Again, not mandatory. But do it anyways, or you're still an asshole.

    1. How do you feel about last season's team? Did you over or under achieve? Any players who had breakout season or underperformed for the year?

    2. How do you feel about the offseason? Any key losses from last season? What additions did you make?

    3. Any prospects coming up this season? Who do you feel will break thorugh this season and make an impact?

    4. Predict your division standings at EOS? And WS matchup/winner?

    5. Who had the best offseason (trades and FA requirements considered)?

    6. Who do you think will have a breakout year this season (not from your own team)?

    7. If you had to choose one player in Nippon to start a franchise around (prospect or developed), who would it be?

    8. Predict the Cy Young / MVP winners.

We overachieved. We were not a good team during the regular season until the last month, and then went on a run in the playoffs. Too bad our closer, who was great all year, choked away a WS win twice.

    2. How do you feel about the offseason? Any key losses from last season? What additions did you make?

I'm very happy about our offseason. We didn't sign our top 2 targets, but that may have been a good thing as they would have taken up a lot of our payroll for the foreseeable future.

We didn't lose too much. We lost some players who were past their prime in Henry Parker, who was on pace to have a HoF career before injuries slowed him down, Alberto Trejo, John Monchak, Tom Dial, and Sylvester Leonard.

We added a couple of players to fill in the holes we had. We traded away a pretty good pitching spec in Don Brown who we would have liked to keep, but had no room for and he was out of options, for a better spec in Carlos Moran. We also traded away a couple of solid specs for Bryce Cloherty to give us that extra pen arm. We got a guy who can platoon in center with Victor Schmidt and backup all 3 OF spots when not starting in Ed Sabine in exchange for Tim Murray, who was always stuck as the 6th rotation man and never got a shot, even though he deserved one. Our only major FA signing was OF Laurent Martin, who looks to be a very nice corner OF bat. Also signed this offseason was SP Steve Mills, who beat out Villegas for the 5th starter spot (but is on a short leash), and OF Roberto Martinez, who will be in AAA as depth.

    3. Any prospects coming up this season? Who do you feel will break through this season and make an impact?

The only 2 prospects on the ML roster this year are Dave Lewis, who will be playing middle infield for us after having a fantastic postseason last year, and Bill Townsley, who pitched well last year in a setup role. We have two very ready prospects in AAA in 3B Carlos Ramirez and C Juan Rodriguez. If it wasn't for us having a bunch of lefty bats already, and our primary 3B Sixto Rodriguez being a lefty bat, Ramirez would be on the roster over Waylon Heard. SP Myron Floyd is on the cusp of making the ML roster, and so is SP Mike Peck (who could be used as a reliever if needed this season).

    4. Predict your division standings at EOS? And WS matchup/winner?
    1. Cubs
    2. St. Louis
    3. Cincinnati
    4. Pittsburgh
    5. Milwaukee

WS: Either Cubs lose to Minnesota or the White Sox lose to Philadelphia. Chicago makes it 5 in a row.

    5. Who had the best offseason (trades and FA requirements considered)?

I'd have to put the top 3 as Houston, the Yankees, and myself.

    6. Who do you think will have a breakout year this season (not from your own team)?

3B David Howard for Washington. Kid looks like he has all the tools to succeed, and can play defense anywhere on the field if needed.

    7. If you had to choose one player in Nippon to start a franchise around (prospect or developed), who would it be?

I'll take SP Richard Gilder from Tohoku. That is one beast of a pitcher. Only concern is his injury history.

    8. Predict the Cy Young / MVP winners.

I hate to pick my guy, but Cy Young: Orlando Longoria, Cubs
MVP: Can't pick against Petre Goian in Colorado.

AL Cy Young: Edwin McCoy sneaks past the other 2 studs and wins it.
AL MVP: Ferdi Rooks had a great year last year. This year he has an outstanding one.

    1. How do you feel about last season's team? Did you over or under achieve? Any players who had breakout season or underperformed for the year?

I'm indifferent about the 2038 season. We didn't run away with the division, but we didn't really put in our best effort either. Then when the playoffs came around, we were decimated by injuries and didn't stand much of a chance. LF Eric Huber showed that he could be a leader of this team last year and we're going to rely on him going forward. Theron Walton found a spot in the defense at 2B that he can actually play well making him much more valuable. Most everyone else had their struggles at times last year but weren't too bad.

    2. How do you feel about the offseason? Any key losses from last season? What additions did you make?

We didn't do too much. We put out like 3-4 contract offers but didn't sign a single player. There really wasn't much that we needed as we're having a youth influx into the everyday roster. We did bring in 5 Rule V players and decided to keep 4 of them. They'll be role players at best this year so not much to report on there.

    3. Any prospects coming up this season? Who do you feel will break through this season and make an impact?

As mentioned above, we're having a real influx of youth into our MLB team and we're really excited about it. Bill Murdock comes up to start at 2B. He's so good defensively that Theron Walton was forced to go back to DH despite being a good 2B himself. Sam Andrews becomes the opening day starter at CF this year. After a good year in AAA, Bret Bailey comes up to join the rotation and we've still got Larry Triplet down in AAA who may get the call later in the year. The average age of our 8 position players and DH is just 26 years old and our entire active roster is just 27.6, so the future is bright.

    4. Predict your division standings at EOS? And WS matchup/winner?

    1. Philadelphia Phillies
    2. Florida Marlins
    3. Washington Nationals
    4. New York Mets
    5. Atlanta Braves

    Phillies over Yankees

    5. Who had the best offseason (trades and FA requirements considered)?

The easy choice is the Astros, but I'll go with the Pirates...though I wasn't crazy about trading away Ortega.

    6. Who do you think will have a breakout year this season (not from your own team)?

Ummm, CF Jesus Gonzales of the Astros? The unknown commodity needs to show he's worth $31 mil per year.

    7. If you had to choose one player in Nippon to start a franchise around (prospect or developed), who would it be?

He's getting on the older side, but I'll say Shinsaku Goto from Yomiuri. He's got so much power and has been doing it every year.

    8. Predict the Cy Young / MVP winners.

    AL Cy Young: Maxwell Larsen
    AL MVP: Eduardo Martinez

    NL Cy Young: Tim Harrell
    NL MVP: Salvador Baca

    1. How do you feel about last season's team? Did you over or under achieve? Any players who had breakout season or underperformed for the year? Definitely felt that the team over-achieved, felt going into the season that we were more of a .500 team but ending up 30 games over .500 was kind of a shock. Pitching led the way for me, Nate Scott showed his potential of being a #1 with his 6.7 WAR and sparkly 3.15 ERA. CL Lou Brooks continued to be one of the best closers in the game and the pen overall was probably the best in the AL. SS Cordell Taylor showed why he was a top 5 pick in 2034, sporting a 4.7 WAR even after missing 5 weeks. Other than Taylor, the offense kind of sputtered last season.

    2. How do you feel about the offseason? Any key losses from last season? What additions did you make?
The loss that upsets me most is OF Sakaras who was a great 4th OF and specialist vs LHP. We made a little splash in FA this season giving 26 year old Intl league FA Jesus 'Hit Man' Gonzales a 8 year/247 Million dollar contract. Scouts peg him as an elite defender/speed and above average hitter so thought it was worth it since he covers all 3 OF spots. With Nakayama's big contract coming off the books after this year and no other superstars in the org that I can see giving a big contract it wasn't that hard of a decision.

    3. Any prospects coming up this season? Who do you feel will break thorugh this season and make an impact? Nobody on the brink for the season. Picked up 1B Widener in the rule V draft and hope to see him handle RHP this season.

    4. Predict your division standings at EOS? And WS matchup/winner?
    Rangers/Astros/Angels/Athletics/M's
    Rangers over Rockies

    5. Who had the best offseason (trades and FA requirements considered)?
Going to sat Tampa because they had the best signing in the offseason with C Miguel Contreras

    6. Who do you think will have a breakout year this season (not from your own team)?
I think DH Craig Wilkins will be due to breakout this year, moving him out of the OF where he struggled defensively and letting him focus on what he does best and that's hitting.

    7. If you had to choose one player in Nippon to start a franchise around (prospect or developed), who would it be?
Easy. SP Richard Gilder (only 24) and reminds me of Tehearan.

    8. Predict the Cy Young / MVP winners.
AL Cy - TEX - Larsen
AL MVP - MIN - Gilbert
NL Cy - ARZ - Dupont
    NL MVP - COL-Golan (Darkhorse: NYN-Salvador Baca)

    1. How do you feel about last season's team? Did you over or under achieve? Any players who had breakout season or underperformed for the year?
Last year was a surprise, even to me. I thought we were still a middle-of-the-pack, rebuilding team, and in many ways, played like one (referring to my starting SS and C hovering around .200BA). Yet the bullpen was strong and I was able to get just enough offense to make a strong push into the playoffs in September. It took an extra game against the Yankees, but we were able to prevail.

The only disappointment was the injury to RF Jesse Barclay going into the playoffs, which forced uber-prospect Mark Zhulidov into action even though he hadn't seen any major league action to that point (ala Cardell Jones).

As for individual players, SS Allan McDonald had an epically poor offensive showing (.189 7 41) but was solid in the field, while C Carmine Donaldson wasn't much better (.205 20 47). But LF Frederick Gilbert was very strong offensively (.851 OPS, 95 RBI) and rookie CF Stan Burt proved to be a gamer (.285 4 53), while rookie SP Andy Harrison notched 9 wins with a respectable 3.54 ERA and 1.17 WHIP as the 5th starter.

    2. How do you feel about the offseason? Any key losses from last season? What additions did you make?
This was a somewhat atypical Twins offseason. We decided to augment the roster with a couple of free agent signings. Yes, we did lose DH Jerome Johnston (.254 17 73) and SP Eric Boyer (9-10 4.67). But the addition of 1B Julius Thomas will fill a long-standing hole at first base, and the Twins rolled the dice on veteran SP Kiyoshi Saito from Japan. The hope is that the lineup will be as good, if not better, and that the team can coax at least 2 strong seasons from Saito, who has a great arm, great control, nice pitches, but has stamina issues as well as an injury history.

    3. Any prospects coming up this season? Who do you feel will break thorugh this season and make an impact?
OF Mark Zhulidov was definitely going to be seen in the majors this season, though the club hoped it would be in June. However, Jesse Barclay was hurt for the season, so Zhulidov will soon be making his official major league debut after having a taste during last year's playoffs. He has an incredible bat and good base skills as well.

In AAA, SP Jon Edwards was 2-1 with a 2.73 ERA late last year and will be the first one called upon for a rotation gig. Former 1st round pick CL David Dotson is also ready after notching 37 saves in AAA last year, but he's waiting for a bullpen opening. 3B Terry Larkin Jr. had a cup of coffee in the bigs last year and is ready when needed. And it appears that CF Pedro Flores, who is very highly rated and electric on the basepaths, will be ready some time this season as well.

    4. Predict your division standings at EOS? And WS matchup/winner?
    Minnesota
    Chicago
    Cleveland
    Detroit
    KC

    Minnesota/Chicago Cubs - Twins win!
** Ok, this might be a little wishful thinking on my part, but what kind of GM would I be if I thought my team wasn't going to be there in the end? **

    5. Who had the best offseason (trades and FA requirements considered)?
Houston. ty5oke knows what he's doing over there.

    6. Who do you think will have a breakout year this season (not from your own team)?
CF Jesus "Hit Man" Gonzalez is off to a shaky start in Houston but will get it together.

    7. If you had to choose one player in Nippon to start a franchise around (prospect or developed), who would it be?
SP Richard Gilder. Most talented pitcher over there.

    8. Predict the Cy Young / MVP winners.
    Cy - Mitchell (AL)/Longoria (NL)
    MVP - Martinez (AL)/Goian (NL)

Lol, yes it's always wishful thinking when I'm dealing with such a young team and have already lost my starting RF to injury for the season. But we will get it done. See you in October (hopefully)!

I will be patient with 'Hit Man' but I'd feel better if he came out blazing this sim.

    1. How do you feel about last season's team? Did you over or under achieve? Any players who had breakout season or underperformed for the year?
Hard to say you underachieved when you make it to the NLCS, but we were swept and I'm still bitter about it... If Roggie would have won the WS, it would have been less painful!

I think William Simmons had a breakout season, as he won the batting title (2nd year in a row that a Rockie 2b wins it)
My entire team underperformed in the NLCS.

    2. How do you feel about the offseason? Any key losses from last season? What additions did you make?
Our offseason sucked once again. We keep barely missing out on our favorites, but what can you do.... no major losses, we let a few guys go that weren't really going to contribute this year anyway. We only made minor additions, Saito and Ozawa, both relievers, as this was definitely a weak link in our armor.

    3. Any prospects coming up this season? Who do you feel will break thorugh this season and make an impact?
Julio Caraballo will be our everyday SS this year and we expect big things once he gets acclimated to the bigs. Hul will likely see some time, especially if our injury woes continue. There is an outside chance that 2b Sims and CL Anderson also see time, but likely not until late season roster expansion.

Caraballo and Cardona are primed to have great seasons

    4. Predict your division standings at EOS? And WS matchup/winner?
    Colorado
    LA Dodgers
    SF
    SD
    AZ

Rockies over the White Sox WS - We avenge our loss to Cubs by beating them in the NLCS then beat Chi Sox in WS to complete the Chicago sweep.

    5. Who had the best offseason (trades and FA requirements considered)?
    No doubt, the Astros

    6. Who do you think will have a breakout year this season (not from your own team)?
    Dan Glenn Mets

    7. If you had to choose one player in Nippon to start a franchise around (prospect or developed), who would it be?
Otavio Cerca - 19 year old 5 tool SS.

    8. Predict the Cy Young / MVP winners.

AL CY - Edwin McCoy (LAA)
AL MVP - Frederick Gilbert (Min)
NL CY - Orlando Longoria (CHN)
NL MVP - Salvadore Baca (NYM) - can't see Goian winning 3 years in a row...hope he does, but voters hate monopolies
