    UCF- 49 NT-24

UCF met the Mean Green of North Texas tonight and faced what is probably the toughest team they have seen all season. The first quarter was a very slow start, as both teams were being patient and working the entire field on their opening drives. NT moved the ball very well but on a 3rd and long deep in UCF territory, they gave up a very costly sack making it a difficult field goal attempt that Evans would miss. UCF took over and managed a patient drive of their own, as they worked down the field and then they hit Antoine Lumpkin on a 28 yard post route off the play action. Lumpkin would prove to be a huge mismatch in this one, as he was in the week 1 game against Utah.

The next drive was quick and consisted of plays taking large chunks out of the UCF defense. Once again, however, NT stalled in the redzone and were forced to attempt a field goal. Evans nailed the 28 yarder to bring the score 7-3. UCF marched down the field once again, with a NT defense that was being very patient and waiting for a mistake, and they were rewarded. QB David Poole was sacked for a HUGE loss taking UCF out of field goal range and forcing a punt. NT then worked the clock very patiently to score with a mere 23 seconds left in the first half with a lead of 10-7. Instead of being content with the score, Heisman hopeful David Poole attacked the North Texas defense in a fury to score as time expired on a risky run up the middle with no time left on the clock by HB AJ Lee.

The Knights took the kickoff to start the third quarter and the momentum they carried into the half continued. They were able to find WR Antione Lumpkin once again on a 28 yarder for his second TD reception of the day. The next two NT possessions ended in interceptions and UCF capitalized on the short fields. 28 unanswered points from the end of the first half and the 3rd quarter proved to be too much to come back from for the Mean Green, with the final score ending 49-24.

The key for this win was the redzone defense once again for UCF and their mismatch with the speedy WR Antoine Lumpkin, who had 4 TDs on the day. It seems defenses are paying quite a bit of attention to WR Anthony Mark after his Biletnekoff winning season last year and Lumpkin’s speed is too much for the #2 corner he has been matched up against. These two themes follow right along what led them to victory two weeks ago against Utah as well, it will be interesting to see if it holds true throughout the rest of the season. For NT, they had a very balanced offensive attack and great play out of their QB Reid who went just under 300 yards. Their balance on offense and spectacular linebacker play will carry them far this season.

POG: Antoine Lumpkin 8 REC 192 YDS 4 TD

Good game qclassic 22 best of luck the rest of the way. You've gotten that NT team to be pretty solid all around.

    TIGERS STEAMROLL AGGIES 59-0

The LSU Tigers played as good of a game as they've played this year, dominating in pretty much every facet of the game. The defense got to the A&M QB right out of the gate, tormenting him every play. You could tell they got to him as he would get happy feet and try to scramble away from a hungry defensive line. On the day, the defense racked up 9 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries and a interception. The Aggie offense didn't cross the 100 total yards barrier until their last drive of the game. The offense played well too, racking up 400 yards on the ground and close to 150 through the air.
