The San Francisco 49ers have had an active offseason. Some of the activity was anticipated as the Jim Harbaugh drama came to a head immediately after the season concluded. The team ended up deciding on the internal promotion of defensive line coach Jim Tomsula. The Harbaugh era has come to an end and enter the Tomsula regime under new ownership in The Q. Of the 2014 roster, noteable losses to free agency in the off-season were HB Frank Gore (Colts), WR Michael Crabtree (Raiders), OG Mike Iupati (Cardinals), and CB Perrish Cox (Titans). Much to the dismay of special teams coaching staff, punter Andy Lee was traded to the Browns for a 7th round pick. The retirement of veterans OT Anthony Davis, DT Justin Smith, and LB Patrick Willis were somewhat unexpected. The 49ers have made preparations for those losses with free agent acquisitions of HB Reggie Bush, WR's Torrey Smith and Jerome Simpson, OT Erik Pears, LB Philip Wheeler, and DT Darnell Dockett. All are expected to compete for the starting role at their respective positions. Despite overshadowing reports of inner turmoil and surprising, premature retirements; the 49ers are poised to move forward in 2015. Under new ownership in The Q, the team will expect contributions from several of their rookie draft picks. Here is a rundown of the 49ers entire 2015 NFL Draft class: 1 (17).
