The 2021 MLB Amateur Draft is upon us. A couple of things guys need to be aware of.

    • The draft will be conducted in statslab, located here: http://traditionsportsonline.com/tso-ootp/StatsLab
    • The draft will proceed until the first sim in June, at which point pick from list/auto will be used in statslab.
    • The draft timer will begin Wednsday at 9AM
    • You can begin drafting prior to this
    • The timer will be set at 2 hours per pick for round 1. Round 2 and 3 will be 1 hour. After that point it will be moved to 30 minutes per pick. I reserve the right to change this timer if I feel the draft is going slow or too fast.
    • The timer will be enabled from 9AM EST-11PM EST every day.
    • When choosing a player, there may be minor discrepancies with the player ratings displayed in statslab as opposed to what is in the game. To confirm their ratings, click the player link in statslab, and it will open their player page.
    • Not drafting at the minimum of your 1st or 2nd round picks is one strike per missed pick Draft picks are the cornerstone of your franchise, and not caring enough to select the top 2 picks of the 25 rounds shows you don't care about your team. You can use a draft list for these, I am referring to me or the timer "auto"'ing you.
    • If you miss a pick, you will be placed on auto. You can disable this in your team war room.
    • Once a list is created in statslab, you can select "autdraft from list" in your war room and your pick will be made for you automatically by statslab.
    • Those of you who were on auto at the tail end of last year's draft... you are still on auto. Please disable this before I turn on the clock.
    • Please post here for any questions!
    • Please be considerate of your fellow league members. Send them a PM if they do not have a list setup in game so they are alerted via email.
    To draft:

    • Click the draft tab
    • Click Team War Room
    • Check the box of the player you wish to draft
    • In the "action" box directly above the player list, the players name will populate and the option to draft player will light up.
    • Click Draft player.
    To Create a draft list:
    • Check the box of the player you wish to draft
    • In the "action" box directly above the player list, select "add to list"
    • The player will now appear in the top portion and they can then be ranked accordingly.
    • SAVE

The draft is now live in statslab. Once again.. my apologies for the shitty draft pool. We will tweak it somewhat for next season and see what happens. Until then... deal with it.

Will this be the same draft pool that Nippon will have to draw upon later, or will we have a completely different draft pool? As our draft isn't until much later in the year.

No. You guys will have your draft pool created in October.

Those of you who ended last season's draft on auto will want to enter a list of players and uncheck the autodraft function. Some of the early drafters are currently set on auto. You do not want the computer to draft you a 5 stamina SP with your first round pick.

Specifically - The Dodgers and Cubs are coming up and they are on auto.

I wanted to take pitching but all the ones of top 10 value were gone, imo. Lozano will let me move McMillan to 2B or 3B down the line where he's slightly better defensively.

Yeah, that too. I'm very well set in the OF so that wasn't my focus, but he could move out there depending on what happens. Lots of versatility.
