Decisions, decisions, decisions. With the #1 overall pick once again the Dodgers scoured the pool over and over again. Guy Richard and Cordell Taylor immediately stood out with their ability to play multiple positions and have solid hitting abilities. Both are high OBP guys with Taylor being better on the base paths. Richard is more durable and Taylor is fragile which could hinder his development. One has a great competition level, the other is poor but both have low work ethic. Both guys would probably sign if drafted with Taylor bankrupting our budget.

Then you have Jesse Balcom-Mile. Is it too risky to draft Jesse at the #1 spot for the Dodgers? They drafted Cavallaro at the #3 spot and did just fine but whose to stay that will happen again. Great defense, solid hitting attributes, but low personality ratings. The down down side on him is that he has already said it would be extremely hard to sign him.

Lastly, you have the pitchers. Lynch, Rincon, and Gibbons makeup the future rotation for the Dodgers, for right now, and by possibly adding John Cramer it would strengthen it tremendously. What's not to like about a kid with a 18.9 K/9 ratio? Or the fact that he has 4++ pitches, with great defense and a sturdy arm. The other pitchers that caught the organization's eye were Eric Wilson, with his 80 curveball and changeup, and Larry Wilson because if his pitching does not work out then maybe his hitting would.

All in all it came down to money (7.5mil Draft Budget) and the ability to sign one of these guys. With the #1 overall draft pick, the LA Dodgers select Texas native...

Sledgehammer will be moved to either 2nd or 3rd base but that decision has yet to made.

    Gravity is now up.

draft pick.PNG Couldn't decide who to take. I would have liked to have taken the lefty pitcher available but he would of left me bankrupt. Factoring in need, personality ratings, and money, Wilson made the most sense for us. Had Sledge Hammer been there I would have taken him despite having a set infield.

The one I sent you is the default one from OOTP. Since we do the lottery you have to change it once you upload it (which also requires the timer to be on to do). Thanks again for the work to get that running.

Sorry about the delay, had a little snag in StatsLab last night that is now remedied. Feel free to start putting together lists and drafting via StatsLab.

    JFace907 is up.

Wish our draft budget was higher, but for now we must take the slot-asking high school kid. Looks to have a nice arsenal of pitches that are fairly developed for his young age. With how quickly we kill off prospects, the long game may not be the best approach, but he was the best I could afford. Plus, he's such a GOOBER!

I thought he said he was going to two football things today or something and going to the Columbus game tonight so I don't believe so.

Houston takes SS Cordell "Twinkles" Taylor out of Penn with the 5th pick. The scouts peg Cordell with all the tools to be a starting SS in the Bigs someday. He does come with a big red flag though with his injury history that has some even calling him "fragile". Houston takes the risk because that speed, glove, contact, power combo was something that could not be passed on.

If he wasn't so fragile and I had the budget I would have taken him at #1. Best of luck to you!

Yeah, broke my house rule for this rebuild with that pick. Trying to avoid fragile players this time around because it cost me in playoffs when my team was good.
