2020/2021 Offseason

The Offseason is finally here. Congrats to the 2020 World Champion Baltimore Orioles. This is their 2nd straight World Series win. ​

The offseason will be a whirlwind of 24 hour advances with a strict 8PM EST deadline for each phase.Timpegoose and NeuroticTruth you need to get your finances figured out and make a profit for 2021.​

​

This will be the only tag you will get for the remainder of the offseason, so it is your responsibility to follow along with what is happening. Some of you are new to this process, so please ask questions.​

Below is the offseason schedule, but at each step I will post what needs to happen during that step.​

2020/2021 Off-Season Schedule​

DO NOT MAKE FREE AGENT OFFERS UNTIL AFTER SIM #1​

​

You are responsible for your roster and DFA. If you sign a guy and he times out, he gets dropped. OOTP now allows us to set the DFA time to 50 days so no excuses.​

You are responsible for making sure Rule 5 eligible players are protected. If somebody gets drafted "on accident" because he wasn't on the 40 man roster, too damn bad.​

5/13 #1: , import and sim to Rule 5 draft 12/1 Arby hearings complete . Options processed and Awards announced.- Free agents also file.- OSA Rescout- ​

5/14 #2: This is your only chance to get FA offers in until Sim #3 is uploadedimport and DO NOTHING. Rule 5 availables ABSOLUTELY FINALIZED - NO EXCEPTIONS.​

5/15 #3: NO TEAM IMPORTS PROCESSED. Rule 5 draft lists due at 8pm EST and draft will be input. PM Draft lists to me. You MUST have room on your 40 man roster to draft anyone and cash on hand ($50K) for each player. Sim to 12/16​

5/16 #4 Sim to 1/1​

5/17 #5: sim to 1/16. History updates​

5/19 #6: sim until Pre-Season begins (early Feb).- Change your development budgets!!!- Check Contracts (Team Options) from previous year. UPGRADE TO OOTP '14​

5/20 #7:end of free agency - sim until start of Spring Training. WATCH YOUR DFA!!!- PRESIM Make sure schedule starts on 4/1 . Make any changes to the settings!- CONFIRM ALL STAR GAME!!! REGNERATE SCHEDULE-​

5/21 #8: turn off suspensions and sim entire Spring Training. Lower DFA to 22 days and waivers to 12 days at the end of the sim Then upload file.​

• As always check your managers home and in game email
• Budgets for 2021 have been released
• Arbitration is open. Those of you with financial troubles who are involved in a PM this is the time to cut arbitration elligible guys.
• DO NOT OFFER FREE AGENTS UNTIL AFTER THIS SIM IS COMPLETE
• Team options available! Please use your in game email system to decline or accept team options.
• Free agents will file after advance.
• Deadline to export is tomorrow at 8PM EST, we will then advance to day 2
• WATCH YOUR DFA!!
• ASK IN THIS THREAD IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS!!

Can we try to resign possible free agents an extension in this sim on our own team this sim??

You can extend players yes. Just cant offer free agents

Contract Rules:
Team Options

In order to decline a team option year of a contract, teams will be required to pay a buyout of 25% of the option year or $500,000, whichever is more. You must put this in the contract when offering it to a player-


Failure to put a buyout amount in place for a team option results in the league office imposing a 75% buyout option to any buyout years.

Contract Incentives

• For all players: The dollar amount offered for a contract incentive or bonus will be no more than 50% of the highest valued non-option year of the contract, not to exceed $2.5 million
• For hitters: The Plate Appearance contract incentive may be set no higher than 625 PAs
• For pitchers: The Innings Pitched contract incentive may be set no higher than 215 IP
• Minimum pitcher stamina to be offered incentive or bonus: four
• If you are signing a guy mid-season, offering him playing time bonuses that are impossible for him to fill will be considered a violation of our bonus rules
• Failure to do these will result in immediate voiding of contract and player being released to Free Agency.

Hey StatsLab finally let me vote this season. Alright.

With this offseason how does it effect the Nippon league guys? Especially since FA will be happening as it states on 5/14, since some probably would like to get in on some of the FA guys or are we still just shooting for the 20th?

Where do you go to see arbitration players? I can't remember where I found them lol

Unfortunately that is the best time to do something like this.

Just set up OOTP at work and got the league up and running, etc. Tried exporting and it looks like it's working based on statslab, but let me know if it isn't coming through correctly.
