Coachmedicis This weekend is a little up in the air for me... I'll definitely have some time to knock our game out but going to be tough to schedule in advance. Tonight is out, and I'll be busy either Sat or Sun during the day but not sure which. When are you free?
Cole Walters today is definitely best - after maybe 5:30 or 6 or maybe at lunch (i'm working from home today)
Otherwise Saturday early morning is all I've got, and I mean early. I've gotta drive to Cleveland for a wedding at like 3 so I have to leave around Noon at the latest.
RFF I'm running a 60+ team basketball tournament this weekend so during the day Saturday and Sunday is out for me. I can play tonight or late night sat or Sunday.
How about some discussion? Of the 8 remaining teams who is your pick or are your picks for the Superbowl? Why? There's a lot of good storylines.
Also since I'm tagging everyone please see the schedule which I updated for Season 6.
Season 5 Draft: Sunday 5/3
Season 6 Draft: Sunday 5/10
Reason: We want to try out a new entirely simulated season format before Madden 15 winds down mostly to see if it is a viable option for Madden 16. The upshot of this is that there will be much less downtime for non-playoff teams between seasons. The downside is that this league's offseason is going to absolutely gobble up a lot of your time. Between scouting rookies, submitting waivers, trimming your roster, then doing it all over again for Season 7.... trust me its just a very busy time. But its also my favorite time since there is a lot you can do to upgrade your roster. New guys, please ask questions or let anyone know if there is something you don't understand we are happy to help. Also this is a critical time in team development so if you cannot manage the team PLEASE let me know so we can find a replacement to actually try and field a quality team.
Now, discuss all the playoff action!
RAMS ARE BROKEN
Also - which new member is dano1934 on the DL page? I just need to know so I can link/approve your DL account with our HaW league and assign it the proper team.
AFC: I honestly see a Bronco's Colts AFCC. I know that may seem like I'm sandbagging but watching the Colts play Troy last night.... man they look really really good, nice job Cole. That and the Bronco's are just absolutely beast right now, knocking the Patriots out of the playoffs when they had EVERYTHING on the line. So thats my AFCC and I'll take the Bronco's in a freaking shootout to win it.
NFC: Lions and Vikes meet every year.... who wins? Lions just went to the last Superbowl so based on I guess the law of averages (or some other statistical bullcrap that I can attempt to use incorrectly just to get under RFF's statistical skin) I'll take the Vikes. Then just another delicious matchup with the upstart Redskins taking on the all too familiar Cowboys. Kinda neat that we have two intradivision games to decide who goes to the NFCC. I'll take the Cowboys in that one.... just seems like their year. In the NFCC a Cowboys, Vikes matchup will just be awesome. There is certainly no love lost here but I'm confident both teams will be on their best behavior and we'll have a quality SLUGFEST. I'm really pulling for NEW teams in the Superbowl so as much as my true Bills fandom hates it I'll take the Boys to represent the NFC in the SB.
SB: Bronco's, Boys. Just flip a coin really. Really great teams... I don't believe they've ever faced one another. Both teams can do it all. Both have amazing QBs, both amazing WRs... playmakers all over the place on defense. I see it going the way of whoever gets a couple breaks maybe a fumble or a wild roughing the passer call on a critical 3rd and long... stuff like that. I'd be happy to see either team win but my gut tells me Cowboys.
Good luck to everyone!
Sounds like late night Saturday is the only window to play then, since the week will advance before you can play on Sunday. The lateness Saturday isn't an issue for me, but I may be committed to something until late, plans are still up in the air (and unfortunately not my decision).
RaiderRed90 I can play tonight around 10 pm cst or tomorrow after 6 pm cst. Sunday is pretty open for me, so just let me know what works for you.
SD @ DEN
Much as I love SD's crazy turnover-forcing defense and potent passing attack, Denver looks like they've made the leap this season from perennial playoff team to top tier contender. SD's defense is too good to let this turn into a blowout, they'll keep within striking distance all game. But I see Denver's offense putting up major points and leaving SD in the dust.
DEN 41 SD 31
IND @ BUF
Indy's another team that certainly looks improved this season. Luck is turning in huge performance after huge performance as IND seems like the most terrifying passing attack in the league. Fresh off the heels of making OAK's defense--a defense, by the way, headed up by one of the best HCs in the league in Troy J.--look downright silly, this might be the most intriguing matchup of the entire playoffs: Indy's Unstoppable Force offense against Buffalo's Immovable Object defense. I really could see this game going either way, and the SB-defending Bills know how to make elite offenses look incompetent. But I'm going with gut and taking the UPSET SPECIAL here.
IND 31 BUF 28
WAS @ DAL
WAS is a well-coached team who is certainly familiar with the Cowboys' team--a slight advantage for the clear-cut underdog. RG3 will put up some points, but I just don't think the Skins have the defense to keep Dallas in check. I could see this getting lopsided or stay very close, but in either case I think Dallas' roster is simply too much for Washington to overcome this season.
DAL 34 WAS 20
DET @ MIN
While I'm not going to make a prediction outright for a game in which I'm playing, the Lions go into this one the clear-cut underdog, having lost to the Vikes the past 2-3 times these teams have faced each other. Minnesota has exhibited their usual villainous dominance on both sides of the ball this season, but I won't do the artificial sandbagging thing here--DET may be the underdogs, sure, but one thing the Lions have proven over the past 4 seasons is that they are typically a different team come playoffs, a true second half team that is very capable of winning this game. If the score remains tight heading into the 4th, I like our chances.
I can do tonight, I'll probably get home around 8:30 then I'm good to go. Sound good?
Was kinda bored and curious who had the most playoff games under their belt, and was legitimately surprised at some of the results:
Can't do tonight. Pre existing plans.
Tomorrow after 6 should be good though. Or anytime after 2 Sunday
Chargers v Broncos: Felfar plays defense, I try to have 11 players on the field on time. ADV: Chargers
Colts v Bills: Keller has Brett Sutton and Rahmon Pope, why does Cole even bother? ADV: Bills
Vikings v Lions: Rff has CJ, CJ paved the way for Demaryius and I like Baybay. Coach coach's basketball I like basketball. ADV: Coin Flip- Vikings
Cowboys v Skins: Raider's season 1 trade gave me Acosta and Montgomery sorry BigK. ADV: Cowboys
Chargers v Bills: Sir Felgar is a Knight, Keller has a pope. Amen ADV: Chargers
Cowboys v Vikings: Minny has the Mighty Ducks movie, Dallas Any Given Sunday ADV: Vikes
Chargers v Vikings: My creepy uncle is a Vikings fan ADV: Chargers
Want to plan on 6 than? I might be off work early so I can let you know if you want to get it done earlier.
Sounds good man. See ya at 6
Had some plans change. I should be free around maybe 11:30ish if you're interested. If not 6 is still good
Ya that would be alright
