#4 Clemson @ #3 UNC Some say "the best offense is a great defense." Well they would be right in this one. Clemsons offense struggled most of the game but they were never forced to open things up as the defense outscored UNC by themselves. Junior ourside linebacker intercepted an early Robertson pass and took to the house to give the Tigers a 10-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. With the score at 10-3 in the second Clemson was forced to punt after a 3 and out. The Heels returner muffed the punt though and a play later Clemson running back Smith took it in from four yards out to make the game 17-3. The Heels would manage another field goal by the end of the half making it 17-6. The Clemson defense would tighten up in the second half and get a little luck as well. Heisman trophy winner Marcus Kerr struggled to get going in the game as the Heels were forced to play from behind and the Clemson defense knocking him out for parts of the game. It looked as if Kerr had scored to pull within one score but the ball squirted out and Clemson took over. Another Clemson pick six and the final score would read 27-6. Big win for Clemson as they try to regain their spot atop the division.
