    2012 Week 9
Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles – 6
    LSU Tigers - 59

Baton Rouge, LA – The LSU Tigers dismantled an overmatched Southern Mississippi team 59-6 in Death Valley.

Sophomore sensation Tony Landry had 159 yards and 4 touchdowns in the first half before the starters were pulled for the second half. Overall, LSU racked up 295 yards on the ground on 50 carries, controlling the clock for most of the game.

The LSU defense once again showed up, allowing only 4 first downs to the Golden Eagles. The only score Southern Miss could manage was a 70 yard screen pass in the 1st quarter. After that, both the first and second defensive units shut them down.

The Tigers get a much needed bye week next which will allow them to heal a bit before facing off with Alabama in Death Valley.
