Again, not mandatory. But do it anyways, or you're still an asshole.

    1. How do you feel about last season's team? Did you over or under achieve? Any players who had breakout season or underperformed for the year?

    2. How do you feel about the offseason? Any key losses from last season? What additions did you make?

    3. Any prospects coming up this season? Who do you feel will break thorugh this season and make an impact?

    4. Predict your division standings at EOS? And WS matchup/winner?

    5. Who had the best offseason (trades and FA requirements considered)?

    6. Who do you think will have a breakout year this season (not from your own team)?

    7. Tell us about your Nippon Draft pick and why you chose him.

    8. Predict the Cy Young / MVP winners.

Tough to say. The team played over their heads early, as the team was leading the wild card for most of the season. Then, injuries derailed the season with about 6 weeks to go.

    2. How do you feel about the offseason? Any key losses from last season? What additions did you make?

There were no real losses, but SF did sign 2 big additions. LF Wallace Gruber is a FA picked up from Milwaukee. Management is hoping a change of scenery may help him meet his potential for average and getting on base. C Carmine Donaldson was signed as a FA from Minnesota. SF probably overpaid for his skills, but catcher has been a huge hole in the lineup since Ron Schloss' last season in 2034.

    3. Any prospects coming up this season? Who do you feel will break thorugh this season and make an impact?

MR Jin-Song Chow will start the year with the big club for the first time in his career. He's a LHP with pretty good stuff.

    4. Predict your division standings at EOS? And WS matchup/winner?
    1. Colorado
    2. SF
    3. Arizona
    4. LAD
    5. SD

    7. Tell us about your Nippon Draft pick and why you chose him.

SF was towards the end of the draft, so the options were limited. There was a weakness at catcher and starting pitching. The good catchers were already drafted, so management went with LHP Jean-Francois Fournier from Orix. Francois has ML experience playing 1 year for Philly and a couple years in Tampa. SF is hoping he can finish out his 3 year contract before his ratings really dive.

    1. How do you feel about last season's team? Did you over or under achieve? Any players who had breakout season or underperformed for the year? We underachieved. Had a lot of players not play up to their skill level (Mainly Cornell Williams, Leonard Pruitt, Keiji Ota, and Victor Schmidt), and Cincinnati owned us all year. We didn't get any better come playoff time.

    2. How do you feel about the offseason? Any key losses from last season? What additions did you make?

Missed out on all of our major targets. Didn't lose anything more than a #5 and a catcher who has never fulfilled his potential, though. Added a couple of outfielders in Ion Ursu and Seung-heui Chang, and signed Hiroya Wantanabe as a depth catcher.

    3. Any prospects coming up this season? Who do you feel will break thorugh this season and make an impact?

SP Myron Floyd will get a full season in the rotation this year after pitching a partial season for Steve Mills. LF Eli Perez will also get a full season after performing well when called up as an injury replacement. 2B/3B Carlos Ramirez will look to build on a very solid September/postseason and will start out the season playing full time. SP Mike Peck will start the season in AAA but is the first guy to get the call in case of injury.

    4. Predict your division standings at EOS? And WS matchup/winner?

    1. Cubs
    2. Reds
    3. Pirates
    4. Cardinals
    5. Brewers

    5. Who had the best offseason (trades and FA requirements considered)?

The Mets and the Phillies had the best offseason, IMO. Mets added some talent, and the Phillies got a steal on one of the best infielders in the league, along with Langley for a good price.

    6. Who do you think will have a breakout year this season (not from your own team)?

Kasumoto Rin looks primed to have a huge year, as does Jerry Mason.

    7. Tell us about your Nippon Draft pick and why you chose him.

I took SP Ichizo Ito. I needed 1 more starting pitcher, and getting Ito was a cheap way to replace Santiago Villegas, who was looking to get way too much money in arbitration. The fly ball tendency is an issue, but he's been a very good pitcher the last 6 seasons and has started 30+ games a season (which in OOTP logic is bad enough to make him go from fragile to wrecked this offseason).

    8. Predict the Cy Young / MVP winners.

    NL Cy Young: Orlando Longoria
    NL MVP: Salvador Baca
    AL Cy Young: Angel Manuel
    AL MVP: Kevin Phillips

A year after getting the wildcard, team finished last in the ML. Old age and bad contracts seemed to catch up all at once and was pretty painful to watch.

    2. How do you feel about the offseason? Any key losses from last season? What additions did you make?

Slightly OK with the offseason, still need to address some pitching issues but brought in a platoon mate at third and picked up a power masher Goto in the NPB draft. lots of salary became available when a few contracts wrapped up.

    3. Any prospects coming up this season? Who do you feel will break thorugh this season and make an impact?

Lots of curiosity with new RF Goto, he put up constant MVP calibur numbers in Japan, but can he replicate that in ML?

    4. Predict your division standings at EOS? And WS matchup/winner?

    PHI
    Was
    ATL
    FLO
    NYM

    5. Who had the best offseason (trades and FA requirements considered)?

Pitt, mainly because i think Glider will be a CY contender. That move alone can change an entire team.

    6. Who do you think will have a breakout year this season (not from your own team)?

    See Glider from above.

    7. Tell us about your Nippon Draft pick and why you chose him.

Goto. With the third pick, i really really needed an SP but the two standout arms went 1-2. He was simply the best piece on the board at the time, basically couldn't let him pass.

    8. Predict the Cy Young / MVP winners.

NL MVP - Goian (because he always is in the talk)
    NL Cy - Glider
    AL MVP - Gonzales HOU
    AN CY - Mitchell NYY

    1. How do you feel about last season's team? Did you over or under achieve? Any players who had breakout season or underperformed for the year?

Took over halfway through the season and despite some key injuries, we snuck into the playoffs which i think was maybe a year ahead of schedule. Expecting bigger things this year since most of the core of the roster is beginning the prime years of their careers

    2. How do you feel about the offseason? Any key losses from last season? What additions did you make?

Extended DuPont so that was a solid step. No major moves though. Added a platoon at first base with a couple of veterans. No key losses.

    3. Any prospects coming up this season? Who do you feel will break thorugh this season and make an impact?

Two June SP call-ups possible in Harry Pearson and Tim Firks who could make an impact in the second half. I wouldve said Alfonso Cuellar to breakout but yet another injury sets him back. Though hes had a couple good seasons, i think Tim Dickson could finish in top 5 in the NL MVP race this season.

    4. Predict your division standings at EOS? And WS matchup/winner?

    1. Rockies
    2. Diamondbacks
    3. Giants
    4. Dodgers
    5. Padres

    5. Who had the best offseason (trades and FA requirements considered)?

I would say the Phillies got even stronger.

    6. Who do you think will have a breakout year this season (not from your own team)?

Easy way out but Glider seems like a stud coming from the NBL and should be in the thick of the CY Young race.

    7. Tell us about your Nippon Draft pick and why you chose him.

Bring the last pick in the draft, options were pretty limited. I would have preferred an arm but ended up taking RF Manuel Serna. He can really hit righties and I was able to throw him in the middle of the lineup. Struggles in the field a bit. Im fortunate to have picked him up due to early season injuries in the outfield already

    8. Predict the Cy Young / MVP winners.

AL Cy Young - Joseph Mitchell
    AL MVP - Vicente Maldonado
NL Cy Young - Richard Glider
    NL MVP - Petre Goian
