The Red Raider offense is led by senior wideout Keith Cook who is one of the fastest receivers in the NCAA due to him being a track star for the Red Raiders as well. The man that has the responsibility to get Mr. Cook the ball is redshirt junior Clifford Johnson who is in his 2nd year as the Raiders starting QB and he is no slouch himself as in his first season as the start he threw for 3,785 yards but his TD:INT ratio wasn't that great as he threw 27 touchdowns to 30 interceptions he will need to cut down the turnovers this season to get the Red Raiders in contention for a national title. The other offensive threat Texas Tech has is junior running back George Duckett who also will be in his 2nd season as the starting back but there might be a tandem backfield this year for Texas Tech as junior back Jeff Gschwend is nipping at Ducketts heels for the starting job. the Red Raiders also have a very dominant offensive line which will help get the above mentioned weapons a lot of touchs and get drives alive. Coach Fowler has built a championship caliber offense and I look for Texas Tech to put up a lot of points this season.
As good as the Raiders offense is the defense is even better as they boast one of the best front 7 in the nation. There defensive line is anchored by two studs at defensive tackle with All American Travis Smith and his PIC Kevin Taylor to complete there defensive line left end Jordan Hodges and All American right end Nate Collins all four of these offensive linemen will be gone in the first two rounds in next April's draft. Now if your offense somehow gets by the stout D-line you now have to deal with two very good linebackers and we will start with LOLB PJ Newsome who is a redshirt senior who is the 6th best LOLB in the nation and is the 3rd best in the Big 12. Along side Newsome is redshirt senior and All American MLB Doug Robinson who is the best MLB in the Big 12 and 4th best in the nation he is a definite first rounder in next years draft and the leader of the Texas Tech defense. The Red Raider secondary is solid with four All Americans which includes team captain CB Terry Robinson, CB Logan Kirkpatrick, FS Brad Cooley, and SS Cortez Massey. This is one of the best defense's the Red Raiders have had in a long time and with this kind of talent on defense it will be hard for teams to score.
    Big Games-
    Week 2 @ Nebraska
    Week 4 vs Northwestern
    Week 10 @ Mizzou
    Week 14 vs Oklahoma
    Week 15 vs Texas
The Texas Tech schedule is very back loaded but if they can get on a roll early and not slip up against a sleeper team like Iowa State or Texas A&M I believe this Red Raiders team is poised for a National Title run. My Prediction is 12-0 or 11-1 for dnf913 and his Red Raiders team.
    Good Luck dnf913
