This is probably the craziest season I've been apart of here in the Dugout. Here's some highlights from the end of the year.

    • There were 9 trades at the deadline, and some big names moving including Huck Donahue, Jason Murdock, Joe Quate, Brian Hamm, Alberto Bruno, and Marcos Hidalgo.
    • Bondzai won the 2nd to last game of the year against soxandgators pitcher Jason Johnson who probably has no business in the big leagues. Congrats Bond!
    • The NL East and West both came down to the last week of the season with Colemanchu 's Diamondbacks edging out the Giants (who still got the wild card) and the Braves edging out the Nationals for the NL East crown with a strong push in the last month.
    • There were 2 game 163's, which resulted in KnightNoles Nationals grabbing a wild card spot and Dru50 's Rays winning the AL East.
    • And for emphasis (sorry NeuroticTruth), the Rays won on a walk off grand slam in the 12th inning from 1B Frank Zapata.

Feel free to add any personal highlights in here. This has probably been the most enjoyable season I've had in the Dugout yet, let's keep the momentum going!

Going .500 after winning 42 games last year has to be some kind of record for 1 season turnarounds.

Agreed. Season was pretty crazy down the finish, lots of activity. I'll add some of my thoughts later.

    Also: Live sims 17/17

It was a weird first season in the MLB. Didn't really do anything well but somehow made it to Game 163.

If only we could all play 17 games out of our final 20 against teams with a losing record and the other 3 being against a KnightNoles controlled team.

This is a moment where the Manager has put the players into place and it falls on them to perform. :sour:

A whole lot of red after September 15th, turned us into an underachieving ball club. Let the Braves come right back into it, take it from us and smug on their way out the door. I hope those guys taste the salt. Defense and pitching would end up costing us big time and the Quate for Hamm move didn't do us any favors.

Rangers lock up the 3rd pick in the lottery and hope we get lucky enough just to stay in the top 3. Texas has dropped or stayed pat in every lottery so far - we could use some luck this year to help continue building our pitching staff through the draft.

If only we could all be so good for the first 142 games of the year. I mean making the playoffs is pretty easy, don't get me wrong.

The Oakland A's were able to hit the 70 win mark with a 54 million dollar payroll, with 14.8 million of that on waivers half the season. The young pitching staff of Gonzalez, Hernandez, Morgan and Lee all had solid seasons. Trent Conner was fantastic in his setup role, when he was healthy, and Julio Ortega was dominant with 38 saves and a 2.16 ERA.

The problems with the A's begin and start with the offense. Losing Allan Fox, Pedro Romero, Rafeal HErnandez and Van Den Burg for extended periods of time didn't help either. Some potential is there with Whitfield having a short appearance, and Kaz Komiya swiping 53 bases, but this team is still two years away.

Hopefully next season we will make the jump to the 74-78 win range.

With the game tied at 8-8 going into the bottom of the 9th, this happened in game 7.... What a way to end a crazy season.
