    THE OFFENSE

Offensively the 2018 Longhorns will be led on the field by Senior RS QB Tyrone McCoy who has started the past two seasons. Even though he only had less passing attempts by and yards last season his QB rating went up from 114.5 to 124.2 last season so hopefully this season he will continue to be efficient and limit turnovers like season..

The running game will have to avoid injuries this season as we are pretty thin only having one upper class-man..Junior(RS) Andy Wilkerson will be the starter after having only 1 carry in his career at Texas thus far, but he has the speed and quickness to follow in the footsteps of last years impressive ground game.. Cedric Swanson will also be expected to contribute as only a FR(RS).. We will start Xavier Murray a true freshman at FB and he will need to grow up quick as much as we will run the ball..

The receiving core doesn't have the true go-to-guy that I would like to have but the consistency that they have shown is what makes this a solid group of receivers. They don't drop many balls and most of them are big guys who run really well for there size..Our best receivers the last two seasons has been the open ones and not much will change with that this seasson..

Kyle Swain is back for his Junior year and will take over the spot as the new #1 TE.. He will make a big impact for us in both the air and ground game.. I'm also excited to see what contributions true freshman Marques Horner will make..

The offensive line will be led by Senior(RS) Center Brandon Harris (95overall) and he will have some good young talent to on the line with him this year as we will be starting three Sophomores..Also 6'7 Senior LT Luke Leonard (89overall) looks to help protect McCoy's this season with his length on the edge..

    THE DEFENSE

The defensive line has two newcomers and two veterans, however all are very talented..All-American DT Jabari Mosley has 23 sacks the last two seasons and he will look to have another 10+ sack year..RE Ethan Dotson is a player that will be all over the field this year trying to get back to the numbers he put up his Sophomore campaign after a slight drop off in production last year..

We might have one of the most talented group of Linebackers in the nation, along with the University of Alabama..All three starters return from last year and will really set us up for a great year defensively..Senior(RS) Curtis Mitchell (94overall) will be the leader of this group and have a huge impact in coverage as well as rushing the passer..

In coverage we have All-American Junior(RS) Herman Stanley..All this kid did as a sophomore was make big plays for this team.. Recording 8 INT's, 3 sacks, 31 tackles, and 5 defensive TD's.. This might be his last year at Texas if he puts up those type of numbers again.. Junior(RS) FS Allen Jack is one of the most talented players on the defense and can play the pass recording 3 INT's last season as well as lay the lumber, stepping up making huge hits on HB's..

Kicker Matt Johnson is back for his last year at Texas and looking to continue his improvement from last season..His 99 kick power will be a weapon on kickoffs as well as FG's.. Last year hitting from 55 yards.. Just needs to improve on his FG% which was 70% last season..He will also do the punting this season as well, averaging 43 yards a punt last season..
