I PM'd Dru last night to see what he thought about me running the 5-2 against teams that run a lot. It's within the rules, but just wanted to make sure yall thought it was OK. In reality, I was just going to unleash it again Boom29 or Cheez because they run more than average.

It's not actually the 5-2 but it would be the 4-3 under plus. FSU's DE's are 91 and 87 and the DTs are 86,85,85 so I'd love to get all 5 of them on the field at the same time but not be in goal line. The 4-3 under plus looks just like a 5-2, so I'd move DE Bjorn Werner to OLB (basically a standing DE) and move one of the 3 DTs to that DE spot.

The rule for OLBs are over 220 and under 86 speed, and Werner easily passes those tests. He also did a little stand-up DE in real life the past year.

I thought of it about 1 hour to late after realizing I'd love to run the 5-2 when South Carolina came out in 2 WR sets. Even if I knew Lattimore was running, sometimes I'd let up 4-5 yards. It'd be a fun chess match against Cheez and Tennessee I'd think.

Do you really want to force him to pass? He's pretty good at slinging the rock :D

I don't have an issue with it - but likewise you better not have an issue if someone abuses a HB or TE in coverage against that set.

Yeah I'm fine with that. I'd mostly want to use it on 3rd/4th and short or 1 WR sets where I send all 5 linemen.

I don't have an issue as long as it as long as it's not the 5-2 defense and then substituting one/two linebackers for the end rushers.

That doesn't even really bother me..... those ends last year were standing up like LBs on the LOS anyways and not in 3 pt stances, basically just makes it an alternate 3-4 or 4-3 at that point
