On the legs of backup QB James Robinson and Heisman candidate RB Gavin Holmes, the LSU Tigers finally got the win they had been trying for for the past 3 seasons... a win over Alabama. With the win LSU, controls its own destiny in the division. The Tide took the early lead on a busted coverage and a 59 yard TD from QB Garcia to WR Casey. LSU then put 2 scores on the board, a 5 yard TD by Homes and a 41 FG by kicker Jacob Jefferson. Holmes added 2 more TDs in the 2nd quarter and the Tide answered with one of their own. At the half LSU led 27-14.

Alabama pulled to within 6 in the 2nd half, but couldn't get it any closer. The Tiger D stepped finally sealed the game following a very acrobatic INT by LB Mark Lewis in which the ball was caught by the Bama receiver, then popped out as his hand hit Lewis's helmet then was scooped up by Lewis right before it touched the ground.

    Utah Smokes Beavers
    Utes Win 63-3

Salt Lake City, UT- Utah absolutely destroyed the Oregon State Beavers Saturday, humiliating them all game long enroute to a 60 point rout.

The Ute's were a little careless with the ball or the score could have been much worse. Utah's defense has tallied 18 sacks in the last 2 games, this week it was Greg Ross creating havoc in the backfield with 3 tackles, 2 for loss and 2 sacks. Will Stephens and Kenard Godfrey managed to grab 1 interception each. Offensively the run game exploded in the 4th quarter with back to back 1 play drives. One was a 73 yard run by Courtney Wyatt after the starters for Utah exitede the game, and Eugene Kilpatrick showed why the Utah coaches wanted him at running back by streaking downfield for a 74 yard TD run the next time Utah had the ball. Kilpatrick has rushed 240 yards on just 8 carries the last two weeks.

It appears Utah is hitting their stride this season, and peaking at the end.
