    Team Questions:

Recap last years team? Did you over-achieve or under-achieve? With only 61, wins, it's fair to say that, even with a crappy roster, the team under-achieved. After singing Pablo Sandoval and Matsua Yamaguchi to enormous contracts, the acquisitions yielded no immediate results.

Tell us a little about what changes happened in the offseason for your team? Who is gone and who are some of the new guys? The Angels made two huge moves last season, trading away studs Bill McIlvride and Jose Costa to the Indians, and our best OF Jason Murdock to the Braves. Between the two deals, I received a plethora of prospects, some of whom should be debuting very soon. I also traded a high school arm for Moon-So Kim, an oustanding leadoff hitter and defensive OF. During the offseason, we moved a mediocre AAA SS (in our eyes) for SP Tijuan Walker, who will assume the #4 role in the rotation. I also signed 3B Carlos Villareal and DH Kevan Smith, two platoon bats that should contribute, and Alerto Ray, a nice lefty presence in the bullpen.

How do you think these changes should affect you this year? I think all of these changes will have minimum effect on the team; they were moves made to support the talent I have ascending from AA/AAA to the bigs.

Whose a breakout candidate for your team? Any impact prospects coming in this year? SP Burt Campbell is a rookie of the year candidate. If LF Jerome Johnston can progress before the break, he'll blow up as well.

    League Questions:

With new playoff teams making it every year, who do you feel will be a surprise team in your league and make a playoff appearance who did not make it in 2024? One of the LA teams. I know, I know...

How competitive do you think your division is? AL West is, top to bottom, more difficult than any NL division.

Predict the finish for the teams in your division? Houston, Texas, Seattle, LA, Oakland
Best Hitter and Pitcher in the division? SP Andy Tofts and CF Leo Kingwell

What do you feel is the toughest and easiest division in the league? The Central, but the East is clearly superior to the West and Central. It's close.

Pick your World Series (or NPBL Cup) Winner and why? JFace907 and the Indians in the American. Timpegoose and the Braves in the National. Goose breaks the NL drought.

Recap last years team? Did you over-achieve or under-achieve?
We definitely under-achieved last year. We barely missed out on having a winning record and we should have been more competative than that.

Tell us a little about what changes happened in the offseason for your team? Who is gone and who are some of the new guys?
Not that many contracts ran out last season so things are generally the same. We did add a couple pieces though. From the minors we have MR Zier de Haer who we managed to pick up for cheap a few years ago. International amateur RF Pleun van den Burg is only 20 but he's developed swiftly and will be making appearances this season. From free agency we picked up SP Guonçale Simo to fill our #4 spot, MR Matthew Smoral to fill the bullpen, and 3B Evan Longoria. Longoria is old, but we had a hole that needed filling at third for the year because our 3B prospects aren't quite ready for the bigs quite yet.

How do you think these changes should affect you this year?
Van den Burg is definitely going to be bringing some power. Longoria has drawn walks fairly well so even if his hitting declines more he should at least be getting on base and giving solid hands.

Whose a breakout candidate for your team? Any impact prospects coming in this year?
I'm hoping Van den Burg will be knocking them out of the park along with CF Greg Jordan.

With new playoff teams making it every year, who do you feel will be a surprise team in your league and make a playoff appearance who did not make it in 2024?
Who didn't make it in 2024? Man I don't even remember who was in the playoffs that year.

How competitive do you think your division is?
Before we all just fodder for the Astros. Then the A's started giving them a run for the money. Now we've seen the Mariners and Rangers can compete. Look at the list of the top orgs. Half of the top 6 are AL West teams. In a year or two I'm thinking we might end up being the power division.

Predict the finish for the teams in your division?
    SEA, OAK, TEX, HOU, LAA.

Best Hitter and Pitcher in the division?
Hitting: Either Paul Jones or Song Ju
Pitching: Either Gilberto Gonzáles or Roberto Gabriel

What do you feel is the toughest and easiest division in the league?
AL East definitely seems like the toughest.
AL Central seems like a cakewalk for the White Sox. Not because everyone else sucks, but because Chicago is just too damn good.

Pick your World Series (or NPBL Cup) Winner and why?
White Sox because their team is just as insane as last year.

    Team Questions:

Recap last years team? Did you over-achieve or under-achieve?
Overachieved. I expected maybe an NLCS appearance, but I thought we were still a year or 2 from the World Series.

Tell us a little about what changes happened in the offseason for your team? Who is gone and who are some of the new guys?
A big addition was CF Tommy Morris. He comes in with a great contract at 1 year $3M, and allows Flint Warren to be my #4 outfielder.

How do you think these changes should affect you this year?
I think the offense will be a lot more potent with the addition of the DH. This allows me to get both Reuben Perez and Pedro Camacho on the field everyday without playing Reuben at SS.

Whose a breakout candidate for your team? Any impact prospects coming in this year?
SP Wilbur Boyd (currently in AAA) could get the callup in July and make an immediate impact. We will be monitoring his progress in Gwinnett closely.

    League Questions:

With new playoff teams making it every year, who do you feel will be a surprise team in your league and make a playoff appearance who did not make it in 2024?
I think Ryty and the Cardinals work their way back in this year.

How competitive do you think your division is?
Our division will probably be middle of the road across the board. I think the winner will finish around 94 wins and the last place team around 76.

Predict the finish for the teams in your division?
    Atlanta
    Miami
    Washington
    NY
    Philly

Best Hitter and Pitcher in the division?
I'm going to go full on homer pick here, but I think Pedro Camacho will be one of the top hitters in the NL this year, and although he's declining Teheran should still be the best pitcher in the division.

What do you feel is the toughest and easiest division in the league?
Toughest division is the AL East for sure. Easiest is the AL West. I don't think there is going to be a really strong team in the AL West this year, and there's a couple teams that could really struggle.

Pick your World Series (or NPBL Cup) Winner and why?
I'm going to go with the Chi Sox again. I don't think anybody can compete with their talent yet.

    Team Questions:

Recap last years team? Did you over-achieve or under-achieve? Slightly over-acheived. Scored 89 wins without my #2 starter in Kukuk and my all-star of - Rafael Cruz who both missed the year with injuries.

Tell us a little about what changes happened in the offseason for your team? Who is gone and who are some of the new guys? I didn't lose anyone of note and didn't sign any big free agents. I am a grow from within organization so Alexander Maehl is getting the Drew Smyly treating going back to the bullpen until I sort out my excess starters.

How do you think these changes should affect you this year? My overall pitching is stacked. With Maehl and Banda joining Pena, Skank, and Fitz as top end guys in the pen and Scott McCall resurrecting himself in the offseason, I am better equipped to absorb a pitching injury or two and still roll out a monster whomever is on the mound.

Whose a breakout candidate for your team? Any impact prospects coming in this year?
BREAKOUT - SP - Mike MacColman - he has all the tools but got roughed up a bit last year. He progressed well in the off-season and is primed for an impact year.
PROSPECT - 3B - Julio Santos - He won the job out of Spring Training over Teoh and Zapata. He will need to produce to keep the job. No Chris Patarro's allowed (old school subreference)

    League Questions:

With new playoff teams making it every year, who do you feel will be a surprise team in your league and make a playoff appearance who did not make it in 2024? Um.. me.

How competitive do you think your division is? It's a bloodbath folks with the Red Sox acting as the gory, blood-dripping pinata.

Predict the finish for the teams in your division? NY, Baltimore, TB, Toronto.......space bar, space bar, space bar.... Red Sox

Best Hitter and Pitcher in the division? SP - David Taylor and RF - Rafael Cruz

What do you feel is the toughest and easiest division in the league? Toughest see above. Easiest I will say NL Central or AL West

Pick your World Series (or NPBL Cup) Winner and why? Yankees over the Braves. Or any AL East team vs the Braves. I think the Chi Sox team plane will crash on the way back from a series in Toronto and they will have to play the remainder of the year with AAA scrubs so that is why I am not predicting an Evil Empire 3-peat

    Team Questions:

Recap last years team? Did you over-achieve or under-achieve?

We underachieved. Any time we miss the playoffs means changes are coming. Unfortunately the biggest change was myself coming back from vacation.

Tell us a little about what changes happened in the offseason for your team? Who is gone and who are some of the new guys?

We lost our starting 3B from the previous 9 seasons in Pablo Morales. This guy was a rock at the hot corner with a great glove and solid hitting skills. That was really the most significant subtraction from last year's squad. We lost SP Alberto Rey, but really wanted to move on for him as he did not excite the team as much as we thought when signing him.

This year we added two of the best available free agents in SP Gabriel Iampos and 2B Dan Wilson. Both of these guys were paid big bucks to come to Pittsburgh and we only hope they perform up to expectations. We also added a lefty specialist in Ignacio Martinez who should get quality LOOGY work out of the pen. With the addition of the DH we added C Pablo Sanchez via Waivers and 1B Bartolo Gallo via FA who will both see time at DH.

We also added 3B Steve Larson via the Rule 5 draft from Seattle and feel he has some potential for a couple seasons at 3rd. Finally, we added SP Jose Perez who will fight for a spot in the rotation and was impressive for Yokohoma last season.

How do you think these changes should affect you this year?

It can't be worse. We expect to compete for the division this year. We upgraded our rotation and bullpen, as well as our middle infield. We still aren't happy with our 3B situation, but after losing a guy who played for us for 9 seasons, who would be? The biggest thing for us to keep an eye on is the play of our corner outfield. We have a lot of options here, and we are waiting for some consistent performance out of about 5 different players.

For the team to win the division we need a bounce back year from 6 time gold glover and 2 time MVP runner up CF Santiago Martinez. He had a very bad year by his standards but we expect his normal monster numbers. In addition, we need 1B "Mad Man" Madgouran to have a monster year. And finally... C Wiley Estes needs to live up to his potential. If all 3 of these guys hit well, I really like our chances.

Whose a breakout candidate for your team? Any impact prospects coming in this year?

Nobody really. I am anxious to see how 3B Steve Larson plays, but outside of that, no big name prospects are ready for the Show yet.

    League Questions:

With new playoff teams making it every year, who do you feel will be a surprise team in your league and make a playoff appearance who did not make it in 2024?

In the NL, I expect both Wildcards to come out of the Central with the Pirates making their return to the playoffs. This displaces Miami and San Diego who will not return. In the AL? I love what the Rays are doing and fully expect them to contend for the pennant.

How competitive do you think your division is?

One of the best in the league. Outside of Hova, the rest of the division is loaded with quality GMs. I am really looking forward to knocking Roggie around and welcoming him to the Show.

Predict the finish for the teams in your division?

    Pittsburgh
    Milwaukee (wild-card)
    St. Louis (wild-card)
    Chicago
    Cincinnati

Best Hitter and Pitcher in the division?

Best Pitcher- SP Seriozha Janovich (PIT). Yeah a homer pick, but he was completely neglected last year by me and had a stellar 2024 and 2025. Look for him to get back on the map this year.

Best Hitter- 1B Tim Rivers (CHI)- Rivers is still getting it done and easily the most dangerous hitter in the division.

What do you feel is the toughest and easiest division in the league?

The toughest would have to be the NL Central. Year in and year out we consistently have multiple teams with over .500 records. The easiest would have to be the NL East. There aren't many teams over there that really scare me.

Pick your World Series (or NPBL Cup) Winner and why?

World Series winner would have to be the White Sox. That team is beyond loaded and I cannot wait until their studs start hitting arbitration.

    Team Questions:

Recap last years team? Did you over-achieve or under-achieve?

Under-achieved. After a strong record, but still missing the playoffs in 2025, Yamato took a step back last season.

Tell us a little about what changes happened in the offseason for your team? Who is gone and who are some of the new guys?

The biggest change was trading for two-time MVP Koryusai Yamasaki. Also bringing in Wilson Bojorquez to the rotation was a big deal.
How do you think these changes should affect you this year?

They should definitely give us another much-needed bat, and a little experience in the rotation.

Whose a breakout candidate for your team? Any impact prospects coming in this year?

I think this year will be the year that Naofumi Imamura starts to assert himself. He has a lot of hype to live to, and this season he is going to get the chance to start returning on that potential.

    League Questions:

With new playoff teams making it every year, who do you feel will be a surprise team in your league and make a playoff appearance who did not make it in 2024?

With only 4 playoff teams, it's tough to break the old guard, but in the Pacific league, I think it'll be either Orix or Yamato.

How competitive do you think your division is?

Very. Seibu is always a threat to win the Cup, and there's a lot of young talent that is starting to get used to playing in the bigs.

Predict the finish for the teams in your division?

    1. Seibu
    2. Yamato
    3. Orix
    4. Tohoku
    5. Chiba
    6. Hokkaido
    7. Fukuoka

Best Hitter and Pitcher in the division?

SP Kaoru Tanaka - Orix, and LF Masaharu Memoto

What do you feel is the toughest and easiest division in the league?

Out of two, the Pacific is the tougher.

Pick your World Series (or NPBL Cup) Winner and why?

Yamato, because why the hell not?

All in all I’d say we hit my expectations. Possibly a bit of an over achievement, but not much. I feel the Tribe finally hit its stride. We saw great production from our outfield group that was long overdue. We have always loved the grouping and to finally see them produce definitely trickled down to everyone else. The pitching staff was great, especially the rotation. Bringing in the man they call “Cooler King” was a huge add and really solidified our staff. The pen was great up until our final game. We thought for sure that Game 5 was ours. But hey, that’s baseball. We have to turn the page and focus on what should be a great 2027 season.

Tell us a little about what changes happened in the offseason for your team? Who is gone and who are some of the new guys?

We cut some loose ends. A reliable glove at second base in Rafael Mejia had to go, but when he could only hit at about a .215-220 clip not too many tears were shed. We brought back Jason Kipnis to play some second base and DH when needed. It will be nice to have his veteran leadership around. Plus he comes to a team that is coming off their first playoff appearance since his MVP season in Cleveland. Kip’s pop may be gone but the guy can still work counts, get on base, and even swipe a few bases still.

How do you think these changes should affect you this year?

I honestly think this team will regress a tad bit unless we make another deal. Unfortunately our farm is short and we’ll likely have to deal an active roster player to try and improve overall.

Whose a breakout candidate for your team? Any impact prospects coming in this year?

Julio “Flea” Arroyo was our sexy international free agent splash last offseason and he did fairly well in his first season in the Majors. We like how much he got on base and how aggressive he was on the base paths. We hope he boosts his average a bit so he can really become a well-rounded player. His performance in the ALDS gave of us nice glimpse of what he could be. So with a fairly veteran-laden team, I’m gonna say Flea is ready to show he’s worth the fat contract he received. I also think Cooler King can really step up his game after gaining a good deal of confidence once he arrived in Cleveland. As mentioned earlier, our farm is pretty small so we’re not expecting any impact prospects to burst on the scene this year. We do however have plans to bring up Terry Robinson during roster expansion as we really like the raw power he possess. However, he does have a slight problem of missing the ball altogether when he’s not hitting it out of the stadium.

    League Questions:
With new playoff teams making it every year, who do you feel will be a surprise team in your league and make a playoff appearance who did not make it in 2026?

I like the Rays. They just re-upped Taylor and I think they’re starting to really catch their groove.

How competitive do you think your division is?

EXTREMELY top heavy. I think after the White Sox we take a big dip and then another dip after us. I think teams 3-5 aren’t in the best positions right now, but any one of them could be find themselves competing with myself for a Wild Card spot with some good fortune.

Predict the finish for the teams in your division?
    1. White Sox
    2. Indians
    3. Twins
    4. Tigers
    5. Royals

Best Hitter and Pitcher in the division?

Easy. Two ChiSox here and two men also only known by their nicknames. Spooks and Mosquito.

What do you feel is the toughest and easiest division in the league?

Toughest has to be the NL bEast.
Easiest would have to go to NL West or AL Central (after the ChiSox)

Pick your World Series (or NPBL Cup) Winner and why?

Honestly, there will have to be a catastrophic injury to keep the ChiSox out of the World Series. I’ve got them in there again beating the Brew Crew this time

    Team Questions:

Disappoint in Detroit. Management shipped off the top two pitchers in the rotation in Faulkner and Sale in pre-season moves. That left trying to piece together a rotation that had a > .500 record if you eliminated the month of June.

Tell us a little about what changes happened in the offseason for your team? Who is gone and who are some of the new guys?

Big things. 1) Signed top INT'L FA SP Jesus Rosa to lead the rotation. 2) Signed top INT'L FA C Gabriel "Pimpa" Mendez. 3) We also let long-time multi-gold-glove winner SS Marrero walk due his injury concerns. 3) Signed Terry Ashe in FA to play CF after his AL Gold Glove season last year in KC. 4) Brought in MR Lex Rutledge in FA to replace wholly-inadequate Garcia who was shipped to Baltimore. 4) In that Garcia deal Tigers received Carlos Castillo who career WHIP is < 1.

How do you think these changes should affect you this year?

Hopefully we win a few more fucking games. Isn't that the point?

Whose a breakout candidate for your team? Any impact prospects coming in this year?

MR Ray Hughes. Was named #54 prospect overall coming into the season with fully developed control. He's still got 10 more stuff he could develop with a nasty Splitter. His k/9 is 11.57 through 7.0 innings of work thus far.

    League Questions:

With new playoff teams making it every year, who do you feel will be a surprise team in your league and make a playoff appearance who did not make it in 2024?

Going to go with an NL team. With an added DH, those pitchers are in for a blood bath. Looking at career worst ERA's across the league.

How competitive do you think your division is?

It's gone from hard to hard-er. Now the hapless Indians are winning games after finally developing a crop of prospects following the whole #teepeetankjob years.

Predict the finish for the teams in your division?

    Sox, Indians, Tigers, Twins, Royals

Best Hitter and Pitcher in the division?

SP Randall Walker & 1B Chris Cambell

What do you feel is the toughest and easiest division in the league?

Toughest: AL East, Easiest: NL West

Going to go with a flyer here.... Oakland! Why? Because simply I've had the worst record vs them in the recent past........

    Team Questions:

Recap last years team? Did you over-achieve or under-achieve?

Underachieved. The Giants were in first place in the division heading into September, until a disastrous 3-12 sim to start the month. There weren't enough games left to catch up and SF ended with its second losing season in 16 years.

Tell us a little about what changes happened in the offseason for your team? Who is gone and who are some of the new guys?

The Giants went into free agency looking to spend a bunch of cash, after dropping the large contracts of Sana and Posey. However, other teams were offering more cash than management was willing to pay. The Giants ended up adding RF Leon Rodriguez to DH and split time in the OF. Longtime utility player CF Bolinger was waived, along with infield utility player Gonzalez.

How do you think these changes should affect you this year?

Tough to say. Some of the older players are starting to break down and regress.

Whose a breakout candidate for your team? Any impact prospects coming in this year?

CL Jay Miller and SP John Riley will see significant action this season. CF Curt Cunningham will play a role coming off the bench.

How competitive do you think your division is?

It will be a dogfight, as all the teams are mediocre and none of the teams stink.

    Team Questions:

Recap last years team? Did you over-achieve or under-achieve?

Disappointment. With all the money spent in the offseason, I wanted to at least make it to .500 but came up short at 79-83 and really felt like we had a shot to win the division. That said, we had never been competitive into September before, so in many ways, it was our best season since I've taken over. Still a disappointment though.

Tell us a little about what changes happened in the offseason for your team? Who is gone and who are some of the new guys?

Well, we didn't really add anyone. We made some runs at a couple FAs but no one interested us too much but held back on the offers because of that when we could've offered more. We did sign a couple RPs which let us move some RPs into the starting rotation. We had to do that because we lost 2 SPs to free agency. Just didn't think they were worth what they wanted.

How do you think these changes should affect you this year?

Probably negatively. A worse pitching staff + adding DH + Coors = recipe for sucking despite bringing back like 95% of our 25 man roster.

Whose a breakout candidate for your team? Any impact prospects coming in this year?

I think Blake "Stuffy" Porter is going to have a breakout year. He's been a setup man for us in the bullpen for the last year and a half and did great. He was drafted as an SP though so I've decided to give him a shot in the rotation and expect him to perform very well.

    League Questions:

With new playoff teams making it every year, who do you feel will be a surprise team in your league and make a playoff appearance who did not make it?

I was so disappointed after missing out on the playoffs and .500 last year that I didn't even look to see who made the playoffs. Ummmm, the Mets? Feels like they've been building a solid team for a while now.

How competitive do you think your division is?

The most competitive of all divisions.

We were probably exactly where we should have been last year. The Platea and Wacha experiments were utter failures and ate up the payroll. Meanwhile, the decline of Berde Lauritzen is coming before any in-house top of rotation candidates are ready to take over. Lou Thomas and Darryl Barnett did a great job trying to carry the team, but a mediocre starting rotation deep sixed the team.

Tell us a little about what changes happened in the offseason for your team? Who is gone and who are some of the new guys?
The biggest change is financial flexibility. We were able to find takers for the Platea and Wacha contracts, which will allow us to be better players in trade market going forward, though it cost us a pair of solid prospects. The lineup will again lean heavily on Thomas and Barnett and an emerging Mark Peters, which should be slightly above average production-wise. The rotation is largely the same as last year, though that may change soon with current trade talks. From the minors, infielder Marcos Hidalgo will provide a solid bat at all positions on the infield. Reliever Brent Griffin, starter Jose Torres and outfielder Joseph Wright will likely make appearances this year as well.

How do you think these changes should affect you this year?
These changes should keep us above .500. Further changes are forthcoming so the changes are a work-in-progress.

Roger Hairs had a very strong rookie year last season. This year, he will be given every opportunity to hold the closer role.

Houston missed the playoffs last year and should make it back there this year.

How competitive do you think your division is?
I think we're above average. The Sox are a juggernaut (dammit) and the Indians have proven to be a good team as well.

Sox (dammit). Until proven otherwise, they are the favorite. Heck, they've won 3 out of the last 4 years.
