Miami escapes Chapel Hill with a Win

    MIA 7 17 14 7 45
    UNC 14 21 6 0 41

    1st Quarter
Opening kickoff Miami is careless and loses the ball which UNC runs into the endzone for 6 which started the MO towards the Heels. They would make it 14-0 before Miami would get into the endzone on a Thornton rushing TD.

    2nd Quarter
UNC would take a late pitch, which Blaza called cheesy and I didnt want to pitch it in the situation but before, QB was wrapped up when the pitched occurred and Safety Phillips took it back for 6; 21-7 UNC. Miami would quickly answer with Pollard hitting Conley for 29 yard TD, 21-14. The Canes would get a FG on the next drive but the Heels would answer with a TD. Noneless Richard Smith housed the ensuing kickoff 95 yards, but UNC would hit a 51 yard TD pass to end the 1st half up 35-24.

    3rd Quarter
Tar Heels would open the 2nd half with a 40 yard FG and Miami would go down on another Thornton rushing TD, 38-31. The Canes would hold UNC to another FG pushing the lead back to ten. Miami wouldn't break as Pollard hit Foster on a 52 yard TD pass, 41-38. Setting up a dramatic 4th quarter.

    4th Quarter
UNC was inside the 10 and 5 during their possession and Coach Blaza decided to go for it 4th and goal on the 1.5 yard line. The back was spun around and landed just outside the goalline turning the ball over on downs with less than 4:00 to go. Miami took the possession on the legs and arm of QB Pollard as he led them down the field and scored with 1:02 left putting the Canes up 45-41.

Great game Knoles. I thought I had you down for the count but you fought back. I was kidding about the pitch--I figured it was just a late last ditch tap of the button in the crowd. Hope to see you again in the 'Chip game.
