    The Dugout

Congrats to HAL9100 and the Philadelphia Phillies for capturing the NL's 4th World Series in a row (and 2nd consecutive sweep). Let the offseason begin!

DO NOT MAKE FREE AGENT OFFERS UNTIL AFTER SIM #1

You are responsible for making sure Rule 5 eligible players are protected. We're no longer fixing mistakes if a player gets drafted "on accident".

#1: 10/19/14 - Sim to 12/1 - Arbitration / awards processed during sim. Once file is up you may protect players from the Rule 5 draft / create in game draft lists. Also, FA opens up after this sim.

    #2: 10/20/14 - Sim to 1/1 - Rule 5 draft processed - First sim of FA signings.

    #3: 10/21/14 - Sim to 2/1 - Second sim of FA signings.

#4: 10/22/14 - Sim to 2/26 - Last sim of offseason FA signings. Start of Spring Training.

#5: 10/23/14 - Sim to 4/1 - Disable suspensions for Spring Training and sim ST. Re-enable suspensions and lower DFA to 22 days and waivers to 12 days at the end of the sim.

    #6: 10/24/14 - Opening Day!

    Reminders

    Teams receiving a financial strike:

    Teams with current financial strikes:
    • None.

The draft lottery will be up Sunday.

Don't forget development budgets may now be updated at any time during the offseason.

Do Not forget about contract rules in the league description. Team, Player and Vesting options are BANNED!!

Really surprised nobody knows that's how it works in actual baseball for qualifying offers, especially after the Stephen Drew/Kendry Morales fiascoes.

Like Ty said, it didn't work that way on the game before - we had about 20 comp eligible FAs last year and only 4 or 5 this year because the 13 mil offer just started working this offseason. Doesn't matter if it happens in real life if the game never reflected that until this season.

And I never patched the game until last night - so it is my fault. But I thought it would work as it has every offseason up until yesterday.

Should have worked last year. My file said the 13 mil on it. I know it did because I mentioned the 13 mil for John Bennett to you. I wonder if whoever did the sim last year hadn't patched yet.

I did the sim last year and it definitely worked, ala Scotty Clay.

I'm talking more about the logic changing. Seemed like a lot of players accepted the comp offer this year compared to pre-patch, before lots of players would deny the offer even though they were expected to make less than 10M (ala many MR the past few seasons).
