New Owner Billy Carter's acquisition of the team has been a ride none the less. In his first game as owner the 49ers hosted NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks. It was an exciting week for the new owner as his team came away with a 37-21 victory. The defense came to play only giving up 168 yds passing and 63 yds rushing, with 5 sacks and 3 takeaways. The offense played decent gaining 129 yds through the air and 238 on the ground. Carlos Hyde had 166 yds on 18 carries with 1 TD. Colin Kaepernick was 9/17 with two TD's and two INT's

The next game was a barn burner as the 49ers faced the St. Louis Rams. The 49ers were able to build a 1st half lead only to watch it slip away in the second half. The St. Louis Rams came out fired up in the 2nd half and took the lead late in the 4th. The 49ers were able to mount a drive to tie it up, and take the game to overtime. In OT the 49ers were able to come away with a 34-31 win. The Defense gave up 261 yds through the air, but played decent run defense only giving up 61 yds. Offensively the 49ers gained 216 yds through the air, and 174 yds on the ground. Owner Billy Carter was heard saying after the game, "I don't how many more games like this I can endure. It was just to close for comfort."

The next week the 49ers fell to the undefeated Atlanta Falcons in a heartbreaker. The Falcons running game along with a bomb to Julio Jones was just to much to overcome. The defense gave up 251 yds through the air, and 148 on the ground. Matt Ryan was 13/18 for 262, 1 TD, 1 INT. Justin Forsett had 17 carries for 72 yds, and Tevin Coleman had 13 carries for 68 yds. The 49ers offense played mistake free football but was only able to gain 190 yds through the air, and 82 yds on the ground. Kaepernick was 14/24 for 190 and 1 TD. Carlos Hyde had 21 carries for 69 yds and 2 TD's

The 49ers had a bye week in week 10, and spent the week of practice going over the playbook, both offense and defense.

In week 11 the 49ers were set to face the Seattle Seahawks, however there was a scheduling conflict and the 49ers came away with a 34-3 win putting them at 5-5 with a big division game in week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Owner Billy Carter had a talk with his coaches this week about trying to finish strong. There have been several games this season where the team has come out strong in the 1st half and struggled in the second half. However, a big part of the issues in the second half offensively was accuracy issues with Kaepernick, he missed several wide open receivers at crucial times that killed a few drives. The defense played the run really well but didn't have an answer for Alshon Jeffery and the fly route as he amassed 202 yards on 7 carries and 2 TD's.

Offensively the 49ers run game was stagnate all game long and the 49ers were only able to gain 42 on 24 carries. Carlos Hyde was held to 27 yards on 19 carries. Kaepernick finished the game 22/37 for 275 with 1 TD and 1 INT. Newly acquired Justin Hunter contributed 2 receptions for 26 yards. Vernon Davis had 6 receptions for 81, Boldin had 3 receptions for 56 yards before he left the game with an injury, Torrey Smith hauled in 4 receptions for 58 yards, Carlos Hyde had 6 receptions for 39, and Vance McDonald had 2 catches for 27 yards.

It has been said the mark of a good team is not if you can win a game when your playing good, rather it's if you can win when your playing bad. The 49ers have been able to get the W the last two weeks, and they have played very poorly. The 49ers will travel to Cleveland this week to play the dog pound. Owner Billy Carter is still waiting for this team to click, and he is hoping they do this week, as they control their own destiny in the playoff picture.

Week 16 was a crucial matchup for the 9er's in Detroit as they are trying to keep pace in the division. The defense came to play forcing 5 INT's and 1 FF. The first quarter was a defensive battle, but the Lions got on the board first with a FG. The 49er's offense exploded in the 2nd quarter scoring 21 points and the defense gave up only 7. At halftime the score was 21-10.

Both teams seemed to settle in, in the 3rd quarter with both teams scoring 10 points a piece. At the end of the 3rd the score was 31-20. In the 4th Quarter the 9er's defense came to play holding the Lions scoreless, and the Offense contributed 7 as Torrey Smith took a curl route to pay dirt. The final score was 49ers 38 Lions 20.

Despite a week 17 loss the 49ers goals were met by making the playoffs under 1st year owner Billy Carter. The 49ers played in the Wild Card game yesterday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 49ers came out to play but turnovers killed them before the game really started. After trading touchdowns, Kaepernick threw a pick 6, and Torrey Smith fumbled and gave the Bucs the ball deep in 9er territory and the defense allowed a td and before the end of the first quarter it was 21-7. The 49ers went on to lose 45-20. Owner Billy Carter said he was proud of the effort of his men, they never gave up, but felt that the coaching staff needed a shake up so he fired the whole staff.

The 49ers now turn their attention to the draft, and they hope to make their ball team better.

The 49ers began the 2017 season with a whole new look. Last season the newly acquired general manager, nearly sunk the 49ers with free agent acquisitions, and only a couple lasted a year. The offseason proved to be an exciting one for 49er fans as the general manager learned from his mistakes and has began to build the team the correct way; through the draft. He also made some bold moves in cutting the franchise QB, and Ahmad Brooks. He began the 2017 season by trading Ladarius Green to Atlanta for Blake Bortles. He then traded Jeremy Lane and Arik Armstead to the Snohawks for CB Jason Verrett. Then it was time to prepare for the draft. The 49ers are excited about this years draft class. They drafted 5 starters who will contribute this year.

In week 1 of the 2017 season the 49ers hosted the Chicago Bears and what a game it was. 49ers QB Blake Bortles finished the game 16/32 with 216 yards passing, 3 TD's and 1 Pick. RB Carlos Hyde ran for 66 yards on 17 carries. WR Sterling Griffin sealed the game late with a 49 yard TD reception, and caught 4 passes for 86 yards 1 TD. WR Torrey Smith had 2 catches for 67 yards and a TD, and TE Vernon Davis had 5 catches for 122 and a TD.

The bright spot however was the youngsters contributing on defense. Rookie LB Gage Taylor finished with 4 tackles and 1 sack. Rookie CB Takoby Lee had 4 tackles, and a sack, and Rookie SS Rashard Gray ended with 6 tackles. Newly acquired CB Jason Verrett had 3 tackles and 1 INT, and FS Eric Reid posted 4 tackles, and a pick.

The defense overall had their hands full as QB Andrew Jones finished the day 28/42 for 465 1 TD, and 2 INT's. The Bears used a RB by committee approach and RB Ka'Deem Carey had 9 carries for 45 yards, and RB Ray Rice had 8 carries for 41 yds. The Bears Twin Tower WR's were a headache all game. WR Alshon Jeffery hauled in 9 receptions for 175 yards, and WR Mike Evans hauled in 5 receptions for 93 yards and a TD.

The 49ers were able to hold on to get the win 26-23, to start the year off 1-0.

In week 2 the 49ers hosted the Washington Redskins. This was a hard hitting defensive game. The difference in this game was a gamble on defense by the Redskins and a perfect read by QB Blake Bortles as he recognized the coverage and called an to hit Rookie WR Martaze Duncan in stride down the sideline in route to a 92 yard TD reception. 49ers QB Blake Bortles finished the game 10/22 for 251, 2 TD's and 1 INT. RB Carlos Hyde ran for 80 yards on 15 carries. WR Martaze Duncan had 2 catches for 98 yards and a TD and WR Sterling Griffin had 4 receptions for 73 yards and 1 TD.

Both defenses played great games, and it came down to the wire. The 49ers played bend don't break defense all day and came up with 2 crucial turnovers in the red zone. Once again the 49ers rookies came up big as rookie SS Rashard Gray had 7 tackles and huge pick. Tacoby Lee finished with 3 tackles. FS Eric Reid had 5 tackles and a sack.

The 49ers again held on to get the win 14-10 improving to 2-0 to begin the season.

In week 3 the 49ers travelled to Arizona to take on the Cardinals. The 49ers defense didn't play as well as expected giving up 79 yards on the ground to Melvin Gordon and 2 TD's. Cardinals QB Ryland Hyde put up 309 yards through the air with 1 TD and 1 pick. However the 49ers have a young defense and Owner Billy Carter knows there will be growing pains.

Offensively the 49ers played well. 49ers QB Blake Bortles went 26/41 for 237 with 3 TD's and 1 INT. Newly acquired HB David Johnson played well against his former team rushing 6 times for 90 yards and 1 TD. Carlos Hyde carried the load rushing for 92 yards on 18 carries.

Stud safety Eric Reid led the defense in tackles with 4 and contributed the lone INT of the game for the defense. 49ers win 38-28, improving to 3-0.

In week 4 the 49ers were on the road facing yet another division opponent. The pep talk given to the defense following their sub par performance in week 3 must have worked, because they showed flashes of what Owner Billy Carter envisioned they could be. The 49ers defense was a headache for Seahawks QB Russell Wilson all day holding him to 173 yards and 4 INT's while going 18/33. Seahawks HB Thomas Rawls did have a decent day rushing for 54 yards on 15 carries and 2 TD's. However, the 49ers rookies played well. Rookie SS Rashard Gray had 2 tackles and 2 INT's, Rookie CB Takoby Lee had 2 tackles and 1 INT, and FS Eric Reid had 4 tackles and 1 INT. Also both 49ers DE Aaron Lynch, and Jaquies Smith posted a sack.

The 49ers offense also showed signs of its potential. 49ers QB Blake Bortles had a decent day going 23/36 for 326 with 4 TD's and his 3 INT's were user errors causing him to make bad reads. The 49ers wanted to pound the rock this week and they did. 49ers HB Carlos Hyde ran for 122 on 24 carries and 1 TD. The most surprising statistics of this game came from the 49ers 2 young wideouts. First year WR Sterling Griffin had 4 receptions for 128 and 2 TD's, and Rookie WR Martaze Duncan hauled in 4 catches for 80 yards. WR Torrey Smith had 4 catches for 70 yards and 2 TD's.

The 49ers were able to win another crucial division game early in the season 41-18 and improved to 4-0.

The 49ers were back at home in week 5 hosting the Houston Texans. This was an exciting game in which both defenses played well, and done their part creating turnover's to give the respective offenses extra chances to score. The 49ers came out sluggish and could not move the ball, giving up an early lead, and putting the defense in bad positions, and kept them on the field for far too long. However the 49ers offense caught a spark and closed the gap, but just could not overcome the hole they allowed themselves to climb into.

Texans QB Tom Savage was 19/29 for 249 with 3 TD's and 4 INT's. The Texans HB Jeremy Langford played really well post 55 yards on 4 carries and 1 TD. Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins was held to 42 yards on 6 catches and 2 TD's.

However, 49ers QB Blake Bortles could not get going. He was down right horrible finishing 20/42 for 217 with 1 TD and 3 INT's. 49ers HB Carlos Hyde was held in check gaining just 25 yards on 10 carries and 1 INT. The bright spot of the game offensively for the 49ers was provided by rookie WR Martaze Duncan who had 73 yards on 5 catches, and HB David Johnson who had 68 yards on 9 carries, and 1 TD.

The 49ers defensive rookies played another good game. LB Gage Taylor tallied 4 tackles, and CB Takoby Lee recorded 5 tackles, 1 Sack, and 1 Int. Newly acquired LB Max Bullough hauled in 2 INT's. However, it was not enough the 49ers came away with their first loss of the season, and now set at 4-1.

Coming off their first loss of the season, the 49ers played host to the Cardinals in week 6. The crowd was pumped up for this one as reports were swirling this week that Owner Billy Carter was not happy with the offensive performance last week in front of the home crowd. A report leaked that Owner Billy Carter was heard reaming the team a new one and that several pieces of furniture had to be replaced in the locker room after he left the locker room following last week's game.

Needless to say it must have worked, as the 49ers appeared to be a totally different team than the Cardinals seen in their week 3 contest. 49ers QB Blake Bortles came out slinging the rock, finishing completing 18/19 for 329 and 5 TD'S before the coach decided to pull him in the 3rd quarter to give QB Blaine Gabbert some of the action. Gabbert finished 2/3 for 21 yards and 1 TD. 49ers HB Carlos Hyde came out like a man possessed rushing for 118 yards on 17 carries and 1 TD. He was also pulled in the 3rd quarter and HB David Johnson entered the game and showed why the 49ers were so glad they signed him. Johnson rushed for 134 yards on 9 carries and 1 TD. Everyone was involved in the passing game. WR Torrey Smith had 64 yards on 2 catches for 1 TD. Backup TE Vance McDonald had 2 catches for 20 yards and a TD. Rookie WR Martaze Duncan had 86 yards on 4 catches and 2 TD's, and first year WR Sterling Griffin had 90 yards on 5 catches and 2 TD's.

Defensively the 49ers were nasty and they created 3 turnovers that all resulted in points. CB's Exavier Shipley and Jason Verrett both had INT's and one was returned for a TD, and the defense was also able to force a fumble deep in Cardinals territory. Cardinals HB Melvin Gordon was held in check finishing with 46 yards on 13 carries. The 49ers won in a rout 63-20.

In week 8 the 49ers hosted the New York football Giants. The 49ers looked to continue their dominance from week 7. They were doing just that, but a lost connection caused the game to be replayed, and the 49ers didn't have the same intensity they had in the first game. The game started with a bang as 49ers HB Jarryd Hayne took the opening kickoff back for a TD. However, the Giants would strike back going up 21-7 before the 49ers woke up and took the lead right before the half 28-21. The 49ers defense settled in in the second half only allowing one more score the rest of the game while the offense tallied 2 more TD's.

Giants QB Zach Mettenberger played well in the 2nd game early but appeared he was color blind in the second half throwing it directly to two 49ers defenders. Mettenberger finished 16/31 for 387 with 3 TD's and 3 INTS. Standouts for the Giants were WR Dre Dixon who had 5 catches for 123 and 1 TD, and TE Barry Hennings who had 3 catches for 100 yards. HB Andre Williams was held in check rushing for 20 yards on 14 carries with 1 TD.

49ers QB Blake Bortles protected the football for the most part only throwing 1 int. He finished 15/27 for 290 yards 4 TD's and the 1 INT. HB David Johnson may have taken over the starting HB job from Carlos Hyde. Johnson was given the chance to start and he didn't disappoint rushing for 158 yards on 27 carries and 1 TD. Rookie WR Martaze Duncan had 4 catches for 92 and 1 TD. First year WR Sterling Griffin had his best day as a 9er hauling in 5 catches for 124 and 3 TD's.

Rookie SS Rashard Gray continues to have a great year. Gray had 2 INT's, and FS Eric Reid contributed 3 tackles and 1 INT. The surprise this week was that the defense was actually able to put pressure on Mettenberger sacking him 6 times. DT Ian Williams had 3 sacks, DE Aaron Lynch had 2 sacks, and DE had 1 sack and a FF.

Another bright spot was 49ers punter Bryan Anger. Anger was able to flip field position over and over again, placing 4 punts inside the 10 yard line.

The 49ers went on to win the game 42-28, improving to 6-1.
