A new Chapter in the SWAMP UF comes into this season with a bit of a different look, some of the elements of the spread are still around, but without a QB who can really run it the way it should be coach Penguins staff has turned to a more balanced attack. They will be looking to give the ball to there big time players, while protecting there young quarterbacks. A more conservative playbook was called for and help has come from an OC who most recently spent time in the MWC. The coaching staff liked the arm of true freshman Jamaal Williams, but his lack of ability to escape any pass rush at all combined with the prospect of starting a true freshman on the road in the SEC has the staff turning the ball over to (rs) sophomore Casey Bryant. Bryant easily out dueled the seemingly more talented (rs) junior Joel Reynolds as with Reynolds could run a little bit he failed to display enough arm strength to throw it deep, or the accuracy to be counted on short. Defense and special teams will be counted on to give this team boost while the offense finds there way this season. Our DC upon learning that the 3-3-5 was not sanctioned by the NCAA an acceptable form of defense has turned to the 3-4 and has a put of ton of weight on his linebackers this season. (rs) Senior LB John Bostic will lead the defense that is short on experience, but that may not be a bad thing with the new scheme being introduced this season. This is not a season were the expectations in the Swamp are for a championship, but getting back on track starts now.
