    2nd Annual C2C:MVP

I am going to do this slightly differently this year, due to time constraints on me with other OD's and work/family. This year I will be selecting the top 8 players, and will update it at least twice prior to the conference championships, when the list will be reduced to 5 finalists.

2012 MVP Candidates (through week 4)

    Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Column 4 Column 5 Column 6
Name Team Position Year Key Stats Comments
    T. Richardson Alabama HB RS Junior 76 carries, 366 yards, 5 TD Richardson is the Bama workhorse, but he struggled in a blowout vs FSU (42 yards and a TD), but rebounded in a win vs Oregon (118 yards and 2 TD).
    J. Reed Florida QB RS Junior 1,006 yards, 12 TD/4 INT Brantley is the general spreading the ball around to all the weapons on offense the Gators have, he had 181 yards and 1 TD/1 INT in a win vs OU, and 249 yards and 2 TD in win at OSU.
    J. Harley FSU SS Senior 24 tackles, 2 TFL, 4 INT, 3 TD The next in line of great FSU safeties. Had 11 tackles, 1 TFL, 3 INT and 2 TD in blowout win vs Bama.
    T. Streeter Miami WR RS Senior 15 catches, 281 yards, 1 TD The leader of a ludicrously talented Miami WR corp, he racked up 99 yards in a revenge win vs Utah.
    C. Wood Notre Dame HB RS Junior 129 carries, 829 yards, 9 TD, 124 yards receiving, 2 TD Wood is making a second run at 2,000 yards, he had 275 yards and 2 TD.
    D. Jordan Oregon TE RS Senior 21 catches, 356 yards, 6 TD Jordan is the key WR in Oregons attack, and he came up big in a close loss to Alabama with 108 yards and a TD.
    G. Gilbert Texas QB RS Junior 885 yards, 9 TD, 2 INT Texas has designed it's offense around Gilberts passing ability, and he played well vs OSU with 247 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT.
    S. Shakerin Utah HB RS Senior 650 yards, 10 TD, 178 yards receiving, 1 TD Shakerin carries the load for the Ute's in 2011, and he had 107 yards and 2 TD in a last second loss vs Miami.

    Let the debate commence.

With the recent surge Jackson has made he may be a new contender while T-Rich's performance has been average at best. I got with Dru and I'm supposed to be looking for some darkhorse guys to maybe join the hunt or possibly replace some guys.

    Also I'm curious how a SS can get 1000+ yards 12 TD's and 4 INT's...

I am taking a vow of silence until Michael Cox works his way on that list.

yea, you rotate backs too much for Richardson to be a contender. Its not like Shakerin or Woods where they are the only ones to touch the damn ball

Geez, cut me some slack guys, I was being lazy when I put this together.:p

I will be doing the second round of MVP candidates when we next advance (but who knows when that will be).

I would say the Oklahoma O-line as the MVP so far.

Don't worry about other players, award is going to Jordan Reed along with Heisman, Maxwell, and Davey O'Brien awards. :p

Oh and draft class updated a few nights ago but only Dru responded. Get to work people :).

Garrett Gilbert isn't going away easily on the QB awards. It's going to be him or Reed for the O'Brien.

In my mind, the MVP gets decided when FSU plays Florida. Especially since that game will hinge on whether Reed can move the ball against Harley and that ballhawking Seminole secondary.

I got no comment because I've only seen two of the players first hand and wasn't overly impressed with either to be honest.

    I can't pimp a player I haven't seen....so there you have it. :)

Utah's Offensive coordinator is up in arms over these comments haha; Our backup HB has 10 TD's and our QB is in the top 5 as well...

I think Oregon has 3 possible candidates... QB, TE, and RB. I think whichever player has the best game(s) against USC and Utah will be the one I endorse.

    Dion Jordan is ridiculous!
With his size and speed (6'7 i think 90 speed) he is like a mix between Deon Sanders and Michael Jordan... hence the name.
