Not mandatory this year because there's too many lazy assholes not doing it and Mike is sick of giving everybody strikes.

    1. How do you feel about last season's team? Did you over or under achieve? Any players who had breakout season or underperformed for the year?
We definitely overachieved in the regular season. I did not see us as a 100+ win team. We underachieved (once again) in the playoffs though, losing to a far less talented team.

    2. How do you feel about the offseason? Any key losses from last season? What additions did you make?
We had an interesting offseason. After 6 years of being our ace, we traded Orlando Ortega, fearing all the wear on his arm will start to catch up to him soon. He was shipped off to Pittsburgh along with Conner Shannon, who has lost the faith of the front office, for John Kegley, who had a huge year last season, and 2 prospects we liked in Dave Lewis (who may end up reaching the ML this year) and Jose Augustina. We also made a couple of other trades, trading Leen Clarjis for Dave Wood and sending off the steady performing Jesse Hicks for Howard Holmes and Billl Simmons, which opens up the rotation for Bill Davenport to finally pitch.

    3. Any prospects coming up this season? Who do you feel will break through this season and make an impact?
Bill Davenport is the main guy, who will take over the #5 spot in the rotation. Management was worried that he'd never hit his ceiling, but something finally clicked last year and he learned how to control the ball. Kevin Pierson will also start the season with the ML team after Jose Avila struggled mightily in ST while Pierson dominated. We aren't expecting him to spend the entire season in the ML (and would prefer him not to so he can avoid Super 2 in the future), but if his bat stays hot, he could change our minds. Ryan Nichols also gets a shot in the pen as a lefty specialist. We are also giving Orlando Longoria a shot in the rotation this year. Last year's runner up for the Cy Young improved even more and looks to be ready to inherit a starting role that he was blocked from due to having 5 very good starters last season.

    4. Predict your division standings at EOS? And WS matchup/winner?
    Cubs
    Pirates
    Cardinals
    Reds
    Brewers

Chicago vs Chicago in the WS. Neither team wins, as both don't know how to win when it matters. Game 7 goes 25 innings and the commissioner channels his inner Selig, just says fuck it, and they tie.

    5. Who had the best offseason (trades and FA requirements considered)?
Taking the easy route and saying Texas. That rotation is ridiculous now.

    6. Who do you think will have a breakout year this season (not from your own team)?
Batter, I'm going with Guy Richard. He had his learning season, and he's ready to be a stud.
Pitcher, I'll go Michael Allen. All these years later, he's finally ready.

    7. If you could pick one prospect to build your team around, who would it be?
I really wanted Ze-Dong Pi in INT FA the year he came around, and barely got outbid. Outstanding defender and bat. Not the fastest guy, but makes such a good read on the ball off the bat that it doesn't even matter.

    8. Predict the Cy Young / MVP winners.
NL Cy: I really want to pick Longo, but I'm not picking my own player. So I'll go a little off the wall and pick Alonso Sandoval, and guess this is the year he puts it together.
    NL MVP: Goian, who else?

AL Cy: Edwin McCoy. Tired of always picking Mitchell.
    AL MVP: Frederick Gilbert.

    1. How do you feel about last season's team? Did you over or under achieve? Any players who had breakout season or underperformed for the year?

It was pretty much a repeat of the 2036 season. We were the best team in baseball in the first half of the season and were average in the 2nd half of the season. We managed to have our 3rd straight 100 win season despite only being 2 games over .500 after the AS break. So it was a disappointing season as I felt we should've done better.

Lots of players had great years. Theron Walton was great and took home ROTY. Tommy Thomas and Henry Owens had career years. Eric Huber came strong onto the scene after some injuries to the OF and took over the starting job. The bullpen and rotation struggled some but they may have been due to some defensive issues.

    2. How do you feel about the offseason? Any key losses from last season? What additions did you make?

We didn't really do much. We let Ed Sabine walk and were prepared to let William Mondem walk though we ended up bringing him back for much less than he was originally asking for. We brought in 2 Rule 5 players. CF Dan Troedson came over from the Rangers organization looks like a capable backup OF for us. Then we also brought in MR Ron Turner to maybe help improve the bullpen some. Then with a lot of money coming off the books, we went out and signed SP Bret Bailey to a risky contract. He'll probably stay in AAA this year, but if he pans out, then it'll be a great deal for us.

    3. Any prospects coming up this season? Who do you feel will break through this season and make an impact?

I mentioned Eric Huber earlier. He's in line to have a great year and has been overshadowed by some of the other players on our team. He could become one of our top players this year.

    4. Predict your division standings at EOS? And WS matchup/winner?

    1. Philadelphia Phillies
    2. Florida Marlins
    3. New York Mets
    4. Washington Nationals
    5. Atlanta Braves

Phillies vs Orioles with the O's bringing the trophy back to the AL

    5. Who had the best offseason (trades and FA requirements considered)?

Easily the Rangers. They got $22 mil added to their budget and they put it to immediate use. It'll be interesting to see how Carig does in Texas. He struggled some giving up the long ball in Colorado and could revert to that now that he's older and heading to Texas.

    6. Who do you think will have a breakout year this season (not from your own team)?

It'd be nice if he was in a more hitter friendly park, but Charles Eldridge is in line to have a breakout year in Detroit.

    7. If you could pick one prospect to build your team around, who would it be?

I'd probably go with CF Jose Hernandez of the Angels organization. He's not perfect but he plays elite defense and his bat fits what I'm looking for out of 3 and 4 hole hitters.

    8. Predict the Cy Young / MVP winners.

NL Cy Young: SP Christophe Dupont
NL MVP: DH Petre Goian(if he can stay healthy)

AL Cy Young: SP Joseph Mitchell
    AL MVP: LF Frederick Gilbert

    1. How do you feel about last season's team? Did you over or under achieve? Any players who had breakout season or underperformed for the year?

Had a great season from 2nd year Culley Wade, came thru and won the NL CY Young. Also had top 3 in WAR from rookie CF Gary Eichor. I'd say we overperformed a bit as we beat the cubs to get to NLCS, but I think the wild card win was appropriate.

    2. How do you feel about the offseason? Any key losses from last season? What additions did you make?

Mostly good news, brought back hitting machine Rafael Cruz and signed 2b/3b Gabriel Carrion. Didn't lose anybody worthwhile, added 13 WAR season over season but didn't upgrade roation/bullpen as much as I would like.

    3. Any prospects coming up this season? Who do you feel will break thorugh this season and make an impact?

Just a reliever Luke Seymor, nothing big.

    4. Predict your division standings at EOS? And WS matchup/winner?

    Phillies
    Marlins
    Mets
    Nats
    Braves

Cubs beat the Orioles in WS.

    5. Who had the best offseason (trades and FA requirements considered)?

    I like me some me!

    6. Who do you think will have a breakout year this season (not from your own team)?

Jose Rincon on the Dodgers has the stuff for it.

    7. If you could pick one prospect to build your team around, who would it be?

Ze-dong 'Braveheart' Pi on the Nats looks like he'll be full beast mode in a few years

    8. Predict the Cy Young / MVP winners.

AL CY - Cook NYY/ AL MVP Bushhorn
NY CY - Wade FLO/ NY MVP Goian

How do you feel about last season's team? Did you over or under achieve? Any players who had breakout season or underperformed for the year?

Last year was a in-between year where we had a lot of aging veterans and a few on the roster that were awarded arbitration that spent their year in AAA. Although we finished only 10 games under .500, we were in the bottom 3rd of most offensive and defensive categories in the AL. Former top 3 prospect 1B Charles Eldridge made his MLB debut in September and the team went 18-10 respectively with him in the line-up indicating a future star in the making.

How do you feel about the offseason? Any key losses from last season? What additions did you make?

Feel good. Flurry of activity this off-season with funds cleared from arby mistakes the previous year. Signed SP Tim Simmons to a big 3 year deal and he subsequently dropped mph in 3 straight sims so we'll see how that dumpster fire goes. Picked up Howard Morales (70 contact) in the rule V from KC. With limited range he is necessary to help the fact this team went under .300 win % vs LHP last year. RF Tetsuo Yamada comes over from Japan to play the corner OF. If he can bring the .430 OBP to the MLB, look for Yamada to score a lot of runs with Morales, Eldridge and Nielsen swinging the bat behind him. RF Rafael Costello was also brought over in FA from Washington to platoon. Losses include Sekeras (FA), Palacios (demoted), Cashne (demoted) and O'Niell (demoted).

Any prospects coming up this season? Who do you feel will break through this season and make an impact?

    1. How do you feel about last season's team? Did you over or under achieve? Any players who had breakout season or underperformed for the year?

How can you not be happy about last season's team...we did win the World Series. I would easily call that an over-achievement. 3 players really broke out for me last year; Goian, Thorne and Meyer. Mike Anderson underperformed, but only because I think we had high expectations of him.

    2. How do you feel about the offseason? Any key losses from last season? What additions did you make?

Another disappointment, we had our sights on 2 big players, but our pockets just weren't deep enough. Kumanosuke Nishimura was a huge loss, but he wanted 18 Million a year over 3 years for an extension. We loved his bat, but his defense was porous. He ended up in Japan. Our biggest addition looks to be setup pitcher Marcos Martinez.

    3. Any prospects coming up this season? Who do you feel will break thorugh this season and make an impact?

It's quite possible that George Hul and Julio Caraballo could see time in the majors this season, but probably not unless there are major injuries or when the roster expands. I think this year we will see Rob Davis and Dave Willits both have solid years. On the offensive end, we hope to see Ignacio Cardona take over the starting CF role.

    4. Predict your division standings at EOS? And WS matchup/winner?

    1. Colorado
    2. Los Angeles
    3. San Diego
    4. Arizona
    5. San Francisco

WS - Colorado vs Anaheim. Anaheim wins in 6

    5. Who had the best offseason (trades and FA requirements considered)?

Florida Marlins and Texas Rangers for sure!

    6. Who do you think will have a breakout year this season (not from your own team)?

    Charles Eldridge (Detroit)

    7. If you could pick one prospect to build your team around, who would it be?

Pedro Flores on offense, Larry Triplett for pitching. Flores would get the overall nod, as he would be an every day player.

    8. Predict the Cy Young / MVP winners.

    AL CY - Mitchell (NYA)
    AL MVP - Matte (Tex)
    NL CY - Dupont (Az)
    NL MVP - Goian (Col)

I thought it was coming togther but with the way this season has started Im not sure now.

    2. How do you feel about the offseason? Any key losses from last season? What additions did you make?
It sucked. My computer went down during the playoffs and I missed the entire offseason.

    3. Any prospects coming up this season? Who do you feel will break thorugh this season and make an impact?
Probably not, they still look to be atleast a year away.

    4. Predict your division standings at EOS? And WS matchup/winner?
    Yankees

    Boston

    5. Who had the best offseason (trades and FA requirements considered)?
    Yankees

    6. Who do you think will have a breakout year this season (not from your own team)?
Probably one of the dozen players the Yankees has ruled 5 from the Red Sox.

    7. If you could pick one prospect to build your team around, who would it be?
    Hopefully its Joe Nieto

    8. Predict the Cy Young / MVP winners.

    1. How do you feel about last season's team? Did you over or under achieve? Any players who had breakout season or underperformed for the year?
We sucked as expected. Cooler King was dumped with Dave Willits in a move that added some depth to the organization that was desperately needed. Ultimately, last season was a lame duck year to rid ourselves of the fiasco we had in the courts where 5 players were collecting 10+ million dollars.

    2. How do you feel about the offseason? Any key losses from last season? What additions did you make?
We feel mixed about the offseason. We shed all the payroll and no longer have anyone collecting an annual salary greater than 10 million. On the down side, not a single free agent found Cleveland attractive, so all of our additions were done via Rule 5 Draft.

    3. Any prospects coming up this season? Who do you feel will break through this season and make an impact?
Well, as most who are familiar with Rule 5 know, a lot of the players selected were prospects taking their sweet time getting ready to make their big league debut and the Draft forces those kids to get
their cup of coffee. Well we drafted one young buck who looks to be ready to take the stage and we are excited to have him. Center Fielder Howard Hopkins never managed to make it out of A Ball due to his lack of ability to make contact, but that doesn’t change that he has a Barry Bonds-like eye and they glove of a BB in his prime. We hope his eyes, wheels, and glove really come to play to make us forget about his ability to put wood on leather. We also plucked Lorain, Ohio’s own Bob Sosa out of the ChiSox system in the Draft. He’s a ground ball style pitcher with a filthy splitter that we hope can be in the rotation, rather than in the pen where he saw all his action last season after his promotion to AAA. And I swear to god, if he plays that “bitches love Sosa” song one more time, he may not live to see the All Star break.

    4. Predict your division standings at EOS? And WS matchup/winner?
    Royals
    White Sox
    Twins
    Tigers
    Indians
Rockies jumped their window by one year and I really don’t see how that could disrupt this year as truly being “their year” as it was projected to be originally. Rockies over O’s.

    5. Who had the best offseason (trades and FA requirements considered)?
This is more an early season deal, but it alone tilts the scales. The Yanks picking up Mitchell.

    6. Who do you think will have a breakout year this season (not from your own team)?
Allow me to be honest for a second, if I looked at the systems of my brethren, I may just kill myself seeing their prospects ACTUALLY develop. So for my own health, I’d like to pass on this question.

    7. If you could pick one prospect to build your team around, who would it be?
You’re really trying to kill me huh?

    8. Predict the Cy Young / MVP winners.
That nasty man Mitchell is going to collect another Cy Young (is his trophy case full yet?) and I’ve got Freddy Gilbert out in the Twin Cities ready to take the leap. He is a masher who just needs to find the gap a little bit more frequently. He does that, and he’s walking away with the trophy.

    upload_2014-12-19_21-3-3.png

Since 2032 our last winning season, we were on a downward spiral. 2035 was dreadful, the following year the Nats were better and last season another improvement was made. I believe we played right about on par, I was a little disappointed in a few players contributions which may have gotten us to .500.

    2. How do you feel about the offseason? Any key losses from last season? What additions did you make?

I felt good with the offseason even though we haven't spent money in a few years and our budget continues to decrease. We picked up a 24 year old, Andy Priutt out of the Rule V draft to play 1B for us, as he hit .305 in 377 ABs last season in AAA for the Dbacks. We also selected SS Mike Atkins from Cleveland, he hit .265 in 362 ABs, as we felt he would be an upgrade from once stud prospect and pro Robbie Paul.

    3. Any prospects coming up this season? Who do you feel will break through this season and make an impact?

I believe OF Josh Boggs will be up sometime during the season, SP Joe Perkins, RP Earl Lush, and possibly Utility David Howard.

OF Henry Green I believe is adjusted enough to have a good year along with OF Billy Carr. I am still waiting for SP Henry Peters to put it together and to see how SP Joe Gordon can handle being in the rotation.

    4. Predict your division standings at EOS? And WS matchup/winner?

    Marlins, Phils, Nats, Mets, Braves
    Twins/Cubs; NL winner

    5. Who had the best offseason (trades and FA requirements considered)?

I haven't really paid close enough attention to those happenings for a few years now, but the Yankees with the Mitchell acquisition is strong.

    6. Who do you think will have a breakout year this season (not from your own team)?

    Eldridge (Det)

    7. If you could pick one prospect to build your team around, who would it be?

I started with Ze-Dong Pi, added SS Michael Williams so those two hopefully pan out and are around for a long time.

    8. Predict the Cy Young / MVP winners.

    AL CY - Mitchell (NYA)
    AL MVP - Matte (Tex)
    NL CY - Davis (Col)
    NL MVP - Goian (Col)
