    The Dugout

The file has now been converted to OOTP 15 and we're into the playoffs. Everyone needs to have OOTP and the file converted by Sunday (thats the first sim of the offseason). All you should have to do once you install OOTP15 is load it up and import the OOTP14 file (its an option on the main menu). Once you import that open the league file and check for updates. That should grab the new OOTP15 file off the server and you should be good to go. If you have any trouble, please let us know.

DO NOT MAKE FREE AGENT OFFERS UNTIL AFTER SIM #1

You are responsible for making sure Rule 5 eligible players are protected. We're no longer fixing mistakes if a player gets drafted "on accident".

#1: 06/01/14 - Sim to 12/1 - Arbitration / awards processed during sim. Once file is up you may protect players from the Rule 5 draft / create in game draft lists. Also, FA opens up after this sim.

    #2: 06/02/14 - Sim to 1/1 - Rule 5 draft processed - First sim of FA signings.

    #3: 06/03/14 - Sim to 2/1 - Second sim of FA signings.

#4: 06/04/14 - Sim to 2/25 - Last sim of offseason FA signings. Start of Spring Training.

#5: 06/05/14 - Sim to 4/1 - Disable suspensions for Spring Training and sim ST. Re-enable suspensions and lower DFA to 22 days and waivers to 12 days at the end of the sim.

    #6: 06/06/14 - Opening Day!

    Reminders

Teams that lost money last season:
    • None

The draft lottery will be up some time Saturday.

Don't forget development budgets may now be updated at any time during the offseason.

Do Not forget about contract rules in the league description. Team, Player and Vesting options are BANNED!!

FYI, the "Download Latest League File" option is under "Online League Options" in "File" (I think) in the top toolbar. It took me a while to find the damn thing the first time I was looking for it another league.

Also, for those of you who are installing the file fresh, the setup instructions should be the same and can be found here. I didnt rename the file when I switched us to OOTP 15, so despite the fact that it says your downloading "The_Dugout14", you're actually downloading the OOTP 15 file.

No joke there, I spent 10 minutes trying to find it until Bond told me where to look.....then I felt like the idiot I often am for not finding it on my own.

The A's and the game genie with The last chance in the lottery are already gearing up for a jump into the top 5.

In other leagues i've managed to get away with no updating. Is that going to be a problem? I really wanna keep my real life team names for any new offlines or anything else :(

It's not a roster issue. It's the 300+ major and minor league team names that got the axe

Updating what? I'm confused. You have to be on OOTP 15, outside of that I havent patched at all yet.

Patching is what I am referring to. OOTP has already released 3 title updates.

From what I've read, it sounds like only the game fixes would impact our league, we won't have to worry about losing all the team names. But if you ever start a new league once you patch, bye bye MLB and MiLB names!

I'm already operating on the 3rd release and I still have the real minor league affiliates of each team.

Nope, Boston still has Pawtucket and lowell and Portland and Salem and Greenville so not sure? Maybe cause I started it before the updates?

Wow, that's crazy just looked now and it's the Boston Demons, that's crazy! I can't believe the developers let that happen.

Basically this. Exciting that OOTP is big enough for them to care, but I'm not sure it's big enough to pay for a license.
