forcing 6 punts, most coming in the first half. A couple of big plays on offense gave Texas a 24-0 lead at the half. However sloppy red zone offense and two missed FG's prevented what could have been a runaway. The Senior WR Howard Summers was injured on his first quarter catch and will miss 10 weeks. Which means he might have played his last collegiate game for the Longhorns. Starting HB Marcus Thompson also received a game ending injury after only 3 carries, however it looks like he will be back in two weeks for our huge matchup with Texas Tech.
Offensive MVP: Back-up HB Jonathan Cook came in after the early injury to the starter and gave us some good hard running, 21 carries for 109 yards and a TD.
Defense MVP: Sophomore CB Kyle Brown stepped up and had 10 tackles, a sack, and an INT.
Next week the Longhorns have a bye week..
