Markus Mason won his arby case. Fucker gettin paid. Don't the courts know his ass is in a small market?!?!
File up, tomorrow is day 2Day 2: Free Agency is now open, please be sure to read the rules at the bottom of this post to avoid "unrealistically creative" contracts This is the ONLY sim to protect Rule 5 availables Shaun Mason. Players with a # beside their name are elligible. Place them on your 40 man roster to avoid being drafted. Dont come crying if you lose a good player to Rule 5. Too damn bad. Now is your chance to ask questions. Exports due by 8 PM Tomorrow Contract Rules: Team Options In order to decline a team option year of a contract, teams will be required to pay a buyout of 25% of the option year or $500,000, whichever is more. You must put this in the contract when offering it to a player- Failure to put a buyout amount in place for a team option results in the league office imposing a 75% buyout option to any buyout years. Contract Incentives For all players: The dollar amount offered for a contract incentive or bonus will be no more than 50% of the highest valued non-option year of the contract, not to exceed $2.5 million For hitters: The Plate Appearance contract incentive may be set no higher than 625 PAs For pitchers: The Innings Pitched contract incentive may be set no higher than 215 IP Minimum pitcher stamina to be offered incentive or bonus: four If you are signing a guy mid-season, offering him playing time bonuses that are impossible for him to fill will be considered a violation of our bonus rules Failure to do these will result in immediate voiding of contract and player being released to Free Agency.
Its always been that way... but that is the low amount. Has to be at least that or 25%. Whichever is more. Its in the league description too.
Hmmm, maybe I got the 25% confused. I thought the minimum was 250k. I think one of my contracts may be screwed up.
Yeah I saw that too. How did that even happen? Free agents hadn't even filed at the beginning of this sim. Also these international free agents are pretty wack. 30 year old half-star relief pitchers?
I was thinking about some of these offers with multiple team offers. Wouldn't it make more sense to make the buyout be 25% of the remaining contract instead of that one season? Being able to void $40 mil over 2 seasons by paying $5 mil doesn't fit with the spirit of this rule, IMO.
Random contract Year 1: $20 mil Year 2: $20 mil Year 3: $20 mil TO: $5 mil Year 4: $20 mil TO: $5 mil With $40 mil left, it would make more sense for it to be a $10 mil TO in year 3. This would also prevent a situation like this: Year 1: $10 mil Year 2: $10 mil Year 3: $10 mil TO: $2.5 mil Year 4: $60 mil TO: $15 mil Despite the big 4th year, they would only currently only need to pay the $2.5 mil in year 3 to avoid it after getting 2 years at a cheap price.
Hmm, ok. I haven't tried it myself but after looking at some contracts last offseason, I assumed otherwise.
PAgamer07 Forgot to hit the button last night. It would have just been for formalities sake however as you know my FA situation and i protected Rule 5 guys last sim.
