Not necessarily. They get the contract by being called up to ST and not being sent down in time. Not by being placed on the 40 man. They only get it by accruing major league service time. Which ST does not do.
I know that if you have a major league contract you HAVE to be on the 40 man. I didn't think it was the opposite unless you had service time, then your contract converts to a major league deal and starts the arbitration clock.
I haven't been in this boat in awhile, but i think Ken's point is that if he has a guy on his ACTIVE 40 man roster (playing in ST games) then he will earn 1 day of service time and will be paid 480K for that season. He wants it to where they continuing getting a Minor League Deal but they still play in ST. That can't be accomplished without the implementation of NRI's.
File is up.. Free Agency is open. NEXT SIM (Tomorrow): #2: Import and DO NOTHING. Rule 5 availables ABSOLUTELY FINALIZED - NO EXCEPTIONS. Create Rule 5 draft list in game. You MUST have room on your 40 man roster to draft anyone and cash on hand ($50K) for each player.
#3: Import. Complete Rule 5 draft in game. Sim to 12/16. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- FA is open. If you're interested in drafting people in the rule 5 draft, input your list in game. Just as an FYI, failing to protect a player because he was on the DL and you didnt realize he was Rule 5 eligible is no longer an excuse to have us fix it. Its been documented and you not checking DL players is on you.
BigSmooth33 Yeah, that says advance to 12/16. My game advanced from 12/1 to 12/2. Never seen it go to a date in the middle of an advance.
*Rule 5 draft eligibility = Protected on 40 man roster* Contract info = Minor league contract. Major league service time = 1 day. I must have hacked the game.
You clearly missed the point and I dont feel like arguing with trolls this morning. So congrats, you win.
