Steelers Win Season Opener, Missed FGs a problem

Steelers start out 1-0 behind good redzone defense, Big Ben's near perfect day and Le'Veon Bell getting on the board early. Steelers would hold the Pats to FGs all day, until late in the 2nd half they left a receiver open down field and he walked into the endzone. On their first possession, Bell took the Steelers down the field with a highlight reel 53 yard TD run to put the Steelers up 7-3. After that, the Patriots managed a FG and a safety to put them up 12-7. Before the half ran out, Steelers scored a TD and forced a turnover to go up 17-12. Pats were playing catch up after that. Texans visit the Bucs week 1

This game started the 1st time and was a defensive battle going into the half 6-0 Bucs when a disco happened.

The second game was much different as the offenses lit the field up with both QB's going off for 300+. The biggest difference in the game was turnovers. 2nd year CB Mims finally notched his 1st NFL pick and then a 2nd. The Bucs relied heavily on Evans who we are starting to get a good feel for finally. We also were able to hit to huge plays to TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins who got open on a nice PA pass play for a 64 yard catch and run and then late after yet another PI in the endzone on our corners this time on 4th and 7 from about the Texans 45 yard line on a ball that was overthrown by ten yards we decided it was a good idea to tackle the WR for some reason giving the Texans an easy score to get within 31-26.

With the Texans expecting a run we came out in two TEs and hit Austin Seferian-Jenkins again on a deep post who got behind everyone on the D as they were up taking away the run and he was off to the races for an 80 yard TD to pretty much seal the deal.

The Texans never gave up though driving again deep into Bucs territory but we would lock down in the redzone finally and get outta the season opening shootout with a W 38-26.

    Week 3

    Cowboys 21 @ Patriots 35

This final score was the result of an ugly game. 10 total INTs, 5 for each QB. This was after a disco that was a mostly clean game in the 2nd. In the end it was a desperately need win for the Pats. GG xSavedByGracex GL the rest of the way.

    Week 3

    Titans 31
    Browns 24

The Titans get there first win of the season this week against a very good Cleveland team. Things looked grim early as the Titans found themselves down 21-7 but were able to make an incredible comeback and take the lead in the 4th on a remarkable run from Bishop Sankey to put the Titans up 31-24 middle of the 4th. Cleveland began there march to tie the game and got inside the Tennessee redzone with just over 4 minutes remaining when CB Gerard Greenwood intercepted the pass intended for Lucas Parks in the endzone to end the threat. Tennessee would run out the remainder of the clock to seal the victory. Great game greatnessdc

    49ers Def Steelers

    Story of the Game
Both these teams needed a W in this one and SF started hot, with Marvin Lucas hauling in 2 TD's as the 49ers rolled to a 21-3 lead. The Steelers, however, were not going to roll over. They fought back tooth and nail and the defense started to show up as they came roaring back and took a 22-21 lead with 1:53 left to play.

    It was over when....
The game DC'd right as SF got the ball with a chance to drive for the game winning FG. The teams were forced to replay the final 1:53 in a new game and 49ers WR Marvin Lucas was able to haul in the GW TD.

    Player of the game
At the mercy of the sim to win.

Week 1 Madden gives Bengals victory amid controversy
This game got off to a slow star with Cincy leading 10-7 at half. Both teams added a td in the 3rd and was 17-14 going into the 4th. The Jets scored a td early in the 4th to go up 4. Later on the Jets had the ball and Petty did the one thing you do not want to do he threw a pick six which gave Cincy a 3 point lead. Petty then composed himself and was able to drive the Jets down the field and the Jets scored what seemed to be the game winning td with 55 seconds left. Cincy had all 3 timeouts and was able to drive down the field and with 1 sec remaining Cincy had 1 last chance from the Jets 9 yrd line Blake threw it to Eifert in the back of the endzone for the gw td. This play was never reviewed and the Jets were furious after the game they viewed the replay and there is no question he was out of bounds it's not even close. Cincy 31 Jets 28

    Close battle in Detroit

Today we have witness a comeback from the lions as they came back from a 10 point deficit to beat the redskins 30-24. It was a scary first half as the redskins offense was hot as there qb almost going flawless. But that all changed in the second half as everyone stepped up there game including the lions defense picking the redskins off not once but 3 times. And Weaver passing for almost 300 hundred yards with 60 percent of his passes completed and there almost 100 yard running. It was a tough battle but in the end the Lions took the game

EAGLES OPEN UP WITH BIG VICTORY OVER GMEN

    giants.JPG

Eli's first pass was an interception to none other than Patrick Peterson (Mr. No PHLY)!
Eli was benched for rookie Wyatt Blake immediately but Blake added another 3 interceptions over the course of the game. The short field resulting from the turnovers lead to easy points scored for the Eagles. Jeremy Langford showed he's ready to fill the void left by DeMarco Murray. Langford added 130 yards and 2 scores as he won Gruden's Grinder award playing on MNF!

    EAGLES BEAT CPU BEARS
In a very defensive game Kyle Scott was knocked from the game after a scramble, David Fales picked up where Scott left off but it wasn't enough. With the game still close, the Bears were driving to make it a 1 possession game but Fales was picked off Eric Rowe to turn the tides of the game. The next drive for the Bears ended with a fumble forced by Corn Washington! Eagles WIN 28-6.

    Little catch up...

    upload_2016-3-8_7-55-19.png
Under new ownership the Saints were looking to start the season with a bang. That is exactly what they did. The Saints found the endzone 5 times with each of them coming from at least 45 yards. 5 home runs. Denard Raymond splashed onto the NFL scene recording 3 of those home runs and finishing the game with 223 yards on 4 catches. Jermaine Kearse was a stud for the Seahawks finishing the game with 146 yards and 1 score on 6 catches.

    upload_2016-3-8_9-7-14.png
We were at the mercy of the sim gods on this one. Bradin Cooks showed out in this one going for 81 yards on 5 catches, two for TDs. The biggest story of this game was Mark Ingram leaving the game with a hamstring tear that will put him out for two months.

    upload_2016-3-8_9-9-29.png
Only thing that was gonna stop either one of these two teams from scoring was themselves. That was exactly what happened as the Panthers committed two turnovers to the Saints one. Devyn Brandon in his first game as a starter in New Orleans was a multi purpose stud. Brandon went over the century mark in both rushing and receiving finding the endzone both ways as well. Denard Raymond continued the solid start of his rookie campaign going over the century mark and recording two more touchdowns. In one of the more unique stats of the game, the two starting quarterbacks combined for only TEN incomplete passes. James only had 4 of his passes not find his target while Manziel had 6. Great efficiency by the two gunslingers.

When you open the season with 4 straight home games, you might feel a little pressure to win them all knowing you'll only see the home fans 4 more times the rest of the way. The Saints smashed the pressure with a dominant finale to the homestand over the rival Falcons. The Saints defense held the Falcons offense to an amazing 98 yards of total offense.

BILLS VS DOLPHINS 27-52 Week 1

The Dolphins started off fast scoring in the opening minuets of the drive. Bill countered this with a long pass play to even the score at 7. Ryan Tannehill would have a great day by passing for four TDs. The dolphins Defense was too much in the end for the bills recording ints, sacks and a few forced fumbles. Dolphins would push in the second half and score on turnovers. Great game by the bills. As the rivalry continues.

EAGLES VS DOLPHINS 35-25 Week 3

The Dolphins felt great after there first win and looked to take on the powerhouse of the Eagles. The Eagles started out fast by putting up 17 unanswered points. The dolphins would continue to fight back by scoring on there next drive. Jeremy Langford would run the rock for 65 yards and two TDs. It was the longs plays the hurt the dolphins the most in this affair. Jordan Mathews would have a 50 yard TD and Nelson Agholor would troll his way into the end zone for a 69 yard broken tackle. Phillys Defense was also on balk halking duty as the T-hill was intercepted 3 times. (2 by Kiko Alonso). The dolphins would have some long plays of there own by a play action to Kenny Stills of 51 yards and a long catch by DeVante Parker for 58. The dolphins would put up a fight and try and come back in the 4th but to no avail. The Eagles remain undefeated and look to make the playoffs once again for the 5th strait season. The dolphins will continue to work on just winning there division. Good game Black Republican.

    Oilers vs Dolphins Week 2

Both teams coming into week 2 with a win in there first game and looking to continue there winning streak. Ryan Tannehill would have a great game throwing for 3 TDs and 0 Ints. On the other side of the ball the Oilers would have a QB of there own that would throw for 4 TDs and 1 int. The dolphins would start out fast as the first play of the game would be a play action to Kenny Stills for a 78 yard TD. Justin Blackman was the story of the offense going for 7 rec 115 and a TD. The dolphins got the ball late off a forced fumble to try and take the lead with less then a min left on the clock. Dolphins would drive but Ryan Tannehill would be injured on the play and it was up to back up QB Ryan Nassib to take the last play off the game. Nassib would throw one pass that was intercepted in the endzone for the game going to the Oilers. Dolphins would fall to 1-1 as the Oilers continue there winning streak.

Redskins vs Dolphins 13-30 Week 5

This game was all about the Mia defense. The dolphins defense combined for 6 TOs. Middle linebacker for the dolphins Kelcy Woodson would have 3 ints. The dolphins would not do anything on offence but kick FGs. Ryan Tannhill would not throw any TDs or Ints. This was a hard fought game and the dolphins got a few breaks by a force fumble from behind. The dolphins would take the win and try to climb in the division where the Jets are in the lead.

The Saints returned home after a two game road trip that saw game winning or tying touchdowns fumbled away literally feet in front of the end zone. Hellbent on returning to their winning ways of the 2019 season, the Saints played a hungry Titans team that had struggled to find their footing since the Mariotta injury. The Titans not only found their footing on Sunday, but they dug in and drove. Drove the Saints defense back to the tune of over 230 rushing yards. The Saints actually found themselves in position to record a stop and give their offense a chance to win the ballgame, but after two heartbreakers and what had become a physical beatdown the home team was simply spent. The Titans recorded multiple first downs to put the game on ice and walk out of New Orleans with something no team in 2019 had so far. A victory. Great game ZCar352

    A Raider Review

We are now nine weeks into the season and the Raiders are 6-2. This is quite a turn around from last season in which we were 1-7 but this is far from a successful team. The Oakland Raiders sit at 0-2 in their division and until they prove they can beat ANYONE in the AFC West they’re, at best, a 10-6 team and that’s pushing it given the odds of them finishing undefeated versus the rest of the league are very slim. The wk three 37-14 loss to San Diego along with a wk seven 38-14 ass whooping received from Denver left a bitter taste in the mouths of many folks in Oakland, both home losses that should have never happened and, for the sake of the division title, can't happen again.

There are some bright spots though, Carr is having a great year for the most part. He’s completing 72% of his passes with 19 tds and 7 picks on the season but against division foes his passer rating drops to 106.5. This week was Carr's best outing at home passing for 4 touchdowns in a 42-14 blowout of Green Bay. Another bright spot that has an unfortunate down side has been the play of our rookie running back Derek Jackson who even dons the famed no. 34 for the silver and black, through 5 games Jackson had 511 yds on the ground before injuring his back versus the Vikings. The highlight of his young career was a 224 yard 4td performance vs the Bears in wk 2 in which Oakland won 35-33 at home.

In closing there is a saying “All’s well the ends well”, and in the end regardless if Carr shows up or if Jackson comes back and returns to form, it’s the defense that has to show up and demonstrate how championships are won. This defense has shown flashes from between the hashes to the corners of the end-zone. In what could have been their best defensive outing in decades, the Raiders shut out the Buffalo Bills at home in wk five 42-0. Only allowing 160 yards of total offense the Raiders are now able to play more aggressive knowing rookie strong safety Foloi Lewis is anchoring the defensive backfield. Although he was hurt most of that game the rest of the DB’s played inspired football while displaying the sort of teamwork needed to keep the Raiders on track for a playoff run this season. This upcoming four game road trip will be the litmus test that will determine whether we are worthy and in the end if we are playoff material.
