    AFC Divisional: Jags (10) @ Chargers (27)

    Chargers to AFC Championship

Behind a swarming defense and a sound running game, the San Diego Chargers defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-13 to advance to the AFC championship. The first half was a defensive battle as both teams, had trouble keeping any momentum, San Diego would strike first after a Jags punt in their opening drive, the Chargers would drive down the field, but the drive stalled, Kaeding hits a 45 yarder to give SD the lead 3-0. The Jags would come back with an impressive drive spanning 75 yards and eating up most of the first quarter, scoring on a 16 yard run by Jennings.

The second quarter saw both defenses dominate as both offenses exchange punts for the most part, Kaeding hits a 50 yard FG to cut the Jags lead 7-6 going into halftime.

The second half is where the Chargers would take control of the game, the third quarter would be one that hunts Jags coach dunlap for the remainder of the offseason, the Jags would extend their lead to 10-6 late in the third on a Bironas FG. Chargers had no answer for the score on their ensuing drive and punted the ball away. Driving down the field Jags QB Garrard would throw and ill-advised pass into double coverage that was picked off by CB Cromartie, returning it for a short gain. The Chargers running game that was being dominated by the Jags wouldcome to life as LT would break tackles on his way to a 46yd TD run, 13-10 SD. On the kickoff WR T. Williamson would fumble fighting for extra yardage, CB Castille would recover and return it 25yds for TD, 20-10 SD.

The final quarter saw the chargers defense dominate sacking Garrard twice and giving the Jags no room to operate, with 3 minutes remaining LT would seal the game with another bruising run for a 84 yd TD, 27-10 final.

The Chargers have the possibility of hosting the AFC title game for the first time since the 1980 loss to the Raiders, with a Bills win in Indy.
