Currently in August of 2013.... August 22nd, 2013 Detroit @ Toronto Matthew Boros AKA "The Magician" didn't perform so well in Toronto today. He started off the game with ease by retiring the first two batters with strike outs but Jose Bautista would crush the 0-2 pitch for the games first points. Boros would continue to struggle throughout this one and was eventually pulled early in the 8th after giving up a 3 run shot. Game Stats IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA 7.1 8 5 5 0 7 2 2.21
August 28th, 2013 Detroit @ Minnesota Not a bad outting for Boros today as he would fan 9 and only give up 1 run. He again would not make it out of the 8th inning when Minnesota was starting to pour on the hits. Luckily for the Rookie he had a couple of Veteran relievers come in and close this one out. IP H R ER BB SO ERA 7.1 10 1 1 0 9 2.14
September 2nd, 2013 White Sox @ Tigers This was a big day for the Rookie as he would reach a Major League Milestone by striking out 10 batters, 11 to be exact. He started this game by striking out six straight before a batter even made contact. The Tiger would eventually win this one in the 10th inning, 1-0. IP H R ER BB SO ERA 7.1 3 0 0 0 11 1.98
September 7th, 2013 Orioles @ Tigers While Boros did not receive the loss today, he sure did not help the team win. Baltimore was able to score 4 runs off the Rookie, including a solo HR from Mark Reynolds. He would only pitch 5 innings and strike out 4 before he was pulled in favor of Schlereth, who would receive the loss after giving up the tie late in the game. Losing this game puts Detroit in a serious position to not make the playoffs but there is still the remainder of the month and they are only 1 game behind the White Sox in the AL Central. IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA 5.0 8 4 4 0 4 1 2.23
September 14th, 2013 Tigers vs White Sox Another great game from the Rookie. He pitched a complete game and held the Sox to just one point on 5 hits while the Tigers would provide the offense with 5 runs on 8 hits. Huge division game that put up atop the AL Central. IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA 9.0 5 1 1 0 7 0 2.06
September 20th, 2013 Tigers vs Twins Boros had a shutout going into the 7th inning before Justin Morneau would blast one to deep center. The Rookie would retire the side and for some reason be taken out with 2 outs left in the game. This was another huge win in the divisional race that put us 6.5 games ahead of Chicago IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA 8.1 6 1 1 0 6 1 2.06
September 25th, 2013 Tigers @ Indians Another complete game, another win. Boros had a big game which saw him record his 100th career strikeout. This is quite an accomplishment for a Rookie who got called up in June. This puts us 4.5 games ahead of the Royals who have surprisingly surpassed the White Sox. Boros will not pitch again in the regular season. The Tigers currently sit in 4th place of the AL and will most likely skip the Wild Card Playoff Round. IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA 9.0 6 1 1 0 6 0 1.99
2013 Final Regular Season Stats 18 Games Played 18 Games Started 131.1 Innings Pitched 12 Wins 3 Losses 1.99 ERA 0.86 WHIP 103 Strikeouts 0 Walks 113 Hits Allowed 8 HR Allowed 29 Runs Allowed 29 Earned Runs 7 Complete Games 3 Shutouts
Tigers won the ALDS but fell to the Rangers in the ALCS Game 6. Apparently I wasn't allowed to pitch as it completely skipped through the whole playoffs
