    UCF Outscores USC 63-30

In a meeting of last seasons two unbeaten teams in what was almost the national championship game UCF's experienced roster edged out a young, talented, and athletic USC team. The storyline for this one was UCF's new option attack, which proved to be too much for the USC defense that is replacing a large number of starters from last year's national championship team. UCF managed to put up 260 yards rushing and 334 yards passing with strength up the middle and speed on the edge. USC's passing attack would not be undone as they took an experienced UCF defensive secondary to the woodshed to the tune of 510 yards. USCs Air Raid attack was clicking between the 20s, but struggled in the redzone when there was less space to spread the defense.

It seems that whenever UCF and USC meet, the pace is going to be frantic, and both defensive coordinators better be on their A-game, or else it will turn out to be a shootout. This one was no different, as both teams came out on fire with an extremely fast-paced first quarter, teams trading TDs to even out at 14 at the end of the quarter. The 2nd quarter was also fast, but UCF started to gain an edge, forcing some punts and turnovers to 21 unanswered and edge out USC in the first half with a score of 42-24. A big momentum shift came when UCF scored with 8 seconds left on an 18 yard pass play to Cedric Hall, who toughed out some USC defenders and carried them into the endzone. With this momentum, UCF took the second half kickoff and owned the 3rd quarter, with another 14 unanswered points and essentially putting the game out of reach entering the 4th. USC never quit fighting, and played fast and hard all the way to the end.

Although they have an uphill battle to repeat their national championship this season, they should be favored to take the Pac-12 once their defense matures throughout the season. UCF will try to continue their winning ways behind their QB leadership and will continue to fine-tune their defense, which showed they needed work.

GG SunofGod5 I always enjoy playing you; The option is tough to stop but you kept up with it for a while with that passing attack and insanely athletic TE, that guy is a beast. Best of luck this season

POG: QB David Poole 16-19 334 YDS 2 TD

BPHusker I would do one for our game, but I'm not entirely sure what the score was or stats.

"Utah kicked the shit out of LSU" would be a pretty good summary.
