Should be interesting to say the least...

My bias has me watching only the NL Central and it's tight going into September.

My Brewers are 1.5 games up on the hated Reds with one series to play and 3 up on the butt Pirates, with I think two series to play. Justin Upton looks to be out until the playoffs, if we can make it, but that's about it. Plan to platoon James Hill and Jorge Aguilar/Jose Ramirez to substitute.

My Brew Crew have the easiest road in my opinion, especially when comparing to Cincinnati. The Reds have the butt Pirates twice, Houston, and baseball hating Ed Washington and the Colorado Rockies.

What do the rest of the races look like?

I'll provide some analysis focused on the AL Central soxandgators Brandon S. Ken Welsch JFace907

The AL Central has seen a changing of the guard this season, to say the least. When the Twins Ken Welsch lost Augusto to death/retirement everyone knew that their 2 or 3 year strangle hold on the division was going to very difficult to repeat this year. With the White Sox holding about a bazillion top flight prospects from years of being a shitty team, everyone knew it was only a matter of time before the fruit came to bare. We also had the Royals jump out to an early, almost overly frantic hot start behind some heavy bats this season. At one point I believe they led the division by 5 games. But since June, they have gone 35-46. Unfortunately the rest of the team just has not played well enough to keep them in the running. Although KC are still alive, only because there are a ton of divisional games left, their starting rotation has given up too many games. The Tigers have the 3rd best runs scored offense and 2nd best runs allowed in the AL currently. With some serious DL concerns going on now coming into this final stretch, it will be difficult given there are only two sims to play September.

So here we sit with one month to play. The White Sox lead by 3.5 games on Detroit with the Twins 5 GB and KC 8 respectively.

    2021 division.PNG

Since the Tigers and White Sox play 6 games in September no 3.5 lead is safe. Tigers play KC 6 times as well.
White Sox play still play 4 vs Baltimore and 3 vs NYY which gives the edge to the Tigers schedule-wise. They end the season with 4 at home against KC.
Twins, coming in on an 8 game win streak, have the easiest schedule remaining. With only 3 games remaining against the Tigers and White Sox look for Minnesota to be in it until the wire.

    Prediction:

    Final Standings:
    Chicago
Detroit 1 GB, takes WC slot
    Minnesota 3 GB
    KC 6 GB

The Central only 4 teams let's remember :blackeye:

I like SF. Their sept schedule has some big games in it. Wouldn't be surprised if they grabbed a wc spot.

I think the Astros have a good chance of winning the AL West...:)

Too bad somebody killed my bad ass C Ed WIlliams (thanks again for him BigSmooth33) and one my bullpen arms who had a 2.1 ERA.

    If the playoffs started today:

    AL East - Baltimore Orioles 79-54 .594
AL Central - Chicago White Sox 75-59 .560
    AL West - Houston Astros 89-45 .664

    AL WC
    NY Yankees 74-60 .552
    Detroit Tigers 72-63 .533

    NL East - Miami Marlins 81-53 .604
    NL Central - Milwaukee Brewers 74-60 .552
    NL West - Arizona Diamondbacks 84-49 .632

    NL WC
    Philadelphia Phillies 73-62 .541
    Cincinnati Reds 73-62 .541

    AL
    Houston vs. AL WC
    Baltimore vs. Chicago

    NL
    Arizona vs. NL WC
    Miami vs. Milwaukee

I think I've got this right...

If so, I hate my matchup, and I'd have to run with Baltimore out of the AL again  and Miami in the NL. Going to be a FUN race to watch.

So, just a rematch with my OF being hurt instead of JohnnyClutch 's this time. I think I can deal with that.

You'll probably knock out a player or two on others teams as well.

Also, the obvious sleeper in the AL is briosu99 's Yankees. Their offense is fairly good, but facing Kershaw 2-3 times in a series is scary.

I almost picked them to come out of the AL.

When Kershaw pitches 2 CG's in a short series, who needs a BP?

My bullpen is a big concern against top teams. My starters aren't that good to make up for it. I've been trying all kinds of combinations but nothing has been clicking.

If your team would lay down in that 3 game series in the last week, that would be helpful.

With as many injuries I had last sim you won't have to worry about me scoring any runs.
