Not much going on over the last week besides a loss to SEA. Having Ginn go out for the year has hurt, no speed anywhere. Heres bates write up on the game:

To say that the Seahawks were motivated for this game would be an understatement. The last 3 games going back to Madden 10's OMFL season resulted in shut outs put up by Dritch. Coach Bates knows what Dritch likes to do and until today, he wasn't able to do anything to stop it.

The story of the game was turnovers. The 49ers had 6, and the Seahawks had none. 49ers play a defense that eliminates the run and dares you to pass and this game, Snead did. On a play in the 2nd quarter, Snead noticed rookie Emmanuel Sanders was being covered 1-1 with no safety over the top, so he hot routed him to a streak. This adjustment worked beautifully and Sanders scored on a perfectly thrown bomb from Snead. Going into the half the score was 13-3.

In the 2nd half we would see the 49ers move the ball more effectively but they also continued to shoot themselves in the foot with turnovers. 2nd half we also saw the game go away from Snead a little bit as the 49ers defense was intimidating him so 4th quarter Coach Bates elected to run the ball more. After 2 straight 3 and outs running straight into teeth of 49ers defense, Coach Bates called a play action pass to Golden Tate that broke the back of the 49ers defense as he went in for a 92 yard TD.

Seahawks have long been out of playoff race but this win was a long time coming for this Seahawks team. Game ball goes to Jevan Snead who was 11-20 for 202 yards and 2 TDs.

Also of note...Earl Thomas' rookie season is now over as he went down with a partial PCL tear sometime in the 3rd quarter.

Niners got a big win against the Chargers, and no injuries, thats always key. Heres the writeup:

After a game or two of not playing like they normally do, SF got back on the ball in this one.

SF started off with the ball and marched right down the field in a few plays, but however had to settle for a FG. With the Niners playing overwhelming defense, that led the way for the Frank Gore show, with 100+ yards and 2 TDs in the 2nd quarter. QB Alex Smith also had a nice 9yd run for a TD. SD's RB Mathews was able to bust one out of a stacked line somehow for a 70yd TD, the only score of the day. 27-7 at the half

Gore would add another 50+ yard TD run in the 3rd. Rest of the game was SF's defense not allowing anything, and Gore getting first down after first down. 37-7 final score, GG

    Niners:

    QB Smith 11\17 192yds 1int
RB Gore 27atts 257yds 3 TDs (Player of the Game)
    SS Mays 4tkls, 1int
    LB Willis 5tkls 1 sack

    Chargers:

    QB Rivers 8\13 77yds 3ints
    RB Mathews 13atts 119yds 1 TD
    LB Butler 3tkls, 1int
