Michigan returned home to take on their 3rd straight Top 5 team to start the season prior to conference play. Coach Berta was nervous at first as Boise St. had not played yet this year and had had ample time to gameplan for the Wolverines.

Denard "Shoelaces" Robinson came to play and Boise had nobody that seemed ready to stop him. Even when Denard would get outside running the option, Boise's lone player would take the pitch man allowing Denard to run for loooong TD runs. Denard had TD runs of 20, 64, and 72 yds. He was (9, 172, 3) on the ground and went (13-19, 233, 3) through the air. True Freshmen WR Adam Smith showed face catching 3 TD passes on his way to a (4, 98, 3) line.

The Wolverines are undefeated and the unanimous #1 ahead of Alabama. Alabama has yet to play a decent opponent but has posted huge stat lines. Michigan opens up Big Ten play next week @ home v. Wisconsin.
