#9 FSU @ #8 Clemson Clemson came out of the gates firing on all cylinders as freshman reciever Pollock caught two touchdown passes (17, 59) in the first quarter as Clemson lead 14-3. Florida State answered the bell in the second quarter as quarterback Bostic would run and throw for touchdowns on back to back drives taking a 17-14 lead. Parham would quickly throw an interception on the following drive setting up Florida State with first and ten inside the Clemson 30. After a play action fake quarterback Bostic found his tight end at the five. While fighting for the end zone junior all american cornerback Doug Morris stripped the ball and it was recovered at the 1 by Clemson. Replayed after the game showed that the refs actually did get the call right to the disbelief of both coaches. Parham capitulized on the turnover and took his team 99 yards with a drive ended by a 65 pass to freshman Coleman, who muscled past the defender for 6. The second half scoring went back and forth to the very end. The Seminoles took a 35-31 lead with 1:55 left on a run by fullback Gordon. They left too much time on the clock as Parham proved to be clutch again, using both his feet and his arm to moved his team down the field quickly. The drive stalled though inside the red zone forcing a 4th and 4 for the game. Parham again hit freshman receiver Coleman, who used his 6'4" 222 lb frame to shield the cornerback for a 7 yard gain and a first down. The team hurried to the line and Parham threw quickley over the middle but lead his receiver too far across the middle. Luckily for Tiger fans Pollard was able to leap and make the finger tip catch with 17 seconds left. Clemson wins 38-35.
