offense: we will run approx 75 times per game....and hope my balling ass rb Alan Reed survives to tell the tale.
defense: we're going multi defense, and I think this has a chance to be my best defensive unit to date. In this league anyway. I'm two deep at almost every position with exception to safety.
I'm just happy for another season. Last year was abysmal. However I did get rid of about 25 useless bags of shit and was able to replace them with marginally better talent.
Prediction: 9-3 SEC East title, loser in the SEC title game to Helli and I'm going to ruin a contenders season along the way.
QB #7 6'1 194lb
77 Break Tackle
I am so pumped to start this kid's career. He got to redshirt, and will be the starter until he leaves. He looks like Michael Vick except the THP/THA are reversed. Hopefully he can stay healthy and will be a nightmare for years to come.
Have fun with that 86 THP when hes a senior.
QB- SO Chris Warren (90ovr, 96thp/tha), JR Lee Perkins (88), SO Charlie Barnes (89), JR Carl Joseph (88)
---Last year Warren took over the reigns at QB and delivered one of the better seasons for a Nebraska QB. A pure pocket passer, he's improved his accuracy a TON over the offseason and is highly regarded as one of the best QB's in the nation as a RS-SO. Warren looks to post similar numbers to last year: 4500yds/40+TD's.
THE FUTURE- FR Joe Herring (78)- Herring is similar to Taylor Martinez but he has ample time to grow into our future QB, at least 2- years.
RB- SR Sterling Vincent (96ovr, 97spd, 99acc), JR Terrence Charles (91)
---Vincent and Charles were a solid 1-2 punch for us and they both return. Both are very speedy backs who love to get open. Though last year, Charles was close to becoming the starter but Vincent closed out well and is now our impact RB.
THE FUTURE- SO Clint Freeman (88)- Freeman is another speedy RB who's time will be next year. He's fast just like the other two guys but he has the tools to become the best of them all.
FB- FR Dusty Jones (81ovr, 85btk, 81car)
---Jones is a small FB at 206lbs but he brings a load. He's a powerful FB and is our short yardage back. Also Jones is a very good blocker for being so small in stature. He's a surprise out of our recruiting class from last year.
WR- SR Desmond High (92ovr, 98rte, 90cth), JR Erik Smith (88ovr, 93cth, 92rte), SO Matt Pierce (85oovr, 97acc, 89rte)
---We have some guys who are taller at the WR spot and they love to go get the ball. Their height allows Warren to sometimes miss on some throws or let his guys go grab it because they are all pretty tall. The top 3 are excellent route runners and that's not even counting our best guy, #4 WR Alvin Dougherty, who's the best of them all. These guys are hard workers and have a great rapport with Warren.
THE FUTURE- FR Keron Prater (77), Charles Heinz (77)- These two are redshirting and are two 6'5" beasts. Heinz maybe the best of the two due to his basketball background and his 211lb frame which reminds us of Calvin Johnson.
TE- SR J.B Bishop (94ovr,87spd, 98cth)
---Bishop simply has become one of the elite TE's in the nation. 6'6", 275lbs and runs like a WR and has the best hands on the team. Just one of our top players and the leader of this offense.
THE FUTURE- FR Garrett White (84ovr)- White gets a chance to learn behind Bishop and while he's not as spectacular as him as a receiver, White is more of the well-rounded TE who can block very well.
SR-LT Ken Harris (93ovr, 95run block foot, 95 pass block foot), JR-LG Steve Richardson (96ovr, 92pass block, 90 run block), SR-C Darren Grigsby (97ovr, 88str, 93 run block foot), JR-RG Brian Sutherland (93ovr, 91pass block, 88str), JR-RT Beau Hawkins (90ovr, 94acc, 90pass block foot)
---We had the move some guys around on our offensive line. Darren Grigsby moved from LG to center and just became our best offensive linemen in the process. The interior we wanted to keep very strong to hold up against the uber DT's so we feel we can combat them better. Our tackles aren't the strongest like in years past but they are very quick off the ball and use technique and finesse more than power.
THE FUTURE- FR-LT Mario Hines (84), FR-C Steve Callahan (86), FR-RT Andrew Russ (86)- These 3 are monsters in the making and have the intangibles to become elite offensive linemen at their position.
SR-LE Lawrence Campbell (92ovr, 92tak, 97block shed), JR-RE Paul Edwards (93ovr, 87spd, 98finesse)
---Edwards started last year and had 7 sacks but he was still young in the tooth and really didn't display the talent we all know he can be. Now a year older and mature and he's now beasting in practice. He's easily our top end rusher from that spot. Campbell is the other starter who's a brute force 3-4 type end who always ends up in the backfield.
THE FUTURE- FR-LE Raymond Roach (84), FR-LE Bo Terry (82)- Terry is a long armed end who gets off his blocks with the best of them already while Roach is the do-it-all end who can rush the passer and stop the run.
SR-DT Maurice Clark (99ovr, 96tak, 97power moves), SR-DT B.J. Parks (99ovr, 99power/finesse moves), SR-DT Chad Sparks (98ovr, 99power moves, 99 block shed)
---This maybe the best trio of DT's ever assembled. All 3 are monstes of the middle and just clog up the middle with frequency and power. Clark and Parks are the starters and are equally adept stuffing the run and rushing the passer while Sparks is our best block shedding DT. We plan to revolve these 3 beasts in and out of the game as all are slated to be top 15 NFL picks.
THE FUTURE- SO-DT Corey Simmons (88)- He's redshirting this year and is the next in the long line of beastly DT's from Nebraska coming out in the past few years.
JR-LOLB Paul Cobb (92ovr, 89spd, 97pur), JR-MLB Tevita Harris (93ovr, 94block shed, 92 pur), SR-ROLB Jonathan Crowder (95ovr, 93spd, 97pur)
---These guys maybe the most rugged and mean group of LB's we've had. Harris and Cobb are bigger LB's then we've been getting and these guys are relentless and attack the ball. Crowder is the impact guy and leader of this defense as he plays all downs. He's so good he can cover almost anyone on the field while being just as deadly as a pass rusher.
THE FUTURE- SO-LOLB John Huff (81), FR-MLB Ed Harmon (81)- Harmon displays excellent agility for a 250lb LB while Huff's future position maybe MLB.
SR-CB Chris Cross (96ovr, 99spd, 99man), SR-CB Greg Clark (96ovr, 98spd, 99man), JR-CB Bryce Arnold (94ovr, 96spd, 99zone), SR-CB Cameron Terrell (94ovr, 96spd, 99man)
---These 4 guys allow us to play the defense we love to do and that's attack. Cross is a 6'3" monster of a CB that is big to press the best WR's and can run with them after the catch. Clark maybe the best CB playmaker of the bunch we feel because he just has that natural feel that he can make a play when the ball is coming his way. Arnold may go down as the most talented CB and potential 99 ovr CB (we haven't had any of those recently) and Terrell is simply our dime package CB, 99 man cover CB with 6'1" height.
THE FUTURE- SO-CB Doug Andrews (88ovr)- Andrews surely will get his shot to start next year when 3 of our 4 guys graduate.
FR-FS Drew Ball (85ovr, 96spd, 89pur), JR-SS Joe Tyson (92ovr, 94man, 95play rec)
---Ball may start all 4 years if he stays...he's a pure rangy FS who has blazing speed and 6'4" height that we've haven't had in a few years . Tyson starts at SS and plays more like a FS but loves playing down in the box and gives us a kid who can cover WR's if need be as well.
THE FUTURE- FR-SS Tyson Lewis (86)- We can't wait to get this guy on the field...6'3", 196lb tackling machine who loves to play down in the box.
K/P SO Mike Mosley (95, 99kpw), KR/PR Clint Freeman (91)
---Mosley will take over all kicking duties as he now has the leg to boom kicks from 60+ while Freeman will assume kickoff and punt return duties.
Offense: we suck
Def: we suck
Same as last year
Suprise suprise Helli's famous saying Mmmmm I have a spreadsheet for that LMAO.
Just joking please delete if im out of line posting here Helli.
On one hand, it's fun to put together an incredible team. On the other hand, it's depressing to look and see that every team kind of looks the same. I hope that Deion Sanders quality CB are rare next year, for instance... Let's have it matter when you get a player that embodies true greatness.
Ill let you know how I feel about my team after tonite........
