The Amateur draft is now enabled in statslab. You MUST use statslab for the draft. You can find it here:

    http://traditionsportsonline.com/tso-ootp/StatsLab/admin.php

I highly recommend completing as much information as possible, especially an email address so that you can get email alerts and what not. Changing your password is highly recommended. The default password is "baseball"

Moving forward all drafts will be conducted on Statslab.

You will have until Sunday 10 AM EST to complete a draft list in Statslab if you wish.

Starting Sunday, the timer will start. And will run until 9 PM EST. Round 1 will be a 3 hour timer. Rounds 2 and beyond will be a 2 hour timer. Each following day will run from 9AM-9PM with a 2 hour timer.

If any of your picks are auto picked, you will be placed on auto the remainder of the draft.

    To draft:

    1. Click the draft tab
    2. Click Team War Room
    3. Check the box of the player you wish to draft
    4. In the "action" box directly above the player list, the players name will populate and the option to draft player will light up. Click Draft player.
    To Create a draft list:
    1. Check the box of the player you wish to draft
    2. In the "action" box directly above the player list, select "add to list"
    3. The player will now appear in the top portion and they can then be ranked accordingly.
    4. SAVE
One huge item of note... There appear to be some discrepancies within Statslab with potential ratings of some players displaying differently. I am unsure of what is causing the discrepancies. When you click the player it will take you to the reports page, which will show the correct ratings. They are very similar, just slightly off. We are working to get this resolved.

The player pages will be updated tonight either by Shaun Mason or myself. Until then, please cross reference the players in OOTP.

    Any questions... Post here.

Btw, why is the draft order different in OOTP then StatsLab? StatsLab shows me as having a supplemental pick, OOTP doesnt.

Also.. our first draft will be a bit buggy, so bear with me. I need to edit the supplemental round order when we get to it.

I had two, Tyler Clippard and Rick Porcello that were in the bottom "you can offer them arbitration but if they walk you get a comp pick", so I thought I would have one. They both got signed, but OOTP didnt show me with a supplemental pick.

Those guys weren't compensation eligible. If they were, everyone would be.

So.. why were they in that section and not just FAs when their contracts were up?

How did the Royals manage to get the #3 and #4 picks in both the first and second rounds?

Thats the whole point. You offer them arbitration, but they can decline it and become FAs. If you do so they become comp picks. Atleast thats what it says when you to go to the arbitration page.

I've honestly never seen a guy become a compensation eligible free agent after offering them arbitration. I'd say there's been at least 20 guys i've offered arby to in that screen and none of them became Comp eligible. I think its a situation where you either are from the start of the offseason or you're not. The arbitration offer really has no impact on it.

Their arbritartion offer has to be within top 125 contracts in MLB or something like that.

There is some qualification # where the offer has to be a certain amount.

On the arbitration screen there is two sections. The top is players that get arbitration contracts no matter what, you basically just get to offer a salary and an arbitration hearing determines whether or not the player gets the contract you offered or higher money. I think those are players that have 6 (might be less) or less years at the major league level.

The bottom section is players that are basically restricted free agents. You offer them a "arbitration" contract they decline or accept. If they decline they become a comp pick.

Unfortunately, I don't think it tells us what the average of the 125 contracts is in the game. Usually, the arbritration offer has to be 12M+ to count as compensation offer.

the top section is guys who are still under your control. the bottom section is veterans who can decline arbitration, if they are comp. eligible it will say.
